12 Get Started The fllwing tpics give yu all the infrmatin yu need t set up yur phne and Sprint service fr the first time. Yur Phne at a Glance The fllwing illustratin utlines yur phne s primary features. Set Up Yur Phne Befre using yur new phne, yu must install and charge the battery. Nte: Yur phne s battery shuld have enugh charge t turn the phne n and find a signal, cmplete the setup wizard, set up vic , and make a call. Yu shuld fully charge the battery as sn as pssible. Yu must first install and charge the battery t begin setting up yur phne. Install the battery. Get Started 1

13 Using the slt n the upper left side f the battery cver, gently lift the cver ff the phne. Insert the battery, aligning the gld cntacts n the battery with the gld cntacts n the phne, and gently press the battery int place. Replace the battery cmpartment cver, making sure all the tabs are secure and there are n gaps arund the cver. Charge the Battery 1. Plug the USB cable int the Charger/Accessry Prt n the bttm f the phne. 2. Plug the ther end f the USB cable int the Charging Head, and then plug the Charging Head int an electrical utlet t charge yur battery. Fully charging a battery may take up t three hurs. 14 Nte: Yur phne supprts USB 3.0 and USB 2.0, and includes a USB 3.0 cable fr higher data transfer speeds when cnnected t anther USB 3.0 device. Yu can als use USB 2.0 cables (nt included) t charge and cnnect yur phne. Activate Yur Phne Fllw the instructins belw t activate yur phne if it has nt already been activated. Depending n yur accunt r hw and where yu purchased yur phne, it may be ready t use r yu may need t activate it n yur Sprint accunt. If yu purchased yur phne at a Sprint Stre, it is prbably activated and ready t use. If yu received yur phne in the mail and it is fr a new Sprint accunt r a new line f service, it is designed t activate autmatically. When yu turn the phne n fr the first time, yu shuld see a Hands Free Activatin screen, which may be fllwed by a PRL Update screen and a Firmware Update screen. Fllw the nscreen instructins t cntinue. If yu received yur phne in the mail and yu are activating a new phne fr an existing number n yur accunt (yu are swapping phnes), yu can activate n yur cmputer nline r directly n yur phne. Activate n yur cmputer: G t sprint.cm/activate and cmplete the nline instructins t activate yur phne. Activate n yur phne: Turn n yur new phne. (Make sure the ld ne is turned ff.) Yur phne will autmatically attempt Hands-Free Activatin. Tap Activate t verride aut-activatin and start the manual activatin wizard. Fllw the nscreen prmpts t cmplete the activatin prcess. T cnfirm activatin, make a phne call. If yur phne is still nt activated, visit sprint.cm/supprt fr assistance. If yu d nt have access t the Internet, call Sprint Custmer Service at frm anther phne. Tip: D nt press the Pwer key while the phne is being activated. Pressing the Pwer key cancels the activatin prcess. Nte: If yu are having any difficulty with activatin, visit sprint.cm/supprt. Cmplete the Setup After yu turn n yur phne and activate it, yur phne displays a Welcme screen. Frm the Welcme screen fllw the prmpts t set up features and preferences n yur phne. Get Started 3

15 Nte: In sme cases, yu may be able t cmplete the setup prcess befre yur phne has been activated n yur Sprint accunt. 1. At the Welcme screen, chse ptins, and then tap START t begin setup: Language: Chse the default language fr yur phne s peratin. Accessibility: Cnfigure settings t access settings t imprve the accessibility f yur phne s features if yu are visually impaired r hard f hearing. 