7 Installing the Application on Your Mobile Device Two factors determine how you install the Avaya one-x Mobile application on your mobile device your mobile phone model and your mobile carrier. Each mobile carrier has different methods for distributing new applications to its mobile customers, regardless of the phones they use. Carrier-specific instructions are included in this chapter. Also provided is the procedure to set up your account which must be performed before you can use the Avaya one-x Mobile application. Pre-installation requirements Before you begin the installation: You must know your mobile carrier, mobile device manufacturer, model name, and model number. You must set up your Avaya one-x Mobile account. See Set up your account on page 8. After you set up your account on the Avaya one-x Mobile Web site, an SMS message is sent to your mobile device. The message provides instructions that include a download URL for the Avaya one-x Mobile client that corresponds to your carrier and phone model. Your mobile phone service must be enabled for data service. The Avaya one-x Mobile client uses the carrier s data channel to communicate information to and from the mobile device. To protect yourself from unexpected data charges, ensure that your data service plan provides for unlimited data usage at a fixed rate. Also, when you are traveling, familiarize yourself with the data roaming charges imposed by other mobile carriers. You should know how to: - Navigate your phone s menus - Input upper and lower case text, numbers, symbols, and any special characters included in your password - Find, Launch, and use your phone s internet browser to go to a specific URL - Install downloaded applications to your phone Avaya one-x Mobile User Guide for J2ME January

8 Installing the Application on Your Mobile Device Set up your account Before you begin using Avaya one-x Mobile Web or Avaya one-x Mobile on your mobile device, you must log in to the Avaya one-x Mobile Web site and set up your account. The procedures to log in to the Avaya one-x Mobile Web site for the first time and set up your account are provided in this section. It is recommended that you perform this procedure before installing the application on your mobile device. After you set up your account, an SMS message is sent to your mobile device. The message contains instructions and a link to download the Avaya one-x Mobile application. You will need to know the following information in order to successfully set up your account: Your corporation s Avaya one-x Mobile Web site address or URL corporate computer username and password unique ID for your desk phone (required only for shared extensions; appears on your desk phone screen) Avaya Modular Messaging mailbox password (required only if your corporate voic system uses Avaya Modular Messaging) phone number of the mobile phone you want to use with Avaya one-x Mobile Mobile phone carrier Mobile phone manufacturer (is often listed in the battery compartment of mobile phones) Mobile phone model (is often listed in the battery compartment of mobile phones) To log in to the Avaya one-x Mobile Web site for the first time and set up your account: 1. Open the Web browser on your PC. You can set up your user account only from the PC browser; you cannot set it up from the one-x Mobile browser. 2. Using http or https as advised by your system administrator, go to your corporate URL for the Avaya one-x Mobile Server. The Avaya one-x Mobile Web site login page appears. 3. In the Username field, enter your corporate computer username. 4. In the Password field, enter your corporate computer password. 5. Click the Log In button. 6. Enter the Modular Messaging password. 9 Set up your account The Modular Messaging password prompt does not appear if the Avaya one-x Mobile Web account is configured without voic . See No Voic Configuration on page 21 for more information. 7. Read the license agreement, and then click the Accept button. 8. Select the option that exactly matches the message on the screen of your desk phone, and then click the OK button. If you have a shared phone extension, you are prompted to identify your desk phone. 9. On the Avaya one-x Mobile Setup page, enter your 10-digit mobile phone number, and then click the Next button. 10. Select your mobile carrier from the drop-down menu, and then click the Next button. 11. Select your mobile manufacturer from the drop-down menu, and then click the Next button. 12. Select your mobile model from the drop-down menu, and then click the Next button. 13. Select your operating system from the drop-down menu, and then click the Next button. 14. Turn off your mobile phone. Be sure to turn your mobile phone off. 15. Click the Office Voic Network Test button. This test may take up to 10 seconds. This test adjusts voic delivery settings so that unanswered office calls are correctly delivered to your office voic system. When the network test is successfully finished, an SMS message is sent to your mobile phone. The message contains instructions and a link to download the Avaya one-x Mobile application. 16. Depending on your carrier, see one of the following sections: Download the Avaya one-x Mobile client to phones on GSM networks on page 10 Download the Avaya one-x Mobile client to NEXTEL phones on page 11 Download the Avaya one-x Mobile client to Sprint phones on page 14 Carriers are listed in the Mobile carrier field during initial mobile sign up. During mobile phone setup, if the regional carriers are not listed on the one-x Mobile web site, in Mobile carrier field, select other to complete the mobile setup. 