Release notes SW version Software component: Drilling / milling / turning cycles for 810D, 840Di and 840D New software version: SW Previous software version: SW patch Date: Contact: A&D MC MT EU / Mr. Otto Phone: +49 (0) Fax: +49 (0) mailto:johannes.otto@siemens.com Functionality: This cycle version includes new functions and bug fixes. This document only describes the differences compared to SW Functional extensions / changes in SW : 1. New function Swiveling in JOG mode: Swiveling in JOG mode has been introduced in SW 6.5 in order to simplify the procedure for setting up and measuring workpieces with swiveled (inclined) machined surfaces. This function necessitates HMI Advanced as of SW 6.4. The Swiveling in JOG mode functionality comprises: (1) Compensation of the basic workpiece rotation on machines with a swivel table; (2) Setting the swivel plane to the new datum plane; (3) Referring the swivel plane to the actual datum plane; Procedure: The entry-level softkey is HS8 Swivel in JOG mode in Machine/JOG mode. HS8 is activated in the MA_JOG.COM file. The ; in front of the following line in the MA_JOG.COM file must be deleted: ;HS8=("swivel",,se1) ;PRESS(HS8) ;LM("SCHWENK3","jog_c800.com") ;END_PRESS MA_JOG.COM can be found in the Standard cycles directory. The Swivel screen form functions in much the same way as the screen form for the swivel cycle in the program Editor. Both the rotary axes and the linear axes necessary for the retraction prior to swiveling in JOG mode are positioned with the JOG rapid traverse function. The following MDs must therefore be checked particularly carefully: N32010 $MA_JOG_VELO_RAPID[AX] AX.. retract rotary axes, linear axes Siemens AG 2004 A&D MC RD 8/Schaarschmidt Page 1/6
2. New function Swivel tool approach: When milling with radius form cutters, it is sometimes advisable for technical reasons for the tool to approach the surface normal vector at an angle. This is taken into account in SW 6.5 by the swivel cycle CYCLE800. The setting angle is created in the cycle by adding axis rotations (max. +90 ) to the active swivel plane. Tools can also be approached on machines without the TRAORI option (refer to the lead angle (LEAD) and tilt angle (TILT) functions). The TCP (tool center point) must be entered as the tool length. Procedure and usage: The entry-level softkey is VSK4 Tool approach in the program Editor. A swivel cycle call is generated and stored in the program. 3. New screen form for fine offsets for the swivel offset vectors: The fine offsets for the offset vectors are entered and displayed in a separate image in the startup/swivel area. The entry-level softkeys are Kinematics, Rotary axes, and Kinematics fine in the vertical bar. The fine offset parameters can only be displayed if NCU Version 7.1 or higher is installed. 4. Function extension in CYCLE72 (only for cycles used in ShopMill/ShopTurn): The path milling cycle CYCLE72 has been extended to include PTPG0 behavior. If PTPG0 and TRANSMIT are active, as from the second infeed there is an initial traverse with PTPG0 to the starting point (N21). 5. Function extension in CYCLE800, Retract in tool direction: Cycle CYCLE800 has been extended to include the Retract in tool direction function. 6. Programmable offsets / rotations / mirroring implemented with cycle frame: Internal offsets, rotations and mirroring are now implemented in the cycles using the cycle frame instead of the programmable frame (ATRANS, AROT and AMIRROR commands). The workpiece in the actualvalue display in automatic mode remains exactly the same when the cycles are executed as it was prior to the call. Conditions - NCU (NCK as of ) - Machine data: MD FRAME_ACS_SET = 1 MD MM_SYSTEM_FRAME_MASK bit 5 = 1 MD 9424 MA_COORDINATE_SYSTEM = 1 7. Extension of the milling cycles to include chamfer machining (only for cycles used in ShopMill SW 6.4 or higher): The CYCLE72, CYCLE76, CYCLE77, LONGHOLE, POCKET3, POCKET4, SLOT1 and SLOT2 cycles support the chamfer function in conjunction with ShopMill SW 6.4. This function is programmed by means of the machining type parameters (VARI and _VARI) with the ones digit set to a value of 5. The cycle behavior then resembles the edge finishing cut. 8. Extension of CYCLE72 to include path milling counter to the programmed contour direction (only for cycles used in ShopMill SW 6.4 or higher): CYCLE72 now also allows path milling in ShopMill counter to the programmed contour direction. 9. Extension of CYCLE60 to include variable engraving strings (only for cycles used in ShopMill SW 6.4 or higher): CYCLE60 now also allows a variable text to be transferred in ShopMill as an engraving text. Siemens AG 2004 A&D MC RD 8/Schaarschmidt Page 2/6
