4 Charging the RadioSecure SLM RadioSecure SLM is delivered with battery charged to approximately 25%. Before deploying the SLM, make a full charge of the battery with an appropriate charger. (3hrs with 4Amp rapid charger) 1. To charge the RadioSecure SLM, slide the window to the left. 2. Remove the Reset Plug by lifting the plug upwards. 3. Align charger receptacle to connector by aligning the key to the key-way and gently push down to mate. Key way Key SLM Serial Port Charger 4. Switch on the charger and leave it to charge for the required period. When fully charged, the charger indicator will turn green. 5. Remove charger and re-invert the Reset Plug back into the connector. The LEDs of the RadioSecure SLM should turn off after 30 seconds.

5 SIM CARD Installation RadioSecure SLM is delivered with SIM Window Cover unattached. User is to follow the following procedure to insert SIM and subsequent closing the window to retain the IP Please ensure that the SIM Card of your choice is a Mini-SIM (2FF). (Advisable to obtain the standard Mini-SIM, without a Micro-SIM adapted into a Mini-SIM.) 2. Request for the APN Settings and the phone number of the SIM Card from your Telco. The SIM Card needs to be able to send and receive SMS and has Data to send information to Server. 3. Check that the Green Reset Plug is inserted and secured. 4. Use a pair of long nose plier or a pair of tweezers to grip the SIM card. 5. Hold the SLM at eye level and gently insert the SIM card into the SIM holder. 6. Both SIM card should be inserted with the SIM circuit facing the SLM Circuit Board.

6 Setting APN Set the APN Settings of your SIM Card by sending the following SMS command to the phone number of your SIM Card. 8 Commissioning and sealing of RadioSecure SLM To power on SLM RadioSecure SLM with fully charged battery is stored with reset plug inserted. The reset plug disconnects power supply to the CCA. The following procedure and visual observations should be observed in operating the RadioSecure SLM. Slide the window to the left, invert the green reset plug. Wait for GREEN LED to be steady. SLM is ready to be sealed. *Place SLM in open area with Labels facing the sky. *GPS modules normally takes longer to get a fix after travelling for more than 500km. *If you re indoors, take your SLM outside as tinted glass and heavily shield wall is a barrier to GPS connection Sealing of SLM 1. Slide the window back to the right. 2. Then Insert the bolt header cable into the larger hole on top of the SLM. 3. Insert Horizontal Bolt 4. Pass stainless steel wire rope through the other hole all the way through. Pull to seal tight.

9 Unseal and Decommissioning of RadioSecure SLM Unsealing of SLM 1. Pull the horizontal bolt to left. 2. Pull the stainless steel wire rope out from the smaller hole (left). 3. Unthread the stainless steel wire rope completely from the hasp. 4. Remove the bolt header cable. To Power down SLM 1. Slide the window to the left 2. Re-invert the reset plug *SLM needs GPS fix to power down. Please place SLM in open area for good GPS fix.

10 Using SMS to configure RadioSecure SLM 1. Use your mobile phone to send the command via SMS. 2. If command is not in the right format, the SLM will not accept and settings will not be configured. 3. Please send ONE command at a time. Wait at least 10 seconds in between each command. 4. Once SLM is configured to your desired settings, you may seal the SLM. Caution: Please make sure the SIM card in SLM has credit for SMS. This is because SLM will send you reply when configuration is successful. Z= [Country code - area code - phone no.] e.g.: This command is used when SLM cannot power down due to too much stored cached. It will however keep your existing SLM configuration Caution! This command will erase your existing journey. Please use with care.

11 Troubleshooting Q: After inserting the SIM card, SLM display only constant RED light. A: Check the settings of APN, username and password. Also, please make sure there is no PIN code is required by the SIM card. If the SIM card comes with PIN code, please insert it in your mobile phone and disable the PIN code function. SLM needs to establish connection before sealing can be done. Q: SLM cannot power down. LED indication stays at security tamper mode. A: SLM needs GPS fix to power down for security reason. GPS fix is affected by buildings, trees, and clouds. If you re indoors, tinted windows can prevent you from getting a GPS fix. Never obstruct the label of SLM with anything metal (metal roof counts too) Never place SLM lying with labels facing the ground Allow the label of SLM to face the sky to get first GPS fix especially when SLM has travelled across continents Q: It is hard to remove the wire rope after sealing of the SLM, especially after some force is applied. A: When pressure is applied to the locking mechanism after sealing of the SLM, the cable should first be pushed downwards to release the locking mechanism before pulling the wire rope out. Q: I ve inserted SIM card but both GREEN and RED LED still blink at the same time? A: If you ve inserted SIM card, you might have inserted it wrongly. Please make sure the SIM circuit is facing the SLM Circuit Board.
