Preface How to Use This Guide This manual is intended to give instructions to persons who are responsible for installing, configuring and operating the DVS2000 Series Conventions The following symbols and notations are used throughout this document: Warning! To reach technical support On the Web: Click Support tab on By phone: (909) Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 5:30 PM PST Safety Warnings and Information Electrical shock hazard Never attempt to connect the unit to any power source other than the type for which it was intended. Use only the power supply provided. Never open the casing! If a fault occurs, disconnect the power supply unit from the mains supply and from all other devices. Install the unit and power it on only in dry, weather-protected areas. If safe operation of the unit cannot be guaranteed, remove it from service. This might happen if: there is visible damage to the unit or power cables the unit no longer works properly the unit has been exposed to rain or moisture foreign matter has infiltrated the unit the unit has been stored in improper conditions the unit has been exposed to a high level of stress during transport In such cases, contact TDS Technical Support. Installation and operation Always comply with relevant electrical guidelines. Before installing or operating the unit, make sure you have read and understood the documentation for all other equipment connected to it (e.g. cameras, analog monitors, etc.). Follow the installation and operating procedures described in this manual. Failure to do so may result in personal injuries, property damage or damage to the equipment. Maintenance and repair Never open the casing of the Linda Series unit. It does not contain parts that you can repair or replace. Never open the housing of the power supply unit. The power supply unit does not contain parts that you can repair or replace. Ensure that all maintenance or repair work is performed exclusively by qualified personnel (electrical technicians). 6 Ch. 2. Overview Overview TOPS DVS2000 Series are supreme network video software. Utilizing the cutting edge H.264 compression technology, TOPS DVS2000 Series allow users to easily operate and configure streaming images. The primary functions are encoding or decoding video, audio and control data, converting them from analog to digital formats and vice versa. Features LIVE Viewer Search: Normal, Panorama PTZ: Mouse Drag Zoom & PTZ V-MAP AVI, JPEG, BMP Image backup and original system backup Requirements for Configuration Computer with Windows XP SP2 or better operating system Video Capture Board Access to a network. Operation DVS2000 Login Screen After installation is finishes, a dialogue box for Log-in will appear on the screen Item Function Description 1 User Name Type User Name 2 Password Type Password 3 Enter Press after typing user name and password 4 Cancel Cancel Login 5 Keyboard Virtual Keyboard may be used if PC is not equipped with physical keyboard Procedure 1. Type User Name and Password 2. Click Enter button to complete Log-In process. The Main Screen for DVS will appear. NOTE: Use Virtual Keyboard button if physical keyboard is not available. 9 Log In Accessibility of DVS2000 Access Management Management of user accounts and rights are performed on ICMS. User Accounts User account can be managed to protect the configuration of devices by restricting its access to them. User account must be configured on ICMS first then you can access DVS 2000 System Graphic User Interference (GUI). Types of User Accounts Administrator has all rights without restriction in access to the device Guest Only has access to LIVE view and basic status in the GUI. 10 4.2 Live Mode This section will describe features and operation of DVS2000 Live Mode. 12 4.2.2 External Monitor Control To display camera on external monitor A. Drag the camera from the camera list, then drop it to the monitor that you want it to be displayed. Monitor control is available for both Live and Search and View Mode B. Also, you can right mouse click on a channel in Live or Search Mode. Display to Menu will appear. Simply select the monitor number you want to display the video to Note: The monitor ID is located on the top left corner of each monitor, you may mark the ID on your corresponding physical monitor. 13 4.3 Setup Setting button allows the user to specify IP Address of ICMS and other conditions to configure with ICMS System Setting Set Network conditions Primary Server IP address: The IP address of Primary Server. Secondary Server IP address: The IP address of Backup Server. NOTE: This is for Redundant operation. If primary server fails, secondary server will automatically pick up and continue to operate. Click the button to save the settings. Click the button to end the session and return to Live Main Screen Tops Digital Solutions DVS 2000 Series Ver