2. Fllw the nscreen instructins t cmplete setup fr each tpic. Tap NEXT, r the right arrw, t mve thrugh the steps. Yu can skip ptins t cntinue t the next ne. During setup, yu may see these ptins: Wi-Fi: By default, yur phne prmpts yu t use Wi-Fi when accessing data services. Tap a Wi-Fi access pint t cnnect t it, r yu can cntinue setup using yur phne s cnnectin t the wireless netwrk. Tap & G: Quickly cpy any Ggle Accunts, backed up apps and data frm yur existing Andrid device. Fllw the nscreen instructins. Ggle Accunt (Add yur accunt): Yur phne uses yur Ggle Accunt t prvide access t many features and apps. Cmplete the steps t sign in t yur current Ggle Accunt, r tap Or create a new accunt t sign up fr a new Ggle Accunt right frm yur phne. Yu can als skip signing in t yur Ggle Accunt, r sign in later. Set up payment inf: Yu can set up payment accunts t purchase items frm Ggle Play. Ggle services: Select Ggle service preferences, including Lcatin and Cmmunicatin ptins. Samsung accunt: Sme apps and features use yur Samsung accunt. Yu can sign in t yur Samsung accunt, r fllw the prmpts t create a new accunt. Drpbx: Drpbx prvides Web-based clud strage, s yu can save yur pictures and vides t the Web, and any cmputers yu link t. Yu can create a new accunt here, r sign in t yur existing Drpbx accunt. Device name: Yur device name is hw yu and ther devices identify yur phne, such as when sharing via Bluetth r Wi-Fi Direct. If yu want t use a different name, tap the field and enter a name. Easy mde: Easy mde ffers a simpler Hme screen layut, with larger text and icns. Tap the check bx t turn n Easy mde. Yu can als chse Easy mde frm Settings at any time. 3. Tap FINISH t cmplete setup. Yu may see a series f infrmatinal r update screens. Fllw the prmpts t cntinue. Get Started 4

16 Nte: During r after setup, yu may see a Cnnectins Optimizer ntice. Read the ntice and then tap I Agree t allw yur phne t cnnect autmatically t the best available data netwrk, including Wi-Fi. T turn Cnnectins Optimizer ff at any time, frm hme tap Apps > Settings > CONNECTIONS tab > Mre netwrks > Mbile netwrks > Cnnectins ptimizer and uncheck the Cnnectins Optimizer bx. See Mbile Netwrks Settings fr details. Set Up Vic Yur phne autmatically transfers all unanswered calls t vic , even if yur phne is in use r turned ff. Yu shuld set up yur vic and persnal greeting as sn as yur phne is activated. Always use a passwrd t prtect against unauthrized access. Nte: Vic Passwrd It is strngly recmmended that yu create a passwrd when setting up yur vic t prtect against unauthrized access. Withut a passwrd, anyne wh has access t yur phne is able t access yur vic messages. 1. Frm hme, tap Phne. If yur screen is lcked, press the Pwer/Lck key t turn n the display and then swipe yur screen in any directin. See Turn Yur Screen On and Off. 2. Tuch and hld t dial yur vic number. 3. Fllw the system prmpts t: Create yur passwrd. Recrd yur name annuncement. Recrd yur greeting. Tip: Yu can als access and set up vic with the Visual Vic app. Frm hme, tap Apps > Vic , and then tap Persnalize nw. Sprint Accunt Infrmatin and Help Find ut abut accunt passwrds and infrmatin abut managing yur accunt and finding help. Sprint Accunt Passwrds As a Sprint custmer, yu enjy unlimited access t yur persnal accunt infrmatin, yur vic accunt, and yur data services accunt. Yu can get up t three pieces f infrmatin per call, and the peratr can autmatically cnnect yur call at n additinal charge. 19 Phne Basics Yur phne is packed with features that simplify yur life and expand yur ability t stay cnnected t the peple and infrmatin that are imprtant t yu. The fllwing tpics will intrduce the basic functins and features f yur phne. Yur Phne s Layut This illustratin utlines yur phne s basic layut. Features The fllwing list defines the features listed in the abve illustratins. LED Indicatr: Glws r blinks in different clrs t shw status when the screen is turned ff. The LED glws red when charging, and blinks red when the battery is lw; blinks blue when there is a new ntificatin, r when yu are recrding vice with the screen turned ff; and glws green when the battery is fully charged and the phne is attached t a charger. Earpiece: Lets yu hear the caller and autmated prmpts during calls. Prximity Sensr: Detects the presence f bjects near the phne, such as when using air gesture r mtin settings. Fr example, while talking n the phne the sensr detects when it is near yur ear and turns ff the screen t prevent accidental key presses. Light Sensr: Detects the ambient light level, such as when setting screen brightness when Autmatic brightness is enabled, and when using the Camera. Phne Basics 8

