The Submenu Area displays the current time and date as well as giving you access to the Setup menu, Search menu, Picture in Picture preview, System Information menu and the PTZ camera controls when a PTZ is attached to the DVR. a) The Setup icon allows you to customize many of the DVR functions. Many of these functions should have already been completed when the DVR was initially installed by the installer and is covered under the installation procedure video. However if there are any changes that may need to be done then the dealer technical support should be contacted for proper instructions. b) Search icon provides access to searching and archiving of the previously recorded video images. c) Picture in picture Preview is used to watch a specific camera or a few cameras in full frame while monitoring all other attached cameras at the same time. d) System Information will provide ample information about the DVR including the operating system version, the DVR software version, hardware components, total, used and available amount of storage, calculations for number of recording day s capability and much more. e) PTZ icon opens up the PTZ control buttons for the default PTZ camera attached to number one channel. These controls will interface with the attached PTZ camera for remote control of the PTZ camera from the DVR or from a remote PC over the Internet. The PTZ has to be configured and attached to the DVR first for these controls to operate. This concludes the section on Main Display. Search Screen Overview This section covers the feature in search screen and their description. The search screen is divided into four areas. The first is the display area. The second is the recording calendar. The third area is the control buttons and the forth area is the submenu description. Display Screen The Display Screen displays the archived images in single or multi-camera configuration depending on the options selected. This area displays a single image in three different sizes by simply clicking on the image. The images will display the camera number, camera name, the date and the frame number. Recording Calendar There are two parts to the recording calendar. The month and date calendar and the daily recording calendar.
3 a) The current month and date calendar is located on the right side of the screen. Any date in yellow represents a day with recorded video present. Any black, blue or red represent no recording available during the week days, Saturdays and Sundays respectively. b) The 24 hour daily calendar is located at the bottom of the screen and displays the hours and minutes of recording stored within a 24 hour period on all attached camera. If you click above the time bar box between the hours once the time will be displayed in 10 min increment and if it is clicked again it will be displayed in one minute increment for more precise time selection. The next click on the same area will take it back to standard 24 hour display. Control Buttons The control buttons consist of: a) Zoom control which allows you to zoom in and out of an area of a single image. Pressing the + will zoom in and the will zoom out. The will reset the zoom factor to default size. By clicking and holding the mouse button on the image area of the zoom window, the pointer changes into a hand and allows you to pan around the image. b) Speed delay works in conjunction with the playback buttons to control the speed manually. c) Playback controls, much like a conventional VCR allow you to control the video playback They are single frame forward, regular speed playback, regular speed rewind, single frame rewind, fast forward, enable audio playback, stop playback, and fast rewind. d) Camera select enables you to select any number of cameras or all cameras to be displayed on the display area. To select a single camera from multiplexed view simply click on that image. e) Function s controls gives you control over the features such as: 1. Snapshot backup which allows the user to capture an image and save on a separate part of the hard drive to be copied on CD at a later time. 2. Live preview where the user can be searching through archived video and still be able to watch live video feed from all the attached cameras in a picture in picture format. 3. Event search minimizes the time to review archived video by separating the recording type selected in the DVR setup and displaying only the archived videos related to the selection made in the Event Search. For example if the recording on a specific camera was based on continuous, audio and sensor then that cameras can be searched based on each of those event type independent of the other settings. 4. Print button will print a snapshot of the last image displayed onto an attached printer or a network printer. 5. Submenu access opens up the access panel for Bookmark, Smart Search, AVI creation utility, onscreen keyboard as well as panoramic viewer. This concludes the Search Screen overview, click on Exit to go back to Main Display screen. Smart Search and Archive The smart search is used to locate a suspicious activity effortlessly and then printing it as a still image or creating an AVI video.
