Camera Information Do not take apart or attempt to service the camera yourself. This will invalidate the warranty This camera is not waterproof. Do not expose to water or extreme temperatures Do not expose the lens to direct sunlight for extended periods of time Do not use abrasive chemicals, cleaning solvents or strong detergents to clean the Z360. Wipe with a soft, damp cloth When the camera is used for an extended period of time, it is normal for the camera body to feel warm Getting to Know your Camera 2

3 Preparation Inserting and Charging the Battery 1. Slide open the battery compartment door. 2. Insert the included lithium-ion battery into the larger slot as shown in the figure. Ensure that the polarity on the battery matches the polarity inside the battery slot. 3. To remove the battery, slide the battery latch back, and the battery will pop out from the battery compartment. 4. To charge the battery, connect your camcorder to your computer/laptop using the included USB cable. Charging will begin once the camcorder s screen is closed. A red indicator light will stay solidly lit while charging, and will turn off once charging is completed. Please allow 3 hours to fully charge 5. Press the power button to power the camcorder on. The battery status icon will display in the right bottom corner of the LCD screen. Note: When the camera is off or the battery is removed, the photos and videos saved to the internal memory will not be retained on the next power cycle. It is recommended to export the photos and videos saved in your camera to your computer periodically. Remove the battery if you will not use your camcorder for a long time. Inserting a Memory Card 1. Slide open the battery compartment door. 2. Insert an SD card into the smaller slot as shown in the figure below. Ensure that the direction of insertion is correct. 3. Once it is inserted correctly, you will hear an audible click. Do not try to force the SD card into the slot. It can only be inserted one way. 4. To remove the SD card, press down on the card again and the card will pop out from the memory card slot. Note: The maximum capacity and speed memory card compatible with your camcorder is 64GB, class 10. When an SD card is properly inserted, an icon will display on the LCD screen, indicating that the SD card is correctly installed and that all the photos and videos you take or shoot will be saved onto the external SD card, rather than the internal memory. Basic Operation Powering the Camcorder On and Off There are two ways to power the camcorder on and off. 1. The camcorder can be powered on or off by flip-opening or flip-closing the LCD screen. Once flip-opening the LCD screen, allow the camcorder two seconds for the CPU to initiate. 2. The camcorder can be powered on or off by pressing the power button. Navigating the Camcorder s Menus You may navigate through the menus and user interface utilizing the buttons or the touch screen. The instructions below will be outlined utilizing a combination of the physical buttons on the camcorder body and tapping of the touchscreen. You may navigate through the menus using the W/T (zoom buttons) and the PHOTO button on the top of the camcorder when selecting a setting. Setting the Date & Time 1. Power the camcorder on. 2. Press the MODE button to enter the main menu. 3. Tap the SETUP icon on the screen to enter the Setup menu. 4. Tap the DATE icon on the screen to enter the Date and Time setup. 5. You are presented with 3 options: Off, On and Set Date. 6. Select SET DATE by dragging up/down on the screen.tap the green arrow key to proceed. 7. You are presented with 6 columns, each signifying the following format: HH : MM : SS DD : MM : YYYY 8. Drag up/down on the screen in each column until you have completely entered your desired time and date. 9. Once complete, tap the green arrow key to confirm and save the setting. 10. Tap the green arrow key on the bottom to revert back to your main viewing screen. 3

4 Formatting the SD Card Note: It is important to format the SD Card for first time use. Please note that all data stored on the SD Card will be deleted including protected files. Be sure to download or transfer any files you want to retain to your computer before the SD Card is formatted. 1. Power the camcorder on. 2. Press the MODE button to enter the main menu. 3. Tap the FORMAT icon in the SETUP on the screen to enter the Format menu. 4. Tap YES to format. 5. Once formatting is completed, you will be returned back to the setup menu. 6. Tap the green arrow key on the bottom to revert back to your main viewing screen. Video Mode Recording Video 1. Insert a compatible SD card into the camcorder. 2. Power the camcorder on. The camcorder should default to Video Mode upon powering up. If not, set it to Video Mode by pressing the MODE button and then tapping directly on the VIDEO icon on the screen. Once in video mode, the Video icon will appear in the top left. 3. Press the RECORD button on the back of the camcorder to begin or end recording. The recording duration will show on the top right of the LCD screen and a will flash on the screen. Notes: 1. Use the T (Zoom-In) and W (Zoom-Out) buttons for zooming in and out. 2. Press the LIGHT button to enable or disable the LED video light. 3. Press the DISP button to show the on-screen display information, or to turn the screen off to conserve power. 4. The camcorder will automatically stop recording when the SD card has reached its maximum capacity. Video Resolution In video mode, you can select a video resolution from four different options. A higher resolution will record a better quality video, but will also occupy more storage on your memory card. 2. Tap the RESOLUTION icon on the screen to enter the Resolution menu. 3. Press the Zoom In/Out buttons or tap the corresponding icon on the touchscreen to select a resolution 1080P@30fps,720p@60fps, 720p@30fps, VGA@30fps White Balance (Video Mode) This setting is used to adjust the white balancing and colour of the video based on the light setting in a scene. 2. Tap the AWB icon on the screen to enter the White Balance menu. available: Auto, Daylight, Cloudy, Fluorescent or Tungsten Colour (Video Mode) This setting is used to add a colour filter overlay on the video when recording a video clip. 2. Tap the COLOUR icon on the screen to enter the Colour menu. available: Standard, Sepia, Monochrome and Vivid 4