10. Eight-digit version numbers: The cycle version numbers have been extended and now have eight digits. 11. End behavior changed in PROG_EVENT: The EOP is now output in PROG_EVENT with M17 or M32, depending on the machine data: MD10714 $MN_M_NO_FCT_EOP End of program with M32 if MD10714 $MN_M_NO_FCT_EOP<>-1, otherwise M Cycle support for CYCLE97 changed: If a metric thread table is used, the default values for the thread depth conform to DIN 13-1 Edition Downward compatibility with the thread table previously used in the cycle support can be achieved by setting the following value in the GUD7 module: _SC_MASK[2]=1 Compatibility: Condition: Notes for ShopMill users: NCU or CCU / NCK software: 810D/DE CCU, 840D/DE NCU software NCK 840Di/DiE software HMI software: HMI Advanced software HMI Embedded software From SW From SW (except fine offsets for the swivel offset vectors) From SW SW patch From SW (no swiveling in JOG mode) This software version can be used with ShopMill SW 6.4 or higher. Instructions for retooling As for SW Bug fixes for SW and higher BRKdb09334 Cycle support In HMI Embedded, the title bar of the Path milling screen form in the cycle support is no longer overwritten during scrolling. CHMdc04121 CYCLE95 The actual-value display for the workpiece is no longer distorted during roughing if programmable offsets are used internally, creating the impression that the final machining allowances are not adhered to by the cycle. CHMdc05553 POCKET3 Drops in velocity no longer occur at the edge in the special case slot shape (corner radius = ½ pocket width). CHMdc07191 Cycle support The default values for the thread depth if a metric thread table is used in the screen form for CYCLE97 now conform to the latest issue of DIN 13-1, Edition CHMdc07891 CYCLE95 The contour is no longer rounded too wide during the first infeed in the relief cut. Siemens AG 2004 A&D MC RD 8/Schaarschmidt Page 3/6
CHMdc08375 CYCLE95 Cuts are no longer omitted when the stock removal cycle is called with CDON active. The cycle now always works with CDOF during roughing. CHMdc08444 Cycle support Swivel cycle CYCLE800 now also recompiles correctly if more than six swivel data records have been initialized. CHMdc08492 CYCLE95 Contour violation no longer occurs in the final machining allowance. CHMdc08566 CYCLE800 The zero offsets of the rotary axes are now taken into account correctly. Refer also to secondary condition (1). CHMdc08624 CYCLE832 Alarm Channel 1 block impermissible array index1 no longer occurs when executing CYCLE832 with a 4-axis transformation. CHMdc08628 CYCLE800 Deselecting CYCLE800() in the simulation no longer leads to alarm No possible solution with current input angle values. CHMdc08664 CYCLE93 There is no longer a 1 inch retraction during a face groove with G70. CHMdc08685 Cycle support The dwell time field is now always present when the Tapping with compensating chuck screen form is first opened. CHMdc08770 Cycle support The ENC parameter of CYCLE840 is now always generated correctly from the cycle support. CHMdc08771 Cycle support A negative value can no longer be entered for the DPR parameter of CYCLE840. CHMdc08772 CYCLE840 Alarm No spindle direction programmed no longer occurs in connection with automatic reversal of the rotational direction (parameter SDR=0). CHMdc08777 Cycle support The Technology and all following fields are now preset and recompiled correctly in the screen forms for the tapping cycles CYCLE84 / CYCLE840. CHMdc08794 CYCLE95 Alarm Risk of collision in case of tool radius compensation from block N582 no longer occurs. CHMdc08801 CYCLE800 Alarm Name of swivel data record unknown no longer occurs when CYCLE800 is executed in an NC with multiple channels. CHMdc08820 POCKET3 Alarm Channel 1 block N314 error in end point of circle no longer occurs in block N314. CHMdc08823 CYCLE95 A traversing error no longer occurs during the finishing cut when a circle that has not been programmed in the contour is inserted. CHMdc08896 CYCLE840 A left-hand thread without an encoder (G63) no longer leads to an endless loop when monitoring whether the spindle has reached its setpoint. CHMdc08918 POCKET4 Contour violation no longer occurs during the approach when roughing the edge with the rough dimension in the plane. CHMdc09001 Cycle support The optional datum for the compressor function for 3-axis machining is now taken into account in the screen form. Siemens AG 2004 A&D MC RD 8/Schaarschmidt Page 4/6
