4 ISO 725:2009(E) Provläsigsexemplar / Preview Foreword ISO (the Iteratioal Orgaizatio for Stadardizatio) is a worldwide federatio of atioal stadards bodies (ISO member bodies). The work of preparig Iteratioal Stadards is ormally carried out through ISO techical committees. Each member body iterested i a subject for which a techical committee has bee established has the right to be represeted o that committee. Iteratioal orgaizatios, govermetal ad o-govermetal, i liaiso with ISO, also take part i the work. ISO collaborates closely with the Iteratioal Electrotechical Commissio (IEC) o all matters of electrotechical stadardizatio. Iteratioal Stadards are drafted i accordace with the rules give i the ISO/IEC Directives, Part 2. The mai task of techical committees is to prepare Iteratioal Stadards. Draft Iteratioal Stadards adopted by the techical committees are circulated to the member bodies for votig. Publicatio as a Iteratioal Stadard requires approval by at least 75 % of the member bodies castig a vote. Attetio is draw to the possibility that some of the elemets of this documet may be the subject of patet rights. ISO shall ot be held resposible for idetifyig ay or all such patet rights.