14 4.3.2 Motion Detection Area and Sensitivity Level The user can define up to 7 motion detection areas sensitive levels for each area per each camera. 1. Select a Camera from Camera Tree on the left pane of the window. 2. Full: Selects entire camera view area as motion detection area (default setting) Add motion area: allows user to define custom area for motion detection using mouse Delete selected motion area: Deletes previously set motion area Delete Selected motion area: Deletes selected motion area highlighted in red 3. Set Sensitivity level. Each individual area can have different sensitivity level from 1 ~ 25. Default value is 12. Lower the number more sensitive or detects better 4. Test Current Motion Settings: Test motion detection area and sensitivity level as needed. Area will turn from green to red as it detects motion. Turn off Test prior to making changes. 5. Once, motion detection area and sensitivity has been adjusted click on Update current motion setting to ICMS. 6. Repeat step 1 to 5 for each additional cameras as needed NOTE: Motion settings can be updated or modified from DVS to ICMS and /or from ICMS to DVS vice versa. 15 4.3.3 Group Setup (Camera) Cameras can be assigned to specific group and sub-groups for easier management. User can add, delete, and edit group 1. Type Name for your group. 2. Drag and drop camera to assign it to the group. Camera will now appear below that group name. 3. Click Update to ICMS to save the setting. To Add sub-group, Highlight group, type group name then click add to add it to that group Sub-group of sub-group can be added using same method To Delete Group or Sub-Group All cameras or sub-group must be deleted prior to removing group or sub-group To Re-assign camera or sub-group to different group or sub-group Simply drag and drop camera or sub-group to desired group or sub-group. Sub-group must not have any sub-sub-group or camera assigned to it for it to be moved To Edit Group or sub-group name Simply highlight the group or sub-group name. Make changes in Edit Group Name box then click NOTE: Camera can be only assigned to one group or sub-group at a time. Sub-group name should not be duplicated within the group. 16 4.3 Search and Back Up Search and Back Up mode will allow user to search and back up video for evidence and archive purpose Layout Overview Item Function Description 1 Camera Tree Displays list of cameras with available data by year and month 2 Calendar Displays a current month and dates with data indicated in RED 3 Backup Menu Image Print, Image Save, Video Save, and Panoramic Play 4 Display Layout Display Layout controls: Single View, Quad View, Rotate and Enlarged view 5 Time Line Available video data indicated by colored bar in units of hour, minute, second. 6 Play Control Control playback of saved video 7 Sync Video Time Synchronizes up 4 selected channels with 1 selected channel Tops Digital Solutions DVS 2000 Series Ver
17 4.3.2 Searching Search and Back Up will start with single channel mode as a default. User can change the view to Quad View to search up to 4 channels of video at a time. Sync feature allows user to Time Synchronize all 4 videos to selected channel for faster search To search video 1. Select a Channel from Camera Tree on the left of the screen 2. Select a Year/Month 3. Select a Date from Calendar 4. Select Hour, Minute, Second from Time Line. 5. Double click or Drag and Drop it to Display 6. Repeat steps 1 to 5 for up to 3 additional channels 7. You can use Sync after step 1 on other 3 channels to automatically time synchronize them Saving Still Image Still Image Save feature allows the user to save still images in either JPG or BMP format. Unlike Print function, Image Save function only allow saving of one channel image at a time. 1. Search and select image you want to save. Pause the playback (recommended) 2. Press Still Save. 3. Select File type you want to save it as. 4. Select location you want to save to. If you intend to use CD/DVD, be sure to insert blank CD or DVD ROM in to the drive. 5. Select Directory Path. 18 4.3.4 Saving Video Clip - Backup Backup video feature will allow clip of video(s) to be saved on Hard Drive, Floppy, CD, or DVD as standalone playable Native, AVI, or DVD format. Up to 4 channels of either Time Synced or Non- Time Synced clips can be saved at once. Length of the video will only be limited by the storage medium being used. 1. Once the beginning of the video clip has been located (refer to section 3.2.2) press Backup button 2. Select Channels to be backed up 3. Specify Duration - start time will be automatically filled in from step Select Backup type: Original Data Format - Native format for Linda system. AVI - Standard AVI format playable with Windows Media Player 9 or higher DVD - Standard DVD format playable in regular DVD player 5. Select Media Type - Hard Drive, CD, DVD 6. Select Directory Path - Optional for organization purpose 7. Specify Folder Name - Required 8. Press Save and wait for Backup Complete message. 