20 Frnt Camera: Allws yu t take pictures and vides f yurself. Pwer/Lck Key: Lets yu turn the phne n r ff, turn the screen n r ff, r lck the screen. Press and hld fr a Device ptins menu, where yu can turn the phne ff r restart it, r fr easy access t Airplane mde, Emergency Mde, and t Mute, Vibrate, and Sund mdes. Back Key: Lets yu return t the previus screen, r clse a dialg bx, ptins menu, the Ntificatin Panel, r nscreen keybard. Hme Key: Returns yu t the Hme screen. Menu Key: Access a menu f ptins frm mst f yur phne s screens. Vlume Key: Adjusts the vlume f yur phne s sunds. Frm hme, press t adjust master vlume. During calls r playback, press t adjust vlume. Press t mute the ringtne f an incming call. Infrared Transmitter: Allws yu t cntrl ther devices, such as a TV. Micrphnes: Allw ther callers t hear yu when yu are using the speakerphne, and captures sund during recrding. 3.5 mm Headset Jack: Allws yu t plug in either a stere headset r an ptinal headset fr cnvenient, hands-free cnversatins. Camera: Lets yu take pictures and recrd vides. Flash: Helps illuminate subjects in lw-light envirnments when the camera is fcusing and capturing a pht r vide. USB Charger/Accessry Prt: Allws yu t cnnect the phne charger/usb cable (included) and ther ptinal accessries (nt included). Speaker: Plays ringtnes and sunds. The speaker als lets yu hear the caller s vice in speakerphne mde. S Pen: Input infrmatin and interact with yur phne. Nte: Yur phne supprts USB 3.0 and USB 2.0, and includes a USB 3.0 cable fr higher data transfer speeds when cnnected t anther USB 3.0 device. Yu can als use USB 2.0 cables (nt included) t charge and cnnect yur phne. Cautin: Inserting an accessry int the incrrect jack r prt may damage the phne. Turn Yur Phne On and Off Use the Pwer/Lck key t turn the phne n r ff. Turn the Phne On Press and hld the Pwer/Lck key. Phne Basics 9

21 Turn the Phne Off 1. Press and hld the Pwer/Lck key t display the Device ptins menu. 2. Tap Pwer ff > POWER OFF t turn the phne ff. The screen remains blank while yur phne is ff. If the phne is ff during charging, the screen displays a charging animatin. Turn Yur Screen On and Off Yur phne allws yu t quickly turn the screen ff when nt in use and t turn it back n and unlck it when yu need it. Turn the Screen Off When Nt in Use T quickly turn the screen ff, press the Pwer/Lck key. Pressing the Pwer/Lck key again will turn n the screen and display the lck screen. T save battery pwer, the phne autmatically turns ff the screen (times ut) after a certain perid f time when yu leave it idle. Yu will still be able t receive messages and calls while the phne s screen is ff. Nte: Fr infrmatin n hw t adjust the time befre the screen turns ff, see Screen timeut under Display Settings. Turn the Screen On and Unlck It 1. T turn the screen n, press the Pwer/Lck key. 2. Unlck the screen: If yu are using the default screen lck, swipe the screen in any directin t unlck it. If yu have set up a screen lck, use yur screen lck. See Screen Lck. S Pen Overview Use S Pen and yur device t create and cllabrate. With S Pen, yu can: Write directly int a Gmail message. Write directly n the calendar. Anntate dcuments (Wrd, Excel, PPT, PDF). Write a nte n the back f a picture. Quickly pen S Nte frm any screen. Phne Basics 10

