Chapter -4- Modify Panel Lecturer: Asmaa Ab. Mustafa Lecturer: Asmaa Ab. Mustafa AutoCAD 2019 Ishik University Sulaimani 1 Modify Panel commands 1. Move command 2. Copy command 3. Rotate command 4. Mirror command 5. Trim and Extend command 6. Fillet command 7. Chamfer command 8. Blend Curves command 9. Array command 10.Scale command 11.Stretch command 12.Erase command Contents 13.Offset command 14.Explode command 15.Break command 16.Break at a point command 17.Join command 18.Align command 19.Lengthen command 20.Edit Hatch command 21.Edit Array command 22.Edit Polyline command 23.Edit Spline command Lecturer: Asmaa Ab. Mustafa AutoCAD 2019 Ishik University Sulaimani 2 1
1. Move command Move command type M than enter in command prompt: you can go tools bar in auto-cad and select move command. Move command change the of objects, if you want the any objects move so you can use this command. Lecturer: Asmaa Ab. Mustafa AutoCAD 2019 Ishik University Sulaimani 3 2. Copy command The copy command allows you to create duplicates of an drawing or image without having to draw the image each time. Lecturer: Asmaa Ab. Mustafa AutoCAD 2019 Ishik University Sulaimani 4 2
3. Rotate command The ROTATE command changes the orientation of existing objects by rotating them about a specified point, labeled as the base point. By default, a positive angle rotates the object in the counterclockwise direction, and a negative angle rotates in the clockwise direction. Lecturer: Asmaa Ab. Mustafa AutoCAD 2019 Ishik University Sulaimani 5 4. Trim and Extend command Select object to trim or shift-select to extend or [Fence/Crossing/Project/Edge/Erase/Undo]: Select a single object to trim or extend. Choose the portion of the object that you want AutoCAD to trim away or the end of the object that's closer to the extend-to boundary. Lecturer: Asmaa Ab. Mustafa AutoCAD 2019 Ishik University Sulaimani 6 3
5. Mirror command This command creates a mirror image of selected existing objects. You can retain or delete the original objects ( old object ). After selecting objects, you create two points specifying a rubberband line, or mirror line, about which to mirror. Lecturer: Asmaa Ab. Mustafa AutoCAD 2019 Ishik University Sulaimani 7 6. Fillet command The fillet command automatically rounds a sharp corner ( intersection of two Lines, Arcs, Circles, or Pline vertices ) with a radius. You only specify the radius and select the objects to be filleted. The objects to fillet do not have to completely intersect but can overlap. You can specify whether or not the object are automatically extended or trimmed as necessary Lecturer: Asmaa Ab. Mustafa AutoCAD 2019 Ishik University Sulaimani 8 4
7. Chamfer command Chamfer is a manufacturing process used to replace a sharp corner with an angled surface. InAutoCAD, Chamfer is commonly used to change the intersection of two Lines or Plines by adding an angled line. Lecturer: Asmaa Ab. Mustafa AutoCAD 2019 Ishik University Sulaimani 9 8. Blend Curves command Creates a spline in the gap between two selected lines or curves. Select each object near an endpoint. The shape of the resulting spline depends on the specified continuity. The lengths of the selected objects remain unchanged. Just like the Fillet and Chamfer commands, the Blend command offers another method for creating transitions between 2D drawing objects. Whereas Chamfer creates bevelled corners (that is, straight lines), and Fillet creates round corners (circular arcs), BLEND corners are spline objects. Lecturer: Asmaa Ab. Mustafa AutoCAD 2019 Ishik University Sulaimani 10 5
9. Explode command Breaks a compound object into its component objects.explodes a compound object when you want to modify its components separately. Objects that can beexploded include blocks, polylines, and regions, among others. The color, linetype, and lineweight of any exploded object might change. Lecturer: Asmaa Ab. Mustafa AutoCAD 2019 Ishik University Sulaimani Array command Creates copies of objects arranged in a pattern. You can create copies of objects in a regularly spaced rectangular, polar, or path array. The DELOBJ system variable controls whether the source objects of the array are deleted or retained after the array is created. Lecturer: Asmaa Ab. Mustafa AutoCAD 2019 Ishik University Sulaimani 12 6
10. Array command Lecturer: Asmaa Ab. Mustafa AutoCAD 2019 Ishik University Sulaimani Scale command The SCALE command lets you change the size of selected objects or the complete drawing. Scale factor is applied to the X, Y, and Z directions. To enlarge an object, specify a scale factor greater than 1. To reduce the size of an object, use a scale factor between 0 and 1. Lecturer: Asmaa Ab. Mustafa AutoCAD 2019 Ishik University Sulaimani 14 7
12. Stretch command Object can be made longer or shorter with STRETCH. When Stretched, Line and Plines become longer or shorter and Arc change radius to become longer or shorter. Circle do not stretch; rather, they move if the circle is selected within the Crossing Window. Lecturer: Asmaa Ab. Mustafa AutoCAD 2019 Ishik University Sulaimani Erase command The erase command deletes the objects you select from the drawing. Any of the object selection methods can be used to highlight the object to erase. The only other required action is press Enter to cause the erase to take effect. Lecturer: Asmaa Ab. Mustafa AutoCAD 2019 Ishik University Sulaimani 16 8
14. Offset command Offset creates a parallel copy of selected object. Selected object can be Lines, Arcs, Circles, Plines or other objects. Two options are available with offset; offset a specified distance and offset through a specified point. Lecturer: Asmaa Ab. Mustafa AutoCAD 2019 Ishik University Sulaimani Break command Lecturer: Asmaa Ab. Mustafa AutoCAD 2019 Ishik University Sulaimani 18 9
16. Break at a point command To break a line into two parts without a gap between them, start the Break command. Click the point where you want to break the line. Lecturer: Asmaa Ab. Mustafa AutoCAD 2019 Ishik University Sulaimani Align command Either one, two, or three pairs of source points and definition points can be specified to move, rotate, or tilt the selected objects, aligning them with points on another object. Lecturer: Asmaa Ab. Mustafa AutoCAD 2019 Ishik University Sulaimani 20 10
18. Join command Lecturer: Asmaa Ab. Mustafa AutoCAD 2019 Ishik University Sulaimani Lengthen command The LENGTHEN command is used to increase or decrease the length of line objects or the included angle of an arc. Lecturer: Asmaa Ab. Mustafa AutoCAD 2019 Ishik University Sulaimani 22 11
20. Pedit (Edit Polyline ) command Common uses for PEDIT include joining 2D polylines, converting lines and arcs into 2D polylines, and converting polylines into curves that approximate B-splines (spline-fit polylines). Different prompts are displayed, depending on the type of object you select to edit. Lecturer: Asmaa Ab. Mustafa AutoCAD 2019 Ishik University Sulaimani Splinedit (Edit Spline) command Modifies the parameters of a spline or converts a spline-fit polyline to a spline. Lecturer: Asmaa Ab. Mustafa AutoCAD 2019 Ishik University Sulaimani 24 12