10 Installing the Application on Your Mobile Device Download the Avaya one-x Mobile client to phones on GSM networks If your mobile phone service is associated with a GSM phone carrier, such as AT&T, T-Mobile, O2, or Orange, use this procedure to download the Avaya one-x Mobile client Over the Air (OTA) to your mobile device. If your mobile phone has Nextel or Sprint service, see Download the Avaya one-x Mobile client to NEXTEL phones on page 11 or Download the Avaya one-x Mobile client to Sprint phones on page 14. To download the Avaya one-x Mobile client Over the Air to your GSM enabled mobile device: 1. Open the internet browser on your mobile device. 2. Enter the URL for the Avaya one-x Mobile client that is appropriate for your carrier and mobile device. There are three ways to identify this URL. Use the download URL that was provided in the SMS message you received on your mobile device after you set up your Avaya one-x Mobile account. At any time you can use your account on Avaya one-x Mobile Web to send yourself an SMS message with the download URL that is appropriate for your carrier and mobile device as follows: a. Log in to your Avaya one-x Mobile Web account on your PC. b. Navigate to Manage Mobile. c. Click on the Update one-x Mobile button. This will send an SMS message to your mobile device containing the Avaya one-x Mobile client download URL. Use the Web browser on your mobile device to install the URL as follows: a. Go to the getapp page on your Avaya one-x Mobile server, one-x Mobile server>/getapp. You can also download the one-x Mobile client from app.avaya.com. b. Follow the page navigation, selecting the carrier, manufacturer, and device model that is appropriate for your mobile device. 3. On the Download page, select the appropriate version. A download confirmation message appears. This message may indicated that the application is non-trusted. Continue with the download. 4. Select Yes. 11 Download the Avaya one-x Mobile client to NEXTEL phones 5. After the download is complete, select Save. You are prompted to confirm. 6. Select Yes. The transfer progress bar appears. When transfer is complete, a phone dependent message appears. Two options might be provided Run or Shop. Select Shop and exit the browser. Do not run the application now. 7. See Log in for first-time use on page 16. Download the Avaya one-x Mobile client to NEXTEL phones To download applications to a NEXTEL phone, you must use the web-based Mobile Application Manager. Depending on whether your phone is under your own name or covered by a corporate plan either you or your IT department will have to follow these instructions to download and install the Avaya one-x Mobile application to your NEXTEL phone. There are four main steps required to download the application to a NEXTEL phone: Download the Avaya one-x Mobile client program files from the getapp page on your Avaya one-x Mobile server to your computer. Create a MyNextel account on the Sprint server. Use the Mobile Application Manager to upload the Avaya one-x Mobile client program files to your MyNextel account. Use the Mobile Application Manager to download the Avaya one-x Mobile application from the Sprint server to your phone. Download the Avaya one-x Mobile software to your computer The Avaya one-x Mobile software for your phone is stored on the getapp pages of your corporation s one-x Mobile server one-x Mobile server>/getapp. 1. Go to one-x Mobile server>/getapp. 2. Navigate through the carrier, phone manufacturer, and phone model screens to find the right versions of the Avaya one-x Mobile software. 3. Download both the.jad and.jar files on the Download page. You can save the files anywhere on your computer just don t forget where you ve saved them. You ll need to be able to find them later to upload them to the MyNextel account you are about to create. Avaya one-x Mobile User Guide for J2ME January

12 Installing the Application on Your Mobile Device Create your MyNextel account You are about to create a MyNextel account with administrator privileges on the Sprint server. You will need the following information to do this successfully: Your NEXTEL phone number Your NEXTEL SIM number. Your SIM number is printed on your SIM card. You must remove the phone s battery and take the small SIM card of out its slot to read this number. Your NEXTEL account number Once you have this information you can continue with the account creation process: 1. Go to 2. Click on the Register for MyNextel link. (This link is located under the password field in the Manage Your Account section on the home page.) 3. Enter the required information on the MyNextel Sign Up page. Though both the phone model and account number options are listed as optional on this page, you must provide this information to use the Avaya one-x Mobile application. 4. Follow the instructions and complete the account setup process. The next time you login to your MyNextel account, you can log in from the home page. Upload Avaya one-x Mobile files using Mobile Applications Manager The Mobile Applications Manager is a Sprint service that wirelessly distributes applications to mobile phones. You will upload the Avaya one-x Mobile files to Mobile Applications Manager which will then wirelessly load the files onto your NEXTEL phone. 1. Find the Mobile Application Manager (MAM) login page: a. Open your browser and go to b. Enter Mobile Applications Manager in the search form and click search. c. Once on the Mobile Applications Manager page, locate the link to log in to the Mobile Applications Manager. 2. Log in to the Mobile Applications Manager using your MyNextel username and password. 12 Avaya one-x Mobile User Guide for J2ME January 2010

