1. BRIEF DESCRIPTION Overview Designed for law enforcement, military and commercial use, the TVS 11 Thermal Monocular is ideal for reconnaissance and surveillance, perimeter security, wildlife observation and control and a variety of other applications. Rugged and lightweight, the TVS 11 delivers excellent image quality for observation through total darkness and poor visibility conditions including smoke, fog and most visual obscurants. The device is equipped with a highly sensitive, uncooled thermal detector and a high resolution color display, resulting in a crisp, sharp image, regardless of ambient conditions. The device can be mounted onto a weapon or used as a handheld or hands-free (being worn on a head or helmet) monocular with a wrist strap provided to secure the instrument in hand. The TVS 11 is equipped with a digital USB interface for programming in the field. Power supply options include Li-Ion rechargeable batteries (optional), two CR123 batteries or external power through a watertight connector. The TVS 11 features a 2x and 4x digital zoom, along with various color scheme options for the display. The unit s operating status is shown on the display. 2

Ensure the rechargeable batteries are completely charged before operating (you cannot charge the batteries inside of the device). If the battery is completely discharged, the battery indicator blinks will turn red. To connect unit to the car outlet, use the supplied car adaptor (shown below). 8
Connecting with video recorder (Does not come with the unit - Can be purchased separately) The TVS 11 can be connected to an external monitor or video recorder. The video output is combined with the multifunctional interface connector. Use the cable that is included in the device delivery set to connect the TVS 11 to \external devices Using the unit with headgear The unit is supplied with headgear (Fig. 2). Prior to using the headgear adjust its straps so that the headgear fits the head comfortably but firmly and does not slide off when you are moving. 9
2 1 3 FIGURE 2. TVS 11 attached to headgear The unit is attached to the headgear with a swing arm mount (Fig. 2). To attach the arm mount to the headgear loosen the tightening screw (1, Fig. 1) on headgear, slide helmet groove (2, Fig. 2) onto the rail, and then tighten the screw. To attach monocular to the arm, unscrew the knob (1, Fig. 3), slide the arm groove (3, Fig. 3) along the dovetail platform of the monocular (2, Fig. 1), and then turn the knob clockwise until it stops turning (do not apply excessive force). To set comfortable eye-relief (the distance between your eye and the eyepiece), loosen tightening screw (2, Fig. 2) on the headgear and move the unit, then tighten the locking screw. 10
To remove the unit from field of view, press the flip button (1, Fig. 2) and raise the device. The unit should lock in position. To return the unit to the original position, press the flip button again and help the unit gently to swing down. 1 3 FIGURE 3. TVS 11 Swing arm mount 2 11
Mounting on a rifle The unit can be mounted on a rifle with a Picatinny mount adapter (MIL-STD-1913). The optical axis of the monocular caligns with the rifle s Picatinny rail. FIGURE 4. TVS 11 with Picatinny adapter Two types of weapon mount adapters are available Fig.4 and Fig. 5. Either adapter enables mounting the unit to the Picatinny rail. The type shown on Fig. 4 has two screws with large grooved heads for convenient tightening. Note: Over tightening the screws may damage the thread. The Quick Release model (Fig. 5) utilizes a latch with a spring and patented accu-torque screw. You can attach and detach your monocular within a few seconds. The accu-torque screw fixes the mount with predefined torque thus protecting the thread from accidental damage caused by over tightening. 12
The advantages of the Quick Release mount are: Quick removal and installation of the device Foolproof design Increased reliability Accu-torque screw FIGURE 5. Quick Release weapon adapter Latch with spring Testing the Unit s Readiness 1. Turn the unit on by pressing and holding the ON OFF button for 1 second. The screen will switch on. 2.