5 Exposure (Video Mode) This setting is used to manually set the exposure value to compensate for light in various scenes. 2. Tap the EXPOSURE icon on the screen to enter the Exposure menu. available: -3, -2, -1, 0, +1, +2, +3 Metering (Video Mode) This setting is used to manually set the metering location and type to compensate for aperture in various scenes. 2. Tap the METERING icon on the screen to enter the Metering menu. available: Center-weighted, Multi, Spot Camera Mode Capturing Photos 1. Insert a compatible SD card into the camcorder. 2. Power the camcorder on. Set the camcorder to Camera Mode by pressing the MODE button and then tapping directly on the CAMERA icon on the screen. Once in Camera mode, the Camera icon will appear in the top left. 3. Press the PHOTO button on top of the camcorder to capture a photo. The amount of photos you can capture with the memory card s remaining capacity will be displayed in the upper right corner of the screen. This number decreases as you capture more photos or videos. Notes: 1. Use the T (Zoom-In) and W (Zoom-Out) buttons for zooming in and out. 2. Press the LIGHT button to enable or disable the LED video light. 3. Press the DISP button to show the on-screen display information, or to turn the screen off to conserve power. Photo Resolution In photo mode, you can select a photo resolution from several different options. A higher resolution will capture a better quality photo, but will also occupy more storage on your memory card. 2. Tap the RESOLUTION icon on the screen to enter the Resolution menu. 3. Press the Zoom In/Out buttons or tap the corresponding icon on the touchscreen to select a resolution. The following settings are available: 24M (5600x4200), 20M (5200x3900), 16M (4640x3480), 12M (4000x3000), 10M (3648x2736), 7MHD (3648x2048), 5M (2592x1944), 3M (2048x1536), 2MHD (1920x1080) and VGA (640x480) Self-Timer (Camera Mode) This setting allows you to set a delay from the time the shutter button is pressed until a photo is captured. 2. Tap the SELF-TIMER icon on the screen to enter the Self-Timer menu. available: Off, 2S Timer, 5S Timer, 10S Timer 5

6 Note: The camera will start to count down after you press the shutter button for 2, 5 or 10 seconds until it captures and saves the photo. The corresponding self-timer icon will display in the centre of the LCD screen. Face Detection (Camera Mode) This setting allows the camera to detect faces in a scene for optimal capture settings. 2. Tap the FACE DETECT icon on the screen to enter the Face Detect menu. 3. Press the Zoom In/Out buttons or tap the corresponding icon on the touchscreen to select ON or OFF. Note: The face detection icon will display on the top center of the LCD screen. Macro (Close-Up Photography) (Camera Mode) This setting allows the camera to set optimal capture settings for close-up focusing. 2. Tap the MACRO icon on the screen to enter the Macro menu. 3. Press the Zoom In/Out buttons or tap the corresponding icon on the touchscreen to select ON or OFF. Note: It is recommended to turn off the macro function in video mode. It will affect the focus of the shooting and will cause unintended blurriness. White Balance (Camera Mode) This setting is used to adjust the white balancing and colour of the photograph based on the light setting in a scene. 2. Tap the AWB icon on the screen to enter the White Balance menu. available: Auto, Daylight, Cloudy, Fluorescent or Tungsten Colour (Camera Mode) This setting is used to add a colour filter overlay on the photo when capturing a photo. 2. Tap the COLOUR icon on the screen to enter the Colour menu. available: Standard, Sepia, Monochrome and Vivid Burst Mode (Camera Mode) This setting allows for burst or continuous shooting once you press the shutter button. 2. Tap the BURST MODE icon on the screen to enter the Burst Mode menu. 3. Press the Zoom In/Out buttons or tap the corresponding icon on the touchscreen to select ON or OFF. Note: If "on is selected, the icon in the left upper corner of the LCD screen will turn to the 6 icon.

