Two surgeons working in a face-to-face position are provided with optimized ergonomic conditions, e.g. in hand surgery. No more commotion or upheaval in the OR: ample space around the stand means that it can stay in its selected location. It does not need to be repositioned, irrespective of whether, for example, a flap transplant is being performed on a patient's leg or thorax. The built-in spot illumination increases the luminous intensity by up to a factor of 2. It markedly enhances contrast in narrow cavities and when long working distances are required. The diameter of the illuminated field can be individually matched to the surgical field. Fine focusing and zoom - always in the picture In the focusing process (with automatic return to a predefined position at the press of a button) only the objective lens and the illumination assembly are moved: the OPMI PRO magis is always exactly balanced, even when a large number of accessories are attached or the microscope's position is changed. The individual magnification can be set quickly and reliably via the zoom system. The continuous change in magnification ensures optimized video documentation.

5 1 Free Float: Magnetic System - positioning with supreme ease Control keys arranged on either side of the OPMI PRO magis release the magnetic locking of the microscope and stand axes, allowing the OPMI to be moved and positioned with extreme ease. To lock the OPMI reliably in position again, simply let go of the key. Foot control panel - the alternative MediUve For activation of the focus and zoom functions, the surgeon simply chooses the control system he prefers: the foot control panel as an alternative to manual operation or for parallel use with it. Accessories - always the right equipment "Space free" - a simple balancing act The OPMI PRO magis can be effortlessly balanced and precisely positioned, even with a large number of accessories attached. Mono and stereo coobservation equipment allow assistants to work in comfort without physical strain. A 35 mm camera and MediLive video systems provide an ideal technical basis for documentation and teaching. 3D video equipment permits stereoscopic coobservation and playback of surgical procedures. The dual stereo beam splitter provides ideal conditions for two surgeons working face-toface.

Control keys on the DPMI release and lock the microscope and stand axes by means of magnetic clutches. With the clutches applied, the microscope can be positioned with supreme ease. When they are released, maximum stability and exact locking of the set position are assured. Ample space around the patient - ample room to maneuver The extension of the stand arm provides ample room for manipulation: the surgeon can work in either a standing or seated position without obstruction. The stand can be installed to meet the special needs of the individual OR.

9 Automatic switch to back-up lamp - dependable light ;111 In the event of microscope lamp failure (halogen illumination) during surgery, the backup lamp swings immediately and automatically into position - all unnoticed by the surgeon. An LED display and the projection of a mechanical device (also visible when the instrument is switched off) indicate to OR staff that the lamp has to be changed. For special applications, special filters, e.g. conversion or protective filters, can be integrated in the illumination module. The high-intensity Superlux 301 illumination system provides bright, high-contrast illumination with daylight characteristics. Easy to maneuver - lightens the workload of OR staff OR staff want a suspension system which guarantees safe handling, simple transportation and easy cleaning - and this is precisely what the S8 Floor Stand provides. A new design makes the stand easy to maneuver: the unidirectional front wheels facilitate forward movement, and the large casters allow the stand to be moved with a minimum of effort over obstacles, e.g. when entering elevators. The stand can be conveniently and reliably maneuvered with the aid of a special handle. The smooth surfaces on the S8 Stand and the internal routing of its cables simplify the cleaning procedure. If the back-up lamp has been automatically activated, lamp failure is indicated by the projection of a flap device from the lamp housing.
