3 What s New Features New features that have been introduced in StoneGate SSL VPN v1.3.1 are described in the table below. The following table lists the features briefly. Please consult the product documentation for more details. OATH Support Feature IP Address Pool Description The authentication method OATH can be used for authentication in a Web browser, WAP client, or with a PDA. Users enter their user ID and are prompted to enter a one-time password (OTP) to be allowed access. In StoneGate OATH a hardware token is required, generating the OTP. How the OTP is achieved is vendor dependent. The authentication method StoneGate OATH relies on the RADIUS protocol, while default OATH OTP protocol is HOTP The IP address pool is used to define a set of IP addresses which are assigned to connecting clients, thus enabling the Access Point to route traffic from the backend systems to the client. To activate IP Address Pool, please refer to Technical Note Fixes Problems described in the table below have been fixed since StoneGate SSL VPN v A workaround solution is presented for earlier versions where available. Synopsis Message "Configuration file has been manually modified, Accept." Appears in Administration Service (#36313) Only one concurrent user may use windows fileshares at a time (#47992) Administrator member of delegated management group gets error message "The system could not log on. Invalid credentials." when accessing Administration Service (#48841) Growing number of configuration files history is filling disk space (#50089) Firewall prevents mirrored configuration if no authentication service is present (#50488) Description sg-admin -upgrade and -reencrypt fail to hash new configuration file, causing "Configuration file has been manually modified, Accept.." in Administration Service. It is recommended to Publish configuration after successful upgrade. When windows fileshare is configured, only one user at a time can access the fileshare. Using this application requires IP Address Pool to be configured and activated in resource definition. When you create user account to internal LDAP and assign it to e.g. "Super Administrators" delegated management group, user can access Application portal with this account but not Admin Portal. Error message is "The system could not log on. Invalid credentials." Every time configuration is published, new set of RemoteConfiguration.xml files are generated. sg-cleanup command is provided (see technical note # 4654 for usage) If no secondary node authentication service is defined in SSL VPN Administration Service, firewall configuration on secondary node won't work preventing any service to be accessible from primary node (publish configuration will fail to connect secondary node) Workaround for previous versions Manual deletion of old files is required. 3 StoneGate SSL VPN Release Notes for version 1.3.1

To run the ActiveX Access Client loader successfully with Windows Vista UAC, you must add the Access Point server https address to the list of trusted sites in Internet Explorer. A single drive letter (for example, F :) cannot be used as a startup command in Windows Vista. All commands must be executed using runas to elevate to administrator mode since the mapping is done in administrator mode, and F: is not a valid executable. Use the following startup command instead: explorer /root, F: This works on both Windows XP and Windows Vista. The AES ciphers in Vista are not compatible with the SSL engine used in Access Point. You must remove the AES ciphers from Cipher Suites for your Access Point under Manage Global Access Point Settings. Remove the following ciphers: RSA_AES_128_CBC_SHA and RSA_AES_256_CBC_SHA. To run the PortWise Java Access Client, use Sun Java 1.6 Update 2 or later. 6 StoneGate SSL VPN Release Notes for version 1.3.1

Issue the following commands to trigger new key generation on next reboot: rm /data/webmin/etc/miniserv.pem rm /data/config/ssh/* rm /data/config/tls/* sg-admin reencrypt sg-admin certgen # Give this command only if internal certificate is used for Access Point sg-admin -upgrade 3. 9 Known Issues The current known issues of StoneGate SSL VPN v1.3.1 are described in the table below. For an updated list of known issues, consult our Web site at Synopsis Description Workaround Upgrade using CD-ROM resets boot options, disables serial console (#31777) Client Firewall does not work on Windows Vista clients (#40657) External LDAP tree browsing in Administration Service works only if server is listening on port 389 (#46746) Abolishment fails on paths containing special characters (#48653) Special characters in Administration Service during upgrade from 1.1.x cause service to fail (#49137) Virtual IP check box is not saved/published (#50025) Use of IP pool address with Active FTP and TFTP does not work in Windows Vista (#50028) Resource for OWA 2007 is not included in default configuration (#50878) If an appliance is upgraded using a CD-ROM, the default boot options are reset. The default options do not enable the serial console. When a Client Firewall is configured for a resource, the Access Client stops working on Windows Vista. When an external OpenLDAP server listens on a port other than 389, searches from the browser in the Administration Service interface continue to be done on port 389. User creation works as designed, but the LDAP server fails to display LDAP hierarchy. Special characters in the file path cause abolishment to fail. No information is sent to the Log Server. If special characters are used (for example, in an Administrator's name) in 1.1.x and the installation is upgraded to 1.2.x, the Administration Service does not start. In the Administration Service interface, configuring the Virtual IP setting for a dynamic tunnel is not saved or published. Using an SSL VPN resource for active FTP with an IP Address Pool from a Windows Vista machine fails when the server starts the transfer. The same behavior is observed for TFTP clients. The Resource for OWA (Outlook Web Access) 2007 is not included in the default configuration. It must be manually created Add the following three "Outgoing" rules for the Client Firewall: W.X.Y.Z-W.X.Y.Z 443 TCP Any Accept TCP Any Accept UDP Any Accept Where W.X.Y.Z is the IP address of your access point. If using multiple APs, add a corresponding rule for each. Use other LDAP clients to verify operations performed on the external LDAP server. Avoid using special characters in SSL VPN Configuration Create the resource host with a virtual IP address, then add it to the tunnel set. Reset the resource host with a real IP address. Contact Stonesoft Support for additional instructions about how to add support for OWA 2007 to the StoneGate SSL VPN configuration. 9 StoneGate SSL VPN Release Notes for version 1.3.1
