3 1 Safety information 1.1 Precaution before using the tester 1) Please read the user manual before using the product. 2) Please check the input and output range of voltage or current at every input and output ports before connecting, so that the tester can not be overloaded / damaged. 3) Operation environment: Working temperature: -10 C~+60 C (battery discharge) 0 C~+45 C (battery charge) -30 C~+70 C (only for power adaptor) Humidity 30%~90% Voltage: DC9V/2000mA 1.2 Precautions when using the tester 1) Do not use the tester in damp humidity or leaking gas environment. 2) Do not touch the tester with wet hands. 3) Do not shock or shake the tester while in use to avoid damage. 4) Avoid using the tester in the places of strong magnetism or electric wave. 5) Do not expose the ports or joints to dirt or liquid. 6) Do not disassemble the tester. About Digital Multi-meter 1) Before testing, check the connection of probe. 2) When measuring, do not input over maximum limit, or burned. 3) When measuring DC Voltage >60V, AC Voltage >40V should take care, or get a shock. 4) When changing to another test, the probes should leave the tested thing. 5) Prohibit probes measure voltage on current terminal. 1

4 6) Choose the correct function, do not in wrong operation. 1.3 Precautions for battery charging and using 1) Use only original chargeable battery with the tester, when charge the battery, please use the original power adapter. 2) Make sure not to disorient the polarization of batteries. 3) Do not short-circuit or disassemble batteries. 4) Battery stock environment: -5 C~+45 C, relative humidity: 65±20% RH (within 1 month) -5 C~+35 C, relative humidity: 65±20% RH (within 3months) 0 C~+35 C, relative humidity: 65±20% RH (within 6 months) 5) When the battery needs long-term stock, ensure charging the battery in half capacity (voltage: 7.2~7.8V, capacity display: 50%~75%), then charge and discharge the battery in every 3 months. 2 Introduction 2.1 Feature and functions 1) Video test 3.5 inch LCD screen, display the video signal and the quality of picture. Video signal system PAL/NTSC could be auto suitable. 2) PTZ control The unit has the basic operation test of PTZ products, functions include pan/tilt, zoom in/out, preset setting and operation, auto scanning, speed adjustment etc; support multi-protocol and baud rate, communication via RS485 port. Protocol include: Pelco D/P and so on. 3) DC12V/1A output The CCTV Tester could supply power DC12V/1A to camera. 4) Audio test It can test the audio device when connected the camera. 2

(Use the original power adapter.) 2) When charging, the battery indicator turns red; the light turns off after the battery is full. 3) When the light indicator turns off, the capacity of the battery is about 4

7 90%, user could be extended for 1 more hour, but do not charge more than 8 hours once. The tester could work in charging. 4) When the tester abnormal, disconnected all the cables, and press <RESET> key. Restart the tester, it could use in normal. 3.2 Function Key 1) In close state, press <POWER> key 3 seconds to boot. 2) In work state, press <POWER> key 3 seconds to shut down. 3) In any kind of functions state, press <SET> key to set parameters. 3.3 Main Menu Press<POWER>to boot the tester, enter the main menu. Remark: Press direction key (up, down, left and right) to choose the menu, then press <Enter/OPEN> key enters the sub-menu System Setup Choose, press <Enter/OPEN> key enter the menu, the menu as below: 5

V1.0 Setting Parameters: Press <SET> key, then use UP or DOWN direction key to choose the parameter option, use LEFT or RIGHT key revise the parameters, after revise, press <Enter/OPEN> to save the parameters; press <Return/CLOSE> exit the menu. Remark: 1) The battery shows the current capacity, user could not change the data. 2) Version No. could not be changed. 3) PTZ Speed range: 001~016 4) Idle time: 000~010 minutes could be set. In standby status, after 30 minutes, user doesn t operate the tester; it will be shut off automatically. Set 000 means not standby and will be not shut off Video and PTZ Control Menu Choose, press <Enter/OPEN> enter the video and PTZ Control menu, when the tester is connected with video, the screen will display the scene of 6

9 surveillance device. 1) PTZ Control Connected with the surveillance device and tester, UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT direction key control the PTZ camera s direction, <TELE/WIDE> key control Zoom, <FAR/NEAR> key control Focus, <Enter/OPEN> key and <Return/CLOSE> key control Iris. 2) Setting Preset In PTZ Control mode, press <SET> key enter preset setting menu: VIDEO AND PTZ CONTROL SET PRESET 000 Left/Right direction key chooses the preset No. ; < SET>: save the setting and exit the setting menu; <Enter/OPEN>: save the setting but not exit the menu; <Set> +<Enter/OPEN>: back to the main menu. Remark: Press Left/Right direction key not lose, it will diminishing or increasing 10 numbers. Press Up/Down direction key, it will be diminishing or increasing 50 numbers. In this state, user could not control the PTZ and zoom camera. 3) Calling Preset In PTZ Control mode, press <MODE > key enter preset calling menu: VIDEO AND PTZ CONTROL CALL PRESET 000 Left/Right direction key chooses the preset No. ; 7

