3 1 Introduction One of the aims of the REWIND project is the dissemination and promotion of research results toward researchers, institutions, companies that potentially could use them to realize new products, services or increase their knowledge in the areas in which the REWIND tools may have practical applications. To work in this direction, among other actions, a specific activity was planned in the Annex I of the Grant Agreement (Description of Work, DoW). This activity is the REWIND workshop that is a specific deliverable of the project (D6.4, category: other). In the DoW it was planned that the workshop would take place between month 30 and month 33 of the project. This choice was motivated by the fact that in the last period of the project a large part of the expected project results would be available for dissemination. It was decided to organize the REWIND workshop in Milan (due to the fact the Politecnico di Milano is the Project Coordinator) on November 12, 2013 (month 31). 4 2 The REWIND Workshop Program As indicated in the DoW there are several areas in which the REWIND technologies and tools can have significant applications and uses. Among these areas, audio-video and multimedia forensics has a main role. Moreover, the trustworthiness of multimedia User Generated Contents (UGCs) currently shared on the Social Networks and in general on the Internet is thematic of great interest for anyone and also a great challenge for the REWIND project. On the basis of this, for the REWIND workshop it was decided the following title: Digital Doctoring: how to tell the real from the fake The workshop program was prepared by the REWIND partners in collaboration with Prof. Giovanni Ziccardi, Founder and Director of the post-graduate Course in Computer Forensics and Digital Investigations at the University of Milan. M. Barni, Prof. P. Dragotti) have illustrated what REWIND has done to solve the highlighted open problems. FP7-ICT (REWIND) Page 4 of 8

5 The workshop took place at the Sala Napoleonica - Palazzo Greppi, Via Sant'Antonio 12, Milano, which is located in the Downtown Campus of the University of Milan. Fig. 1. 6 3 Workshop publicity Since September 2013 the workshop had been advertised on the REWIND website and invitations had been sent by using the REWIND newsletter mailing list. Moreover, the communication offices of the REWIND partners advertised the workshop. Prof. Ziccardi also publicized the workshop among the alumni of his Course in Computer Forensics and Digital Investigations. In total, 95 registrations to the workshop were collected. Registered persons come from: Universities and Research Institutes; Police departments; Companies active in the field of video-surveillance, investigations and image-video analysis; Law Firms On line magazines FP7-ICT (REWIND) Page 6 of 8

7 4 The day of the Workshop On November 12, 2013 the REWIND workshop took place regularly with the presence of more than 90 attendees. Fig. 3. Prof. Mauro Barni during his presentation. The participants expressed a great interest to all the topics addressed during the workshop and also the REWIND tools and techniques connected to the REWIND demos showcased during the lunch break. 8 5 Workshop Follow-up Affiliations and addresses of all the people registered to the workshop were collected and they will be used (with their approval) to disseminate the REWIND results. News relative to the REWIND workshop appeared on different on-line magazines and blogs. Among them: Moreover the materials used by the speakers during their presentations are now downloadable from the REWIND website. All the registered people have been informed of this.