13 Download the Avaya one-x Mobile client to NEXTEL phones If this login fails you do not have administrator privileges in your MyNextel account. To add administrator privileges to your MyNextel account you must do the following: a. Login to your MyNextel account and look for the NEXTEL Tools link. This will take you to the Online Tools page. b. From the Online Tools page click Access Now. This will fail because you are not an administrator but you are presented with the Add Account option. c. Click Add Account. d. Create an administrator account. You ll need your NEXTEL account number, the last and current balances of your Nextel account, and a list of at least four phones registered under your account. e. Repeat steps 1 and 2 in this section and login to the Mobile Application Manager. 3. Go to the Handset Admin page. 4. Search for your phone on the Handset Admin page and make sure it is enabled. 5. Go to the Application Library page. You will upload the.jad and.jar files you downloaded to your PC from one-x Mobile server>/getapp to this page. 6. Click Upload Applications. 7. Browse to the.jad and.jar files you downloaded to your PC. 8. Follow the onscreen instructions to upload the Avaya one-x Mobile application to the Application Library. When uploaded successfully, Avaya one-x Mobile appears in the Application Library list of available applications. 9. On the Application Library page, click Assign to Phones. 10. Select the phones covered by this Nextel account that should receive the Avaya one-x Mobile application. If you wish, you can send text messages to users of the selected phones telling them that the Avaya one-x Mobile application is available for download. 11. Log off from your MyNextel account. Download Avaya one-x Mobile to your mobile phone The phones you selected are now ready to download the Avaya one-x Mobile application. Follow the instructions for application downloads that are applicable to your particular phone model. In many cases, downloading an application to a mobile phone requires the following steps: 1. Go to the directory on the phone where Java applications are stored. On some phones this is specifically called Java, while on other phones it may be the Games directory. 2. From the phone s menu select the equivalent of Download Apps. Avaya one-x Mobile User Guide for J2ME January

14 Installing the Application on Your Mobile Device 3. Navigate and select New Purchases. Avaya one-x Mobile should appear in the list of options. 4. Select Avaya one-x Mobile. 5. Download and install the application. 6. See Log in for first-time use on page 16. Download the Avaya one-x Mobile client to Sprint phones Sprint requires mobile phones to be manually enabled before they are allowed by the Sprint network to download unapproved and unqualified third-party Java applications. Avaya is in the process of obtaining the necessary approval and qualifications from Sprint for the Avaya one-x Mobile application. In the meantime you will need to enable your phone before you can download and run the Avaya one-x Mobile application. There are three main steps required to download the application to a Sprint phone: Create a Sprint developer account. You do not need to be a software developer to create a developer account. Any Sprint customer with download problems can create a developer account as a work-around. Add and activate the phone in the developer account. Download the application Over the Air (OTA) to the phone. See your administrative or IT support staff if you need assistance enabling your phone. Create a Sprint developer account You do not need to be a software developer to create a developer account. Any Sprint customer with download problems can create a developer account as a work-around. 1. Go to developer.sprint.com/searchhandsets.do 2. Click on the Not yet registered? link. (It is located under the Member Sign On section on the left side of the page.) 3. Enter the required information on the User Registration page. 4. Follow the instructions and complete the account setup process. Note your account name and password. You ll need it to login. 14 Avaya one-x Mobile User Guide for J2ME January 2010

15 Download the Avaya one-x Mobile client to Sprint phones Add and activate a phone in the developer account You will need the following information to add a phone to your developer account: Your phone s Electronic Serial Number (ESN). Your phone s Mobile Equipment Identity (MEID) number The ESN and MEID are both normally found in your phone s battery compartment. You will need to remove your phone s battery to find this information. The ESN is a unique hexadecimal number eight characters in length and composed from the numbers 0 through 9and letters A through F. An example of an ESN number is 3F8D36AA. The MEID is a unique hexadecimal number 14 characters in length. An example of an MEID is AA63D8F33F8D36. These numbers may not be labeled as ESN or MEID on your phone. When you enter the information on the Sprint web site you may have to guess which is which. If you get it wrong the first time the web page will simply inform you that it cannot enable your phone. You ll then have an opportunity to try the other number. Be sure to copy the correct capitalization when writing down these numbers entering these numbers on the Sprint web site is case-sensitive. Once you have these numbers you can activate your phone. To add and activate a phone in your developer account, do the following: 1. Go to developer.sprint.com/searchhandsets.do and login to your new developer account. You should end up on the Device Activation Page. 2. Click on Add Device. 