10 < MODE>: Calling the preset and exit the menu; <Enter/OPEN>: save the setting but not exit the menu; <MODE > +<Return/CLOSE>: back to the main menu. Remark: Press Left/Right direction key not lose, it will diminishing or increasing 10 numbers. Press Up/Down direction key, it will be diminishing or increasing 50 numbers. In this state, user could not control the PTZ and zoom camera. 4) Setting Protocol, Baud Rate, Address and PTZ Speed In PTZ Control mode, press <MODE > 3 seconds, enter the menu: VIDEO AND PTZ CONTROL PROTOCOL PELCD-D COM 485 BAUD RATE 2400 PTZ SPEED 016 SET ADD 001 PAL/NTSC NULL < SET>: change the parameters; Up/Down direction key choose the <SET ADD>; Left/Right direction key choose the corresponding address parameter; <Enter/OPEN>: save the setting; <MODE>: exit the current setting; <Return/CLOSE>: back to the main menu. Remark: Press Left/Right direction key not lose, it will diminishing or increasing 10 numbers. 8

11 In this state, user could not control the PTZ and zoom camera. The red test lead to the V/ Ω jack, the black test lead to the COM jack; B. Choose the AC Voltage, and then it could measure. 2 DC Voltage Measuring: A. The red test lead to the V/ Ω jack, the black test lead to the COM jack; B. Choose the DC Voltage, then it could measure. 3 AC Current (10A) Measuring: A. The red test lead to the 10A jack, the black test lead to the COM jack; B. Choose the AC Current (10A), then it could measure. 9

12 4 AC Current (ma) Measuring: A. The red test lead to the ma jack, the black test lead to the COM jack; B. Choose the AC Current (ma), then it could measure. 5 DC Current (10A) Measuring: A. The red test lead to the 10A jack, the black test lead to the COM jack; B. Choose the DC Current (10A), then it could measure. 6 DC Current (ma) Measuring: A. The red test lead to the ma jack, the black test lead to the COM jack; B. Choose the DC Current (ma), then it could measure. 7 Resistance Measuring: A. The red test lead to the V/ Ω jack, the black test lead to the COM jack; B. Choose Resistance, and then it could measure. 8 Capacitance Measuring: A. The red test lead to the V/ Ω jack, the black test lead to the COM jack; B. Choose Capacitance, and then it could measure. 9 Diode Measuring: A. The red test lead to the V/ Ω jack, the black test lead to the COM jack; B. Choose Diode, and then it could measure. 10 Low Resistance Measuring: A. The red test lead to the V/ Ω jack, the black test lead to the COM jack; B. Choose Low Resistance, and then it could measure RS485 Data Test Choose, press <Enter/OPEN> enter the menu, user should set the correct baud rate in system setup menu before using this function. 485 DATA TEST 10

14 UTP CABLE TEST X Left Numbers: Tester UTP CABLE Sequence Right Numbers: 1: testing box cable order X: disconnect 36: 3, 6 short-circuit Address Searching Under the condition of knowing the protocol and baud rate could search the PTZ Camera address. 1) Choose, press <Enter/OPEN> enter the menu: ADDRESS SEARCH PROTOCOL PELCD-D COM 485 BAUD RATE 2400 START ADD 001 DIRECTION RIGHT AREA SEARCH

15 <PROTOCOL>: The protocol of control device. <COM>: The communication of control device. <BAUD RATE>: The baud rate of control device. <START ADD>: The start address before searching, range: 000~255 <DIRECTION>: Inspect the camera rotates direction, turn left or right. <AREA>: Search the address range, user could not change. Remark: Protocol, communication, baud rate could not revise in the menu; user could change them in system setup menu. 2) Press <SET>, the number beside the <SEARCH> is blinking. 3) Press<Enter/OPEN>, the number beside the <SEARCH> begin increasing when user found the camera start rotate or stop, press<enter/open>, until the <AREA> address range are the same. For example: <AREA> , that means the camera address is 007, user could enter the PTZ control menu revise the <SET ADD> number as the same as the searching number to check whether it is correct. Remark: The default searching start address is 001, direction is turn right, user could change it to left/right in a work situation. 4) Change Start Address User could use Up/Down direction key to move the cursor to the <START ADD>, Left/Right direction key choose the parameter, such as 007, then the search area is 007~255, then operate it as the (3) operation. 5) Change Direction User could use Up/Down direction key to move the cursor to the <DIRECTION>, Left/Right direction key choose the parameter, user select the opposite direction according to the PTZ motion state. For example, the PTZ move to left, user should select right, then operate as the (3) operation. 13
