1 Mnger Applince Quick Strt Guide Revision B McAfee Network Security Pltform This guide is high-level description of how to instll nd configure the Mnger Applince. For more detiled instlltion informtion, refer to the Mnger Applince Instlltion Guide. 1 Verify the shipment Check for these contents tht re shipped with the Mnger Applince. Mnger Applince Accessory kit contining: Mnger Applince Quick Strt Guide Lockble front bezel Power cord (s) System restore disk (Mnger Applince imge re-instlltion) System dignostic memory stick Tool-less slide ril (2) Chssis cble mngement rm If ny of the contents from the preceding list re missing or dmged, contct McAfee support t mysupport.mcfee.com. 2 Downlod documenttion Downlod the product documenttion for the Mnger Applince. Go to the McAfee Technicl Support ServicePortl t b c Under Self Service, click Product Documenttion Select the pproprite product nd version. 1

2 d Downlod these documents. 1) Mnger Applince Instlltion Guide 2) Mnger Applince Relese Notes 3) Mnger Administrtion Guide 3 Instll the Mnger Applince on rck Use the rck mounting kit included with the Mnger Applince to instll the unit into four-post 19-inch rck. The kit cn be used with most industry-stndrd rck cbinets. Use the tie wrps to secure the cbles from the Mnger Applince to the rck. Mke sure tht you follow the sfety wrnings. For exmple, when identifying where you wnt the Mnger Applince to go in the rck, remember tht you should lwys lod the rck from the bottom upwrds. If you re instlling multiple Mnger Applinces, strt first with the lowest vilble position. Instll the mounting rils Position the mounting rils correctly nd instll them t sme levels. At the front of the rck, position one of the mounting rils so tht its mounting brcket ligns with the required rck holes. Clip the ril into the rck. b c d e At the bck of the rck, pull the bck mounting-brcket (extending the mounting ril) so tht it ligns with the required rck holes. Clip the ril to the rck nd secure it. Repet these steps to secure the second mounting ril to the rck. Mke sure tht the mounting rils re t the sme level on ech side of the rck. 2

3 Instll the Mnger Applince on the mounting rils Crefully instll the Mnger Applince on the mounting rils. With help from nother person, lift the Mnger Applince so tht the side rils t the bck of the Mnger Applince re ligned with the mounting rils in the rck, then push the Mnger Applince into the mounting rils until it stops. To void injury, use two people to lift the Mnger Applince nd ttch it to the rck. The Mnger Applince weighs pproximtely kg (23.05 lbs). b c d Use screwdriver to fix screw through the front nd bck rck holes to secure the system to the rck. Attch the provided cble mngement rm if desired. If required, ttch the lockble bezel to protect the front pnel. 4 Connect the Mnger Applince to power nd the network After you hve instlled the Mnger Applince on the rck, connect the pplince to the power source nd to your network. Connect monitor, keybord, nd mouse, which re required to configure the Mnger Applince. Perform these steps to connect the Mnger Applince to power source nd network. Plug the AC power cord into the bck of the Mnger Applince, then plug the other end of the cord into n pproprite power source. b Connect network cble to NIC 1. Use only NIC 1 for initil configurtion purposes. The Mnger Applince Configurtion Tool will not work with the other NIC interfces. c Connect the monitor, mouse, nd keybord to the rer or front of the Mnger Applince. You cn mnge the Mnger Applince from remote computer fter the initil instlltion nd configurtion re completed. d Turn on the power for the Mnger Applince. Applince power on/off the push-button on/off power switch on the front pnel of the Mnger Applince does not turn off the AC power. To remove AC power from the Mnger Applince, you must unplug the AC power cord from either the power supply or wll outlet. e When the pplince hs strted nd you log on, the Mnger Applince Configurtion Tool ppers. 5 Mnger Applince front pnel description The Mnger Applince front pnel hs these lights nd buttons. An optionl lockble bezel is included with the Mnger Applince, which cn be instlled to cover the front pnel. 3

Item Description 1 Power supply 2 Video out 3 RJ-45 seril port (not used) 4 NIC 2 connector RJ-45 5 USB ports 6 Remote Mngement Module (RMM4 NIC) port 7 NIC 4 connector RJ-45 8 NIC 3 connector RJ-45 9 NIC 1 connector RJ-45 7 Configure the Mnger Applince Log on to the Mnger Applince nd configure these settings. Log on to the Mnger Applince. 1) Usernme: ismdmin 2) Pssword: dmin123$ McAfee recommends tht you chnge the pssword immeditely. A new pssword must be t lest 8 chrcters in length nd must contin combintion of numbers, chrcters, nd specil chrcters. b The first time you log on, the Windows ptching notice nd end-user license greement pper. Follow the on-screen prompts. 5

6 The Mnger Applince Configurtion Tool pge is displyed. c Determine host nme for the Mnger Applince. In the Chnge Host Configurtion re, do one of the following for Computer Nme: 1) Accept the generted host nme. 2) Type new host nme. d e Click Apply. If you chnged the host nme, nd you will be prompted to restrt. Determine host nme for the Mnger Applince. An uto-generted nme ppers in the Computer Nme field, or you cn type new nme. The Mnger genertes public key certificte tht uses the Mnger Applince host nme. This certificte is used to uthenticte the Mnger server to ny Mnger clients in your deployment. Chnging the host nme fter the certificte is generted will crete host nme mismtch error, which cn prevent the Mnger server from communicting with the Mnger client. If you wish to chnge the host nme of the Mnger Applince, it is importnt tht you use the Mnger Applince Configurtion Tool to do so, s it utomticlly regenertes the Mnger server certificte. f In the System Time re, click Chnge to chnge the Time zone, Dte, nd Time fields. 6

7 g In the Chnge Network Configurtion re, do one of the following: 1) Do nothing to use DHCP-provided IP ddress. 2) Type sttic IP ddress, defult gtewy ddress, nd primry nd secondry DNS server IP ddresses. h i Click Apply. In the Chnge Dtbse Connection Configurtion re, do the following: Type nd confirm MySQL root pssword. (Defult/old root pssword is dmin123$) Do not lose this pssword, s you will need this pssword when upgrding to new versions of the Mnger softwre. b Type nd confirm Connection pssword. (Defult/old root pssword is dmin123$) This pssword is used internlly by the Mnger softwre to connect to the MySQL dtbse. Although not required, s good security prctice we recommend you chnge it from its defult vlue. j k l Click Apply. Click Finish to ccept the vlues. Reboot nd restrt the system. m Log on using the user nme nd pssword you estblished in step 1. 7

8 You cn now mnge the Mnger Applince from remote loction using remote desktop connection. If necessry, unplug the monitor, keybord, nd mouse. 8 Configure remote mngement You cn mnge the pplince remotely. While the pplince is strting, press F2 to enter the BIOS configurtion screen. Pssword: MCAFEE b c Select Server Mngement BMC LAN Configurtion. Configure the IP Source, IP ddress, Subnet Msk, nd Gtewy IP fields. d e f Configure user ID with dministrtor privilege nd set pssword. Connect network cble to RMM4 NIC port. Access the configured IP ddress from nother computer. You will be prompted to instll browser plugin which is required to run the remote viewing tool. 8
