Accelerate Smart Cities and the market Develop a joint reference architecture framework to enable interoperability, scalability and open interfaces Integrate communities (demand side) in the process Accelerate the adoption of the developed framework by standardisation bodies MoU DIN Spec

5 THIRD PARTIES DATA AND INFORMATIONS TelCo Operator DOMAIN THIRD PARTIES Smart City ICT reference platform The smart city definition adopted by Telecom Italia is based on the EC (European Commission) SETPLAN2020 definition and in particular it refers to four macro categories of services: Smart Mobility, Smart Energy, Quality of Life and the Connected City and the ICT platform. In the figure it is represented the Telecom Italia Smart City ICT reference platform. In particular the Telecom Italia focus is on layer 2, smart urban communication infrastructures based on capillary networks and on layer 3, Cloud, M2M Platform and Service Delivery Platforms. In house developments of these two layers have been done and evolutions are on going. 12 Open smart city platforms: a system of systems How we provided interoperability with OneM2M AE (Smartcity Application) Mca Mca CSE AE (Sensors) Data from DT sensors Mcc AE (Smartcity Application) Mca CSE AE (Sensors) Mca Data from TIM sensors Interoperability between onem2m platforms (CSE): AE of TIM can access to data of CSE of DT via Mcc reference point (and vice versa) using the RCSE We have defined data structure of sensors that are accessible via Mcc reference point Only a subset of specific data stored on CSE are accessible from Mcc reference point On Mcc the protocol used is compliant with onem2m standard on HTTP(S) Interoperability required 13

Initial interoperability tests based on onem2m successfully completed Basic data exchange between similar services / devices enabled Next steps Extend the data exchange to more complex services and overarching solutions, e.g. Towards smart city and touristic services 15