Call Using the Keypad The mst traditinal way t place a call is by using the phne s keypad screen. 1. Frm hme, tap Phne > Keypad. 2. Tap the number keys t enter the phne number. As yu enter digits, matching numbers frm recent calls r cntacts display. If yu see the number yu want, tap it t call it withut having t enter the rest f the number. 3. Tap t call the number. Nte: If yu have Wi-Fi Calling set up and yu are cnnected t a Wi-Fi netwrk, the call and end call icns appear differently ( and ). Call frm Lgs All incming and utging calls are recrded in Lgs. Make an Emergency Call Yu can place calls t even if the phne s screen is lcked r yur accunt is restricted. 46 Enhanced (E 9-1-1) Infrmatin This phne features GPS (Glbal Psitining System), which is used fr E emergency lcatin service, where available. When yu place a call t 9-1-1, the GPS feature f yur phne prvides infrmatin abut yur apprximate lcatin. Depending n several variables, including availability and access t satellite signals, it may take up t 30 secnds r mre t determine and reprt yur apprximate lcatin. Imprtant: Always reprt yur lcatin t the peratr when placing an emergency call. Sme designated emergency call takers, knwn as Public Safety Answering Pints (PSAPs), may nt be equipped t receive GPS lcatin infrmatin frm yur phne. Receive Phne Calls When yu receive a call, yu can accept the call, r reject the call t send it t vic . Yu can als reject a call with a message, t send a text message t the caller. Nte: If yur phne is turned ff, all calls autmatically g t vic . Answer an Incming Call When yu receive a phne call frm a number stred in Cntacts, the cntact s infrmatin displays n the screen. When yu receive a phne call frm a number that is nt stred in Cntacts, the phne number displays n the screen. When yur phne ntifies yu f an incming call, drag t the right t answer the call. Mute the Ringing Sund Yu can mute the ringtne withut rejecting the call by ding ne f the fllwing. Press the Vlume key dwn. Place the phne screen-dwn n a level surface. See Palm Mtin Settings fr ptins, including the Mute/pause palm mtin t mute incming calls by turning ver the phne. Cver the screen with yur hand. Reject an Incming Call When yu reject a call, the caller is sent t vic where they can leave a vice message. When yur phne ntifies yu f an incming call, drag t the left t reject the call. Phne Call Optins The Phne app prvides many useful features and ptins t help yu make the mst f yur calling experience. Dialing Optins Several ptins are available when dialing a phne number. 1. Frm hme, tap Phne. 2. While dialing a call, tap Menu fr ptins, including: Add 2-sec pause (,): Insert a 2-secnd pause int the number yu are dialing. This can be useful when string numbers fr autmated phne menus. Add wait (;): Insert a pause int the number yu are dialing, t wait fr input frm yu. This can be useful when string numbers fr autmated phne menus. Add t Cntacts: Save the number t a new cntact, r update an existing cntact. See Add a Cntact. Help: Learn abut using the Phne app. Caller ID Caller ID identifies a caller while the phne is ringing, by displaying the number f the incming call. Phne Calls 36

48 Blck Caller ID Yu can blck yur Caller ID (visible t ther when yu make a call), befre making a call. The blcking nly lasts fr that call, and then returns t regular Caller ID. 1. Frm hme, tap Phne. 2. Tap. 3. Enter a phne number, and then tap. Call Waiting When yu are n a call, yur phne ntifies yu by displaying the call infrmatin n the screen, and vibrating, if yu ve set up vibratin fr incming calls. Respnd t an Incming Call While Yu Are n a Call Slide t the right. This puts the first caller n hld and answers the incming call. T switch between calls, tap Swap. 3-Way Calling With 3-Way Calling, yu can talk t tw peple at the same time. When using this feature, the nrmal airtime rates will be charged fr each f the tw calls. 1. Frm hme, tap Phne. 2. Make the first call by entering the phne number and pressing. 3. When the first call is established, tap Add call t put the first call n hld, and then dial the secnd number. 