3. Enter the ESN or MEID information as requested. The ESN and MEID fields are case-sensitive. Use the same capitalization when entering these numbers as shown on your phone. When your phone is first added to your account, it is listed as Disabled. 4. Select your phone and select Active from the Actions tab. This will begin the activation process. The Status column will show a Y next to your phone once your phone has been successfully enabled. 5. Log out of the Sprint developer site. Avaya one-x Mobile User Guide for J2ME January

16 Installing the Application on Your Mobile Device Download Avaya one-x Mobile Over the Air (OTA) to your mobile phone The phone you activated can now download the Avaya one-x Mobile application Over the Air (OTA). See Download the Avaya one-x Mobile client to phones on GSM networks on page 10. Once your Sprint phone is activated, the procedure to download the application Over the Air for Sprint phones is the same as for phones on GSM networks. Log in for first-time use The first time you use the Avaya one-x Mobile application on your mobile device, you must log in with your corporate computer username and password. See your system administrator for the URL for the Avaya one-x Mobile server and the protocol (http or https) you should use when logging in for this first time. Before you can log in to the Avaya one-x Mobile application on your mobile device, you must set up your account on Avaya one-x Mobile Web. See Set up your account on page 8. To log in for the first time: 1. Locate the Avaya one-x Mobile application on your mobile device. Go to the directory on the mobile device where Java applications are stored. On some mobile devices this is specifically called Java, while on other devices it may be the Applications or Games directory. 2. Open the Avaya one-x Mobile application. The Login screen appears. 3. Enter the URL or IP address of the Avaya one-x Mobile server. 4. Scroll to Secure Connection and then select it. Use the selection button on your mobile phone. A Select soft key is not provided on the screen. A check mark appears for Secure Connection. If the Secure Connection option does not appear, then your mobile device does not support the https protocol. 5. Select one of the following: 16 Avaya one-x Mobile User Guide for J2ME January 2010

17 Log in for first-time use To turn on secure connection, select the checkbox. To turn off secure connection, deselect the checkbox. 6. Select the OK soft key. 7. Enter your corporate computer username. This entry is case sensitive. 8. Select the OK soft key. 9. Enter your corporate computer password. This entry is case sensitive. 10. Select the OK soft key. 19 Getting Started Avaya one-x Mobile equips your mobile phone with access to your company s phone system. Regardless of your work location, you can receive and make calls to and from your office phone number, review voic messages by categories, look up information in your company s corporate directory, and even block calls from everyone but the people you want to hear from most. Avaya one-x Mobile includes Avaya one-x Mobile Web, a site hosted by your company s network that provides additional features to help you manage your work calls, availability, and voic messages. This user guide describes how to use Avaya one-x Mobile. For more information about Avaya one-x Mobile Web, see About Avaya one-x Mobile Web on page 21 and the Avaya one-x Mobile Web User Guide. Key Features Avaya one-x Mobile provides the following key features: Support for Avaya Aura Communication Manager Support for Avaya Modular Messaging 5.0 and later. Support for iphone Native, Windows Mobile, J2ME, Palm, and Blackberry mobile clients. Support for Microsoft Office Communicator (MOC) Visual Voic Visual Voic provides many of the best features of to the review and management of your office voic . Both the new and saved voic inboxes show the current state of the messages left in your office voic account. You can review by categories, listen to, save, or delete voic messages in the Avaya one-x Mobile application. The voic in the Avaya one-x Mobile application is a reflection of the voic on your office phone. Any change made to the office voic is reflected in both the Avaya one-x Mobile application and in your office voic . See Listening to Voic on page 43 for more information. If voic has not been configured for your mobile device, the new and saved voic inboxes do not appear. See No Voic Configuration on page 21 for more information. 