7 Exposure (Camera Mode) This setting is used to manually set the exposure value to compensate for light in various scenes. 2. Tap the EXPOSURE icon on the screen to enter the Exposure menu. available: -3, -2, -1, 0, +1, +2, +3 Playback Mode This mode allows you to replay photos, audio files or videos that were captured by your camcorder. 1. Set the camcorder to Playback Mode by pressing the MODE button and then tapping directly on the PLAYBACK icon on the screen. Once in Playback mode, the Playback icon will appear in the top left. 2. Swipe the screen or press the zoom in/out buttons to cycle through all available playback files. 3. In Playback mode, you can delete or protect your photos, and delete and protect the videos. Note: If no media file is saved in the memory, a message "No file" will display on the LCD screen. Deleting You can delete any unwanted photos to free up memory. You can delete one photo at a time or all of the unprotected photos saved on the SD card at once. 1. In Playback mode, press the MENU button or touch the MENU icon on the screen. 2. Touch the screen and select the delete icon. 3. Touch the screen and select this photo (the currently selected) or all (all the unprotected). 4. Tap the green arrow key to confirm the setting 5. A confirmation message Delete? will display on the screen. Select "Yes" to delete the file(s) or select "No" to cancel. Protecting You can set this function to protect your photos from being deleted by misuse or accident. 1. In Playback mode, press the MENU button or touch the MENU icon on the screen. 2. Touch the screen and select the Protect icon. 3. Touch the screen and select from the following settings: Lock Current, Unlock Current, Lock All or Unlock All 4. Tap the green arrow key to confirm the setting Note: If Lock Current is selected, the lock icon will display on the LCD screen above the currently selected photo. Select unlock current to unprotect this file as described in Step 3. Video Clips Playback 1. Enter Playback mode by pressing the MODE button and then tapping directly on the PLAYBACK icon on the screen. 2. Swipe the screen or press the Zoom In/Out buttons to cycle through available media and select the video file you want to playback. 3. Tap the icon on the screen to play the file. 4. Tap the screen again to pause the playback. 5. During video playback, press the Zoom In/Out buttons to increase/decrease playback volume. 5. Press the shutter button at the back of the camcorder to stop playback and return to Video mode. Settings Mode In this mode, you can set the language, time, mute, auto power off, frequency, TV mode, formatting and default settings. Language The camcorder supports 13 languages, including English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Turkish, Russian, Portuguese, Dutch, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese and Polish. 3. Select LANGUAGE and press the Zoom In/Out buttons or tap the corresponding icon on the touchscreen to select a language. 7

8 Mute (Silent Mode) Sound on your camcorder is enabled by default, you can use the mute function to disable it. 3. Tap the SILENT MODE icon on the screen to enter the menu. 4. Touch the screen and select on or off. 5. Tap the green arrow key to confirm the setting and exit this menu. 6. Tap the green arrow key again to revert back to your main viewing screen. Auto Off You can set the auto power off time to help save battery charges. After setting the auto off time, the camera will turn off automatically if no operation is performed. 3. Tap the AUTO OFF icon on the screen to enter the menu. 4. Press the Zoom In/Out buttons or tap the corresponding icon on the touchscreen to select a setting. 5. Tap the green arrow key to confirm the setting and exit this menu. 6. Tap the green arrow key again to revert back to your main viewing screen. Note: If Off is selected, the camera will turn off automatically when the battery is out of power. Frequency Generally 50Hz is for European countries and Asia. The 60Hz setting is for USA and countries in the same region. The default is 50HZ. 3. Tap the FREQUENCY icon on the screen to enter the menu. 4. Touch the screen and select 50Hz or 60Hz. 5. Tap the green arrow key to confirm the setting and exit this menu. 6. Tap the green arrow key again to revert back to your main viewing screen. TV Mode Connect your camcorder to a TV using the HDMI cable provided. Default Settings If your camera is corrupt, or you would like to reset to the default settings, you can set this function to restore all the settings to the factory default. 3. Tap the DEFAULT icon on the screen to enter the menu. 4. Touch the screen and select YES or NO. 4. Once the operation is complete, you will be returned back to the setup menu. 5. Tap the green arrow key on the bottom to revert back to your main viewing screen. Download Files to Your Computer 1. Connect your camcorder to a computer with the included USB cable 2. Select MSDC and press PHOTO capture button on the top of the camcorder. 3. On your computer, go into My Computer from the Start menu. Look under the Removable Disk or Devices with Removable Storage group, and the name of your memory card will be displayed. 4. Double click on Removable Disk or the name of your memory card, and continue through the categorized folders until you can access your media. 5. You may now highlight all the files you wish to transfer to your computer. 8