4. When the secnd call is established, tap Merge. If ne f the peple yu called hangs up during yur call, yu and the remaining caller stay cnnected. If yu set up the call and are the first t end the call, all callers are discnnected. Call Frwarding Call Frwarding lets yu frward all yur incming calls t anther phne number even when yur phne is turned ff. Raming rates apply when yu access vic while raming ff the netwrk. Nte: Yur phne accepts messages even when it is turned ff. Hwever, yur phne ntifies yu f new messages nly when it is turned n and yu are in a netwrk service area. Visual Vic Visual Vic gives yu a quick and easy way t access yur vic . Nw yu can find exactly the message yu are lking fr withut having t listen t every vic message first. This new feature peridically ges ut t yur vic , and gathers the caller infrmatin frm all f the current vic s. It then ppulates a list with the caller name and number, alng with the length f time and pririty level f the vic message. 1. Frm hme, tap Apps > Vic . 2. When yu are dne listening t a vic message yu can easily access ther vic messages withut returning t the main vic screen. Yu can navigate thrugh vic messages as frequently as yu'd like. Yu can even mve t the next r previus message befre yu are finished listening t the current ne. 1. Listen t the current vic message. 2. Swipe yur finger left r right t display the next r previus message. (It will begin playing autmatically.) Use Visual Vic t Delete Yur Messages 1. Frm hme, tap Apps > Vic . 2. Open a message and tap Delete. Tip: Yu can restre messages yu have sent t the trash flder. tap Inbx > Trash, tuch and hld the message yu want t restre t the inbx, and then tap the Restre icn. Play all new: Play all new messages. Select multiple: Perfrm an actin n multiple messages. Cmpse Avatar message: Send an animated vice message t friends. Yu can als cmpse an Avatar message by tapping. Menu: Access Search, Settings, and Help features. 3. Tap a message t review it. The fllwing ptins are available while listening t vic messages: Call: Dial the number the message came frm. Share: Send the message via Wi-Fi Direct, scial accunts, and s n. Tap Menu > Settings > Preferences > Persnalize vic . 3. Tap OK t cnnect t the vic system. Fllw the prmpts t change yur current greeting. Edit the Display Name Frm yur Visual Vic menu, yu can quickly change the name r number attached t yur vice messages. This name r number identifies yu t recipients f yur vic messages. 1. Frm hme, tap Apps > Vic . 2. Tap Menu > Settings > Display > Display name. 3. Tap the existing identificatin field and enter a new identifying name r number (used t identify yu t recipients f yur vice messages). 4. Tap OK t save yur infrmatin. 57 Cntacts The Cntacts applicatin lets yu stre and manage cntacts frm a variety f surces, including cntacts yu enter and save directly in yur phne as well as cntacts synchrnized with yur Ggle Accunt, yur PC, cmpatible prgrams (including Exchange Server), and yur Facebk friends. Get Started with Cntacts When yu set up an accunt n yur phne, the cntacts yu have stred in the accunt are als available n yur phne. When yu add cntacts, yu can chse t save the cntacts t the phne, r t ne f the accunts yu have set up n the phne. Ggle cntacts are synchrnized between yur phne and a Ggle Accunt yu set up n yur phne. Micrsft Exchange ActiveSync cntacts are synchrnized between yur phne and an Exchange Server r Micrsft Outlk accunt set up n yur phne. Samsung accunt cntacts are synchrnized between yur phne and yur Samsung accunt, if yu have a Samsung accunt set up n yur phne. Device cntacts are stred lcally n the phne. Access Cntacts There are a cuple f ways t access Cntacts. Frm hme, tap Apps > Cntacts. r Frm hme, tap Phne > Cntacts tab. Find a Cntact Yu can search fr a cntact, r scrll the list t find ne by name. 1. Frm hme, tap Apps > Cntacts. 2. Tap the Search field, and then enter characters t find cntacts that match. r Tap a letter n the side f the list t g directly t that letter in the alphabetical list. Cntacts 46