20 Getting Started Corporate Directory, Phonebook, and Block You can wirelessly search your Corporate Directory from your mobile device and add corporate contact information to your Phonebook. In your Phonebook, you can designate key contacts co-workers, clients, friends, or family members as VIPs. When Block on the Avaya one-x Mobile Home screen is set to block non-vip callers, VIPs ring through while all other callers are sent directly to your office voic . See Using the Corporate Directory on page 61 and Using the Phonebook on page 55 for more information. Send Calls The Send Calls feature routes all calls coming into your work number out to one or more phones of your choice. With this feature, you need only one work phone number rather than a home number, office number, and hotel number while on business trips to receive all your personal and business calls. When you re particularly busy, you can choose to send all work calls directly to your office voic system. Voic messages are left on your office voic system, not on the voic system of your mobile device. On select mobile phone models, the Send Calls feature can also route calls to different phones automatically according to a schedule you define in Avaya one-x Mobile Web or according to GPS locations created on your mobile phone. See Managing Incoming Calls Using the Send Calls Feature on page 37 for more information. Call Log The Call Log shows detailed information about calls to and from your work phone number. From the Call Log, you can also add contact information directly to your Phonebook for use with the VIP and Block features, or directly initiate an Avaya one-x Mobile call to any caller or number you called. See Using the Call Log on page 49 for more information. Call The Avaya one-x Mobile Call feature allows you to place a call from any phone through your office phone system. This feature works by instructing your office phone system to first call the phone that you want to use, such as your mobile, home, or hotel room phone. Once you answer, the office phone system then calls the number you want to reach. Once the destination answers, the office phone system connects you to the destination. The Avaya one-x Mobile Call feature provides the following advantages: - Reliable two party call back. - Your caller ID is always your work phone number, regardless of the phone you are calling from such as your mobile, home, hotel room, or client s conference room phones. - All calls placed using the Avaya one-x Mobile Call feature appear in your corporate and Avaya one-x Mobile Call Logs. - You can use any phone and still benefit from special rate plans for calls made from your office phone system. To route a call through your office phone system, you must make the call from the Avaya one-x Mobile application, not from your device s native dialer or native operating system call screen. 21 No Voic Configuration No Voic Configuration Avaya one-x Mobile supports a mobile client configuration that does not require integration with a voic system. In the No Voic configuration, the Avaya one-x Mobile application provides all key features described above, except voic . Mobile clients configured without voic do not have a New Voic inbox, Saved Voic inbox, or voic associated with call history records in the Call Log. Users whose mobile device is configured without voic are able to call their corporate voic system directly to listen to their corporate voic messages. About Avaya one-x Mobile Web Avaya one-x Mobile Web extends the features of Avaya one-x Mobile by taking advantage of the larger computer screens and faster network connections available with laptop computers and desktop computers. Changes you make to settings, voic messages, calls, and contact information on Avaya one-x Mobile Web will appear on Avaya one-x Mobile, and vice versa. You have already used Avaya one-x Mobile Web to sign up for the Avaya one-x Mobile service. Avaya one-x Mobile Web also provides additional features not available in Avaya one-x Mobile. They are the ability to: Reply to and forward voic messages via Add and edit Send Calls destinations Create and edit settings in Automatic by Schedule a feature that manages your incoming calls according to a schedule you define For more information about Avaya one-x Mobile Web, see the Avaya one-x Mobile Web User Guide. About this Guide The procedures provided in this guide assume you are familiar with your mobile device user interface and operation. You should be able to scroll, highlight, enter text, and select items in a list and onscreen buttons. 22 Getting Started Start the Application To start the Avaya one-x Mobile application: 1. Turn on your mobile device. 2. Navigate to the applications folder and open the folder. 3. Navigate to the one-x Mobile icon and launch the application. The Avaya one-x Mobile Home screen appears. To reserve the battery, close the Avaya one-x Mobile application if you are not going to be making calls for a long period of time. With the application closed, you will still receive your incoming calls. Avaya one-x Mobile Home screen The Home screen shows: Status icons indicate communication status between your mobile device and the Avaya one-x Mobile server. The Status icons appear at the top of the Home screen, the New and Saved Voic inbox screens, and the Call Log screen. The color of the Status icon indicates the following: - Green indicates the last action you performed or the last background polling event was successful and your mobile device is operating normally and the data is fresh. - Yellow indicates some communication errors in the recent past and the data should be considered old. - Red indicates there have been too many communication errors and the data should be considered inaccurate. A time value indicating how long it has been since your mobile device successfully communicated with the server also appears. New Voic shows the number of new voic messages. If you have more messages than can be downloaded to your mobile phone, the New Voic status shows a ratio. The first number is the number of your most recent messages currently stored on your mobile phone. The second number is the total number of new voic messages in your voic account. More messages are downloaded as you delete the messages on your mobile phone. If voic has not been configured for your mobile device, New Voic does not appear. 