1 Burr Family Movie Night List ( ) DISCLAIMERS: some of these films just barely passed our movie night standards, because they are almost twaddle (particularly some of the Disney movies) or because they are too heavy on Christian-cheesiness. However, a lot of these movies are outstanding and we own them. I have placed a ** next to our very favorites. Our general rule is that we prohibit any movies with profanity or obvious sexual behavior, and we also deplore potty humor. If kissing occurs, we have our kids close their eyes. If there are one or two mild profane words, we can fast-forward if we know it s coming; but if our kids catch hear the word, we advise them this is an unacceptable word. If a movie contains self-empowerment themes, evolutionary paradigms, or other secular tropes, we always discuss those with our kids, who are quite an astute bunch, and usually pick them out without our assistance.
