6 Overview Overview Fetures The PMW-F55/F5 is highly compct, lightweight nd high-performnce CineAlt 4K cmer with 4K Super 35mm equivlent Singlechip CMOS imge sensor. The PMW-F55 s CMOS imge sensor with frme imge scn function llows you to shoot cler 4K imges without rolling shutter distortion or flsh bnd phenomenon, for perfect HD recording performnce. The PMW-F5 s 4K imge sensor llows you to record high qulity HD pictures. You cn record in SR SStP/MPEG2 HD video formt, in ddition to the new 4K-comptible formt, XAVC, by using n SxS memory crd. 4K RAW dt cn be recorded by using the portble memory recorder, AXS-R5/AXS-R7, which dopts the newly developed ccess memory crd (AXSM). The cmcorder dopts the sme ntive FZ mount used by the PMW-F3. You cn use vriety of cine lenses (PL mount) so tht the PL/FZ conversion dptor comes stndrd. By using the optionl LA-FZB1/LA-FZB2 mount dpter, the B4 lens tht is widely used for brodcsting cn be ttched. You cn use your lens librries with this cmcorder. Comptible with multi formt The cmcorder is comptible with the new formt, XAVC (officil nme: MPEG4 AVC/ H.264 Hi422 Profiles/Level 5.2), nd cn record 4K: , QFHD: , 2K: , HD: The cmcorder is lso comptible with frme rtes from 23.98P to 59.94P. For high-speed shooting, you cn record 1 fps to 60 fps for XAVC recording in the S & Q mode. The recommended medi for XAVC recording is the newly developed SxS PRO+ memory crd. The cmcorder is lso comptible with SStP SR- SQ 444, SR-SQ 422, nd SR-Lite 422 tht re dopted for HDCAM-SR, or MPEG2 HD 422 tht is dopted for XDCAM. Your workflow cn be used. If you instll the CBK-55PD to the PMW-F55/F5, you cn record in the Apple ProRes nd Avid DNxHD codec. High frme rte (HFR) recording with up to 240 FPS Using the cmcorder with the AXS-R5/AXS-R7 llows you to perform 2K RAW recording with up to 240 FPS. You cn use 2K/HD to record up to 180 FPS to the SxS memory crd on the cmcorder without the AXS-R5/AXS-R7. The cmcorder hs two scn modes for high frme rte. In the first mode, you cn shoot with the full ngle of the CMOS imge sensor equivlent to the Super 35 mm size, nd use the lens with the focl length set for norml shooting of high frme rte recording. In the second mode, you cn shoot with the center re of the CMOS imge sensor equivlent to the Super 35 mm size (cut to Super 16 mm size). Modulr structure The cmcorder incorportes modulr design tht llows you to configure the cmcorder ccording to shooting circumstnces, whether for cinem production, drm, commercils, 3D shooting, documentry filming, interviews, etc. The hndle, viewfinder, udio connector pnel, RAW recorder, nd build up kit cn be ttched/ removed esily ccording to shooting requirements. The body nd hndle of the cmcorder hve multiple 1/4 nd 3/8 mount points, to which you cn ttch stndrd ccessories. Other fetures 4K Super 35mm equivlent CMOS imge sensor The cmcorder hs 4K Super 35mm equivlent Single-chip CMOS imge sensor of 11,600,000 pixels, with effective pixels count of 8,900,000, for 4K/HD recording. The CMOS imge sensor of the PMW-F55 includes frme imge scn function tht llows you to shoot cler imges without rolling shutter distortion or flsh bnd phenomenon tht occurs with trditionl film cmer. The cmcorder dopts color filter tht emphsizes color reproduction comptible with wide color re 6 Fetures

Wide ltitude, low noise The cmcorder hs 14-stop ltitude tht cn reproduce imges cptured by the CMOS sensor with smooth grdtion of blck to white. Exmor Super35 CMOS technology provides low noise levels, even with 4K resolution nd 14-stop ltitude mintined. A wide vriety of recording functions The cmcorder hs the Intervl Rec function tht llows you to record frmes specified t regulr intervls nd the Cche Rec function tht llows you to begin recording specified number of seconds in dvnce of the time tht cn be used for vriety of situtions. * Nme formt: HG + 3 digits of dynmic rnge vlue + the unit digit of white limit + G + video output vlue with 18% gry crd You cn select dynmic rnge from mong 325%, 460%, nd 800%. You cn select 109% or 100% for the mximum vlue of video output (White Limit). You cn select the video output vlue with 18% gry crd from two vlues. Comptible with the next genertion wide color rnge stndrd, ITU-R BT.2020 PMW-F55 is comptible with the next genertion wide color rnge stndrd, ITU-R BT.2020, nd you cn select this when recording using XAVC 4K or QFHD. As the bove, you cn select the SDI output of the 4K/QFHD signl. Overview Video signl processing 4K/HD simultneous recording nd high-speed recording with unlimited recording time is possible with single LSI chip processing of both cmer signls nd bsebnd video signls. Single-chip design provides stble, high-speed 4K 59.94P bsebnd video processing, low power consumption, nd compct design. Gmm curves corresponding to vrious situtions The cmcorder hs vriety of gmm curves corresponding to vrious situtions. S-Log2 nd S-Log3 re equipped to cover wide ltitude of the cmcorder. The cmcorder lso hs user gmm nd hyper gmm. The user gmm cn instll nd use the gmm curve tht is mde by CvpFileEditorTM V4.2. The hyper gmm cn disply the wide dynmic rnge imges in smooth contrst without using the knee function. The PMW-F55/F5 provides the following six hyper gmm choices: Avilble hyper gmm choices No. Nme* Dynmic rnge White limit Video output with 18% gry crd (video input 20%) 1 HG3250G36 325% 100% 36% 2 HG4600G30 460% 100% 30% 3 HG3259G40 325% 109% 40% 4 HG4609G33 460% 109% 33% 7 HG8009G40 800% 109% 40% 8 HG8009G33 800% 109% 33% Monitor LUT on/off function for ech output By dividing the video output signl (including the internl recorded signl) into 3 types, you cn set Monitor LUT to on/off for ech type independently.