23 Start the Application Block shows the current setting of the Block feature. When set to Off, no calls are blocked. All calls, including non-vips, ring through. When set to Non-VIPs, only calls from people you have designated as VIPs in your Phonebook ring through. All other callers are sent to your office voic . Send Calls to lists the phones currently designated to ring when a call comes in to your office phone. If you chose to send all calls to voic , Voic appears and all calls, including those from VIPs, are sent directly to voic . Your phone will not ring. Call soft key opens an Avaya one-x Mobile Call Back screen from which you can make a call. Menu soft key provides access to all of the Avaya one-x Mobile features: - Phonebook - Corporate Directory - New Contact - Call Log - Saved Voic - Setup - Refresh all - Exit App - New Voic - Block - Send Calls If voic has not been configured for your mobile device, the Saved Voic and New Voic options do not appear. 25 Making Calls Using the Call Feature When you make a call from your mobile device using the Avaya one-x Mobile application, instead of placing the call through the mobile carrier, you use the Avaya one-x Mobile Call feature. The Call feature uses your office phone system (or PBX) as a bridge between the phone you want to use and the number you want to call. Although the phone you most frequently use will probably be your mobile phone, you can use any of the phones defined in your list of Send Calls destinations. See Managing Incoming Calls Using the Send Calls Feature on page 37 for more information about the Send Calls feature. In addition, the Call feature also provides Quick Entry which is a feature that allows you to place a call from a phone that you want to use immediately, but are unlikely to use frequently in the future for example, a direct dial hotel room phone or a phone in a client s meeting room. You can make a call using the Call feature from the following locations within the Avaya one-x Mobile application: Avaya one-x Mobile Home screen New Voic Saved Voic If voic has not been configured for your mobile device, the New Voic and Saved Voic inboxes are not available. See No Voic Configuration on page 21 for more information. Call Log Phonebook Corporate Directory search results You begin a call by selecting the Call command or by pressing the call button while inside the Avaya one-x Mobile application. On the Avaya one-x Mobile Home screen, the Call command allows you to make an ad hoc call back by entering the number you wish to call. From other locations when the Call command is selected, the number to be called is associated with the Voic , Call Log, or contact entry that was highlighted when you selected Call. Once you have initiated the call, you are prompted to select the phone you want to use for this call. Although this will usually be your mobile phone, it can be any phone. The selected phone rings. You answer the phone and press the 5 key, and then the call is connected. 26 Making Calls Using the Call Feature Overview of the Avaya one-x Mobile Call Feature Step 1: Enter or select the number you want to call, and then select Call. This tells your corporate telephone system (or PBX) to initiate the call. (You can select Call from multiple locations within the Avaya one-x Mobile application. See the locations listed on the previous page.) After you select Call, you then select the phone you want to use. This will usually, but not always, be your mobile device. Step 2: Your corporate telephone system calls the phone you selected to use. You answer the call and press the 5 key. The phone you answer the call on will usually be your mobile device, but it could be any phone defined in your list of Send Calls destinations, such as your home phone or a hotel room phone. The following illustration shows your mobile device. Step 3: While you wait, your corporate telephone system calls the person you want to talk to. Step 4: You can begin talking after the other phone is answered by a person or voic system. Make a call from the Avaya one-x Mobile Home screen When you make a call from the Avaya one-x Mobile Home screen, you enter the number you want to call. This is in contrast to making a call from your Call Log, Phonebook, Corporate Directory, or Voic where the number you are calling is selected from a particular screen. Making a call from the Avaya one-x Mobile Home screen allows you to use the Avaya one-x Mobile Call feature with a number that is not in your Call Log, Phonebook, Corporate Directory, or Voic . When you make a call from the Avaya one-x Mobile Home screen, you use the Avaya one-x Mobile Call feature and thereby route the call through your office phone system. To make a call from the Avaya one-x Mobile Home screen: 1. On the Avaya one-x Mobile Home screen, select the Call soft key. 2. Enter the number you want to call. To make an international call, do one of the following: Enter the International Direct Dialing (IDD) prefix of your office phone system followed by the number you are calling. 