58 Add a Cntact Yu can add cntacts directly frm the Cntacts applicatin. Enter details such as name, phne numbers, addresses, mailing addresses, and mre. 1. Frm hme, tap Apps > Cntacts. 2. Tap Add, and then tap cntact fields t enter infrmatin. Chse a strage accunt fr the cntact. Yu can chse Device t stre the cntact n the phne, r chse an accunt. Tap t assign a picture t the new cntact: Tap the Name field t use the nscreen keybard t enter the full name. Tap fr additinal name fields. Tap the Phne number field, and then enter the phne number. Tap t add anther phne number. Tap t chse a label fr the number. If yu add mre than ne phne number, yu will be prmpted t chse a default phne number. The default phne number is the ne yur phne will use in mst cases. Tap beside t enter an address. If yu add mre than ne address, yu will be prmpted t chse a default address. The default address is the ne yur phne will use in mst cases. Tap Grups t assign the cntact t a grup. Tap Ringtne t chse a ringtne t play fr calls frm the cntact. Tap ADD ANOTHER FIELD t add new fields fr the cntact. 3. Tap SAVE t save the new cntact. Save a Phne Number Yu can save a phne number t Cntacts directly frm the phne keypad. 1. Frm hme, tap Phne. 2. Enter a phne number using the nscreen keypad. 3. Tap Add t Cntacts, and then tap CREATE CONTACT r UPDATE EXISTING. 4. Cntinue adding infrmatin fr the cntact, as desired. 5. 59 Edit a Cntact Once yu ve added a cntact, yu can add r edit any f the infrmatin in the entry, assign a picture, custmize it with a unique ringtne, and mre. Add r Edit Infrmatin fr a Cntact Yu can mdify existing cntact infrmatin t keep yur infrmatin up-t-date. 1. Frm hme, tap Apps > Cntacts. 2. Tap a cntact t display it, and then tap Edit. 3. Tap any field yu want t change r add. See Add a Cntact. 4. Add r edit the infrmatin, and then tap SAVE. Assign a Picture t a Cntact Adding a picture t a cntact entry creates a mre persnal and easily recgnized entry. Fr example, when receiving a call frm ne f yur cntacts, the assciated picture will display. Yu can assign a picture frm Gallery, r take a new picture with Camera. 1. Frm hme, tap Apps > Cntacts. 2. Tap a cntact t display it, and then tap Edit. 3. Tap t assign a picture t the cntact: Image: Chse a picture frm Gallery. Take picture: Take a new picture. S Nte: Use an image frm S Nte. 60 Link Cntacts When yu have cntacts frm varius surces (Gmail, phne, Facebk, etc.), yu may have multiple similar entries fr a single cntact. Yur phne s Cntacts applicatin lets yu link multiple entries int a single cntact. 1. Frm hme, tap Apps > Cntacts. 2. Tap a cntact t display it, and then tap Menu > Link cntacts. 3. Tap anther entry t link it t the riginal cntact. 4. Tap DONE t cmplete the link(s). Nte: Yu can link up t nine cntacts in a single entry. Tip: T unlink cntacts, frm the Menu in step 2 abve, tap Unlink cntacts and then tap Unlink next t the element yu want t unlink. Delete Cntacts Yu can delete a single cntact, r chse multiple cntacts t delete. Delete a Cntact 1. Frm hme, tap Apps > Cntacts. 2. Tap a cntact t display it, and then tap Menu > Delete > DELETE. Delete Multiple Cntacts 1. Frm hme, tap Apps > Cntacts. 2. Tap Menu > Delete, and then tap cntacts t select them, r tap the check bx next t 0 selected t select all. 3. Tap DONE > DELETE. Save a Business Card as a Cntact Take a picture f a business card and yur phne recgnizes the infrmatin t save the business card in Cntacts, and create a new cntact frm the inf n the business card. 1. Frm hme, tap Apps > Cntacts. 2. Tap Menu > Business cards > Add. Cntacts 49