CHMdc09059 Cycle support The SDR parameter is no longer changed in the screen form of CYCLE840 without an input during recompiling. MGLdm00600 POCKET3 Alarm Tool radius too large no longer occurs if pocket width = tool diameter. MGLdm00671 Cycle support It is no longer possible to create two swivel data records with the same name. MGLdm00672 Cycle support The start-up screen form for the swivel cycle now also works correctly if more than 100 swivel data records have been initialized. MGLdm00840 Cycle support Pressing the Abort softkey in conjunction with Deselect modal in the drilling cycle screen forms no longer results in an exit from cycle support. MGLdm00843 CYCLE800 The cycle is now ended with RET (instead of M17). MGLdm00981 POCKET4 The pocket depth during the finishing cut is now also correct if no allowance is programmed at the edge (_FAL=0) and a helical path has been traversed when immersing. MGLdm00987 CYCLE72 Alarm Impermissible value no longer occurs when executing CYCLE72 in a ShopTurn program. Secondary conditions: (1) Restriction on CYCLE800 in connection with offsets in the rotary axes (error CHMdc08566) All rotary axes declared in the swivel data record can theoretically have a value in the zero offset. In connection with swiveling in JOG mode, only offset values in the rotary axis that rotates about the tool axis are permissible (basic rotation). In all other cases, offsets in one or both rotary axes result in a rotation of the workpiece and thus also in a change in the initial setting of the machine kinematics. This rotation is taken into account in the tool reference (WPFRAME). This changed traversing behavior must be taken into account when traversing the axes in the workpiece. (This does not apply to manual or semiautomatic rotary axes of the swivel data record.) (2) Restrictions on CYCLE800 in connection with Retract in tool direction (refer to New functions 5.) The new Retract in tool direction function is only available in the following languages when starting up swivel data records in HMI Advanced SW or higher: German, English, French, Italian, Spanish, Chinese Standard, Swedish, Turkish, Russian, Rumanian, Japanese and Korean. The function cannot be selected in any other language. (3) Restrictions on the screen form for the engraving cycle a) A maximum of 64 characters can be entered and recompiled from the screen form. b) The engraving cycle (CYCLE60) cannot be recompiled without comments. c) No special characters can be entered via the cycle support with HMI Embedded. d) The following special characters cannot be entered via the screen form with HMI Advanced: (4) Condition for using Fine offsets for the swivel offset vectors The new Fine offsets for the swivel offset vectors function requires NCU Version SW 7.2 or higher, i.e. NCK 56.xx.xx. Siemens AG 2004 A&D MC RD 8/Schaarschmidt Page 5/6
Note on using the swiveling function (CYCLE800): Since the introduction of cycle version SW 6.5, the traversing behavior of the rotary axes of the active swivel data record changes when the swiveling function is called if the value of the zero offsets of the rotary axes (adjustable zero offset, base or base reference) is not zero. All NC programs which call the swiveling function (CYCLE800) and which contain a value other than zero in the zero offset of the rotary axes must be checked. Notes on using the swiveling function (CYCLE800) only relevant for machine manufacturers: (1) Note on using the swiveling function (CYCLE800) in connection with swivel data records with a Hirth tooth system The setting data $SC_TOFRAME_MODE must be set to 2000 for new equipment. (2) New error messages in SW 6.5: Cannot retract in the tool direction --> error code: %4 Error code %4 = abcd a=1xxx -> No vertical axis $P_AXN3 a=2xxx -> Maximum retraction path incorrect a=3xxx -> Incremental retraction path incorrect b=input parameter _FR*100 cd=start-up parameter $P_TCARR37[_TCI] 8.7 decimal place Value range No possible solution with current input angle values The _MODE parameter is additionally checked to make sure that the code is correct. (3) Note on swiveling without active tool offset If the end customer wants swiveling of the rotary axes to be impossible without active tool edge (D0), the machine manufacturer can program this adaptation in the TOOLCARR.SPF cycle: Example with syntax as message _M40: IF ((NOT $P_TOOL) AND _TC1) LOOP MSG ( no active tool edge ) M0 STOPRE ENDLOOP ENDIF GOTOF _MEND Siemens AG 2004 A&D MC RD 8/Schaarschmidt Page 6/6