27 Make a call from your Voic inbox 3. Press the OK soft key. 4. Scroll to the phone you want to use to make the call. This is one of the phones defined in your Send Calls destinations. 5. Select the Select soft key. The call is initiated and the instructions screen appears. 6. Do one of the following: If the phone you chose to use is not your mobile phone, select the OK soft key. If the phone you chose to use is your mobile phone, an OK soft key does not appear on the instruction screen. Wait for the phone to ring and then go to Step 7. The instructions screen closes, and the phone you chose to use rings. This is your office phone system calling to establish the first leg of the call connection between your selected phone and the number you want to call. 7. Answer your phone and then press the 5 key, as instructed by the phone dialog pop-up. This accepts the first leg of the call and signals your office phone system to connect you to the number you want to call. If the Confirmed Answer feature is turned off in your office phone system, you do not have to select the 5 key. Rather, you answer the call, wait a moment, and your office phone system will connect the call. See your system administrator for more information about the Confirmed Answer feature. 8. Wait a moment. Your office phone system will connect you to the number you called. Make a call from your Voic inbox To make a call from your new or saved voic inbox to someone who left you a message: 1. On the Avaya one-x Mobile Home screen, select the Menu soft key. 2. Select New Voic or Saved Voic . 3. Select the Select soft key. The New or Saved Voic inbox appears. Each voic entry shows the time or date of the call, the duration of the message, and the caller s name or number. 4. Scroll to the appropriate voic message. 5. Select the Play soft key. Select the OK soft key. 8. Scroll to the phone you want to use to make the call. This is one of the phones defined in your Send Calls destinations. 9. Select the Select soft key. The call is initiated and the instructions screen appears. 10. Do one of the following: If the phone you chose to use is not your mobile phone, select the OK soft key. If the phone you chose to use is your mobile phone, an OK soft key does not appear on the instruction screen. Wait for the phone to ring and then go to Step 11. The instructions screen closes, and the phone you chose to use rings. This is your office phone system calling to establish the first leg of the call connection between your selected phone and the number you want to call. 11. Answer your phone and then press the 5 key, as instructed by the phone dialog pop-up. Using the Avaya one-x Speech The Avaya one-x Speech capability allows you to dial a predefined number to the Avaya one-x Speech server. To access the Avaya one-x Speech feature: 1. 29 Make a call from the Call Log 2. In the one-x Speech Access Number field, enter the predefined access number for your one-x Speech server, if you have Avaya one-x Speech. The system adds an additional Speech Access menu item under Menu. When you select Speech Access from Menu, the one-x Mobile client opens the Callback screen with the speech access phone number that you had already entered in the Connect field. To complete the callback to speech access, select the desired phone for the callback and click Connect. Make a call from the Call Log To make a call to a person or number in the Call Log: 1. From the Avaya one-x Mobile Home screen, select the Menu soft key. 2. Scroll to Call Log. 3. Select the Select soft key. The Call Log details screen appears. 4. Select the number or person you want to call. 5. Select the Details soft key. The Call Log details screen appears. 6. Select the Call soft key. The summary screen appears. 7. Select the OK soft key. 8. Scroll to the phone you want to use to make the call. This is one of the phones defined in your Send Calls destinations. 9. Select the Select soft key. The call is initiated and the instructions screen appears. 10. Do one of the following: If the phone you chose to use is not your mobile phone, select the OK soft key. If the phone you chose to use is your mobile phone, an OK soft key does not appear on the instruction screen. Wait for the phone to ring and then go to Step 11. The instructions screen closes, and the phone you chose to use rings. On the Avaya one-x Mobile Home screen, select the Menu soft key. 2. Scroll to Phonebook. 3. Select the Select soft key. 4. Scroll to the contact you want to call. 5. Select the Options soft key. 6. Scroll to Call Contact. 7. Select the Call soft key. The summary screen appears. If this contact has multiple numbers, scroll to the number you want to call. 8. Select the Call soft key. 9. Scroll to the phone you want to use to make the call. This is one of the phones defined in your Send Calls destinations. 10. Select the Select soft key. The call is initiated and the instructions screen appears. 11. Do one of the following: If the phone you chose to use is not your mobile phone, select the OK soft key. If the phone you chose to use is your mobile phone, an OK soft key does not appear on the instruction screen. Wait for the phone to ring and then go to Step 12.