61 3. When the camera pens, center the business card in the guidelines n the screen. If the camera can recgnize the business card, it will take the picture autmatically, r yu can take the picture manually. 4. Yur phne analyzes the picture f the business card, and uses infrmatin it recgnizes t create a new cntact. Yu can als add mre infrmatin t the cntact. 5. Tap SAVE t save the new cntact. The business card is displayed as the picture fr the cntact. Tip: Yu can view all yur business cards by tapping Menu > Business cards. Mve Cntacts If yu have accunts set up n yur phne, yu can merge device cntacts with the accunt s cntacts. Device cntacts are stred nly in the phne s memry, and culd be lst if yu lse yur phne r reset it t the factry defaults. Merging with an accunt means the cntacts are synced with the accunt and stred there. 1. Frm hme, tap Apps > Cntacts. 2. Tap Menu > Mve device cntacts t. 3. Chse an accunt t merge with, and then fllw the prmpts t cmplete the merge. Speed Dials Speed dials are 1-t-3 digit shrtcuts yu can assign t cntacts, t make dialing faster. Speed dial 1 is reserved fr Vic . Assign Speed Dials 1. Frm hme, tap Apps > Cntacts. 2. Tap Menu > Speed dial. 3. Tap an unused speed dial, and then select a cntact t assign t the number. Remve Speed Dials 1. Frm hme, tap Apps > Cntacts. 2. Tap Menu > Speed dial, and then tap X beside the speed dials yu want t remve. Make a Call with a Speed Dial 1. Frm hme, tap Phne. 2. This methd can be faster, but depends n whether the target device can accept multiple name cards. If nt, nly ne cntact will be sent. Send individually: Name cards are sent individually. This methd may take lnger, because the ther device must accept each name card individually, but it helps ensure that n name cards are missed. Accunts: Add r manage accunts. Many accunts include cntacts, which are synced with yur phne when yu set up the accunt n yur phne. Cntacts 55

Ggle Accunt Many f yur phne s applicatins, such as Gmail, Ggle Maps, Ggle Hanguts, and the Ggle Play stre, require a free Ggle Accunt. T use these applicatins, yu must set up yur Ggle Accunt n yur phne. Setting up yur accunt n yur phne syncs yur phne and yur nline Ggle Accunt. Create a Ggle Accunt If yu d nt already have a Ggle Accunt, yu can create ne using yur phne. Althugh yu need a Gmail accunt t use certain features f yur phne, such as Ggle Play, yu d nt need t use Gmail as the default accunt fr yur phne. 1. While viewing pictures in the Gallery, scrll up the screen t view mre albums. Simply tap an album t view the phts r vides in that album. If yu have pictures r vides stred n an ptinal memry card (nt included), they will be display flders they are stred in, and flders are treated as albums. The actual flder names will be used as the album names. If yu have dwnladed any phts and vides, these will be placed in the All dwnlads album. 1. Frm hme, tap Apps > Gallery. 2. When yu pen a received file, what happens next depends n the file type: Media files and dcuments are usually pened directly in a cmpatible applicatin. Fr example, if yu pen a music track, it starts playing in the Music applicatin. Fr a vcalendar file, select the calendar where yu want t save the event, and then tap Imprt event. Enter infrmatin abut the event (nt all accunts supprt all fields): Tap the Title field and enter a title fr the event. Tap the Lcatin field t enter a lcatin fr the event in the Lcatin field r tap the icn t select the lcatin n the a map. Select a Start and End date and time fr the event by tapping the crrespnding fields, and adjusting the mnth, day, and year. Tap the All day field t set this as an all-day event. If set as an all-day event, the time fields are remved. 5. Select an alarm time by tapping the Reminder field. 6. Tap Save, r tap View mre ptins t enter mre infrmatin abut the event. Available ptins depend n the type f event, and the accunt it is assigned t: Enter participants in the Participants field. Tap Shw me as t chse hw the event shws n yur calendar t ther event rganizers. Tap the upcming event name frm the nscreen list t display the event within the Calendar ntificatins screen. 3. Tap an ptin. Set snze duratin t set the length f time t allw befre yu are reminded f the event. Chse frm: 3 minute, 5 minutes, 10 minutes,15 minutes, r 30 minutes. Snze t be reminded f the event at a future time.