19 4.3.5 Printing Still Image The user can print hard copy of image(s) directly from search mode by pressing Print button Item Function Description 1 Print Print Setup will be displayed. Select printer and printer settings to print selected channel(s). 2 Select Channel Select Printable Channel(s) from 1 to 4. Channel 1 will be selected by default 3 Print Layout Select number of channels to print per page 4 Page Previous and Next Page 5 Image Information Image information that corresponds to the image being printed 6 Comments User can note comments for each page Tops Digital Solutions DVS 2000 Series Ver
20 4.3.6 Panoramic Search Panoramic search allows frame by frame display of still images of the video for more accurate search of an event. Panoramic search is only available one channel at a time. Display of each frame will depend on recorded frame of the video. NOTE: Panoramic search is only available one channel at a time. 1. Select a camera and click Panoramic Search Button. 2. Hit Play. 3. Each frame will be displayed in sequence up to 12 frames at a time 4. Stop at any time and use Play control buttons to locate a frame(s). 5. Select a image(s) you want to save. Selected image will highlighted with yellow border 6. User can click on Still Image to save selected image(s). 21 4.4 Search and View This mode will allow user to search and view multiple channels at a time. Unlike Search and Back up mode, simultaneous view of Live and Search video is possible. Search and view is useful for searching while continuing to monitor critical live view Item Function Description 1 Date Displays current date and time on live mode 2 Camera List Lists of cameras connected and available for live/search 3 Display Area Displays 1 to maximum 16 channels of camera images at the same time 4 Calendar Calendar. 22 4.4.1 Searching User can change the view to any of the screen split view available to search and playback. Sync feature allows user to Time Synchronize all of the displays in search mode. To search recorded video: 1. Select a Channel from Camera Tree on the left of the screen 2. Select a Year/Month and drop it on to any of displays available or 3. Select a Date from Calendar then 4. Select Hour, Minute, Second from Time Line. 5. Double click or Drag and Drop it to Display 6. Repeat steps 1 to 5 for up to all available display channels 7. You can use Time Sync after step 1 to automatically time synchronize all displays in search mode. To Return to Live view Mode: 1. Press Live Mode All Channels that were in Search Mode will automatically return to Live Mode. To Return a channel to Live view Mode: 1. Select a channel that is in Search Mode. It will be highlighted with red box 2. Press Search -> Live Button 3. User can repeat for other channels that needs to return to Live Mode External Monitor Control As in Live Mode (Section 4.2.2), user can display a video in search mode on any of available external monitor such as video wall or larger monitor. To display camera on external monitor A. Drag available time (year/month) from the camera list, then drop it to the monitor that you want it to be displayed. Use Time Line to perform more finer search. B. Video can be displayed by directly dragging and dropping from Time Line instead from Camera List C. Also, you can right mouse click on a channel in Search Mode. Display to Menu will appear. Simply select the monitor number you want to display the video to To Return a Monitor to Live view Mode: 1. Select a monitor that is in Search Mode. It will be highlighted with red box 2. Press Search -> Live Button 3. User can repeat for other monitor that needs to return to Live Mode. 23 4.5 Monitor Rotation Control screen divi- Monitor Rotation Control will allow view of cameras in sequence in bigger or less sion view. Auto Rotate Custom Rotate Manual Rotate Full Screen Function Manual Rotate Auto Rotate Full Screen Custom Auto Rotation Description It will display next cameras in sequence each time it is pressed It will start auto rotation of camera in sequence Enlarges all camera views to fit screen without menu or tool bars. Press Right click on the mouse to return to normal screen User can specify cameras, Interval Time, and sequence of cameras to be displayed in each channel Custom Auto Rotation To setup Custom Auto Rotation 1. Select display channel to set up Custom Rotation 2. Press Customs Rotation to bring up box as show on the left 3. Highlight a camera to be added to the list then Press +. You can also drag and drop camera to list using mouse 4. Specify interval time (dwell time) for each camera or you can specify same interval and apply to all by pressing Set All 5. When you have finished selecting press Update camera rotation list to ICMS. A dialog box should appear to confirm update. 6. Press Start Camera Rotation to start 7. 24 4.6 VMAP Virtual Map (VMAP) allows the user to virtually view and manage cameras on a graphical map or diagram of building or a location Item Function Description 1 Map Tree Displays list of available maps 2 Information Describes map information 3 Mini Map Minimized view of Map 4 Function Buttons Various functions can be selected 5 One Channel Viewer Live or Search view of each camera Tops Digital Solutions DVS 2000 Series Ver
25 4.6.1 Mini Map Mini Map displays current VMAP in minimized scale for your convenience To move locations on the mini map, click and mini map. To Hide Mini Map To hide/ remove the mini map from display, click move to desired locations from the will hide the mini map. 26 4.6.2 VMap Function Buttons Button Function Description Default Map Position Sets the map to the default map position Zoom In / Out Zoom in/out the map Move Map page Move to previous and next map page Event Log Camera Information All saved events are listed in the event log. The user may filter and sort events to search desired event. Displays information on cameras that are displayed on VMAP. 1 Channel Viewer A separate 1 channel viewer will appear with advanced features such as search, live view, etc. Set-Up Allows the user to set-up the setting for the VMAP Turn Off Turn off VMAP mode. 27 4.6.3 Event Log Event log displays all previous events from up to 2 years of data in file. Date and time can be arranged to locate events from event list. Located events will appear on the event field To Select Date and Time of Events All previous events are listed up to two years. Click on down arrow to arrange Date, start time and end time to search events. 28 To Filter Events Events can be filtered and sorted by classification of events. Select from Motion, Sensor, Video Loss and Etc to classify events. NOTE: You may also select ALL to display all events without classification. Once select classified events, click on to search events. 29 To view event To view individual event, a separate 1 channel view can appear as a separate dialog box. To call 1 channel dialog box, choose from two options. - Double click on event from event list. - Click on An 1 channel viewer will appear as a separate dialog box. 30 4.7 PTZ Control The user may control PTZ ( Pan/ Tilt/ Zoom) cameras that are displayed. NOTE: The control field does not become active until a displayed PTZ camera is selected on the display image area. Icon Description The user can view and select presets from the list After preset selection. User can click on go button or Add/Delete presets. Gives PTZ tour Adjust image contrast level Zoom in/ Zoom out Adjust Focus Sets PTZ speed Adjust PTZ camera to all directions. The user can both use direction arrows and the ball cursor. To use the ball cursor, press the left of your mouse and move to direction you desire. If no dome camera or pan/tilt camera has been selected, the control field will be inactive. 31 4.8 Screen Preset Screen preset allows the user to set remote stations and monitor. A selection field appears in the list below the arrow. New list of field can be created or deleted. To Select Preset Click down arrow and select desired preset from the list. Selected preset will be high lighted in dark blue. Click ( Go ) button after you select from preset list. Selected preset field will be displayed. To Create New Preset The user may create a new preset and add to preset list. Click and type a new preset name. Click below will Save your new typed preset on the list. And a new dialog box will appear as Click OKAY button to save a new preset on the list. NOTE: Saved preset will appear in the list next time when you open preset bar. Click on down arrow Select preset that you want to display on image area. and Tops Digital Solutions DVS 2000 Series Ver
32 To Delete Preset from the List You can also delete preset that you have created from the list. Select the preset you want to delete from the list. Click after you select your preset from the list. A new dialog box will appear as below: Click OKAY button on the dialog box. NOTE: This will delete assigned preset from the list.
