2 Client Overview and Background Driven by the desire to bring positive change, pplconnect s objective is to transform the mobile industry by handing users the power over their mobile content. RapidValue along with pplconnect implemented a Virtual Smartphone for users to access real-time content at any time and from any internet-enabled device. With the pplconnect app users can sync their smartphone with the Virtual Smartphone and then login to the Virtual Smartphone from all the devices. Users can receive a text on their friend s phone, make a call, edit contacts, send text messages, and connect with friends on social media etc. Business Requirements The client wanted to implement a Virtual smartphone to allow users access to their real-time mobile content and functionality from any device. Some of the key objectives were: Develop an application that combines the features of VOIP, document hosting and an app for multiple mobile devices Allow consumers to make calls, add contacts, create and share documents/media contents, set calendar events, purchase new applications from the app store and many more compelling features Provide rich consumer experience with an user-friendly UI Enable secure user authentication through unique user login Cost-effective solution and quick time-to-market TM 02

3 Challenges and Our Approach Mobile consumers are constantly looking for solutions that provide flexibility, connectivity and access to their personal information stored on their device, while on the move. Mobile technology and its ecosystem have drastically evolved over the past few years. There has been continuous enhancement in voice communication; advancement in mobile networks (2G, 2.5G, 3G and now 4G); innovations in mobile applications across industry verticals such as media, entertainment, retail, automobile, financial services, education; revolution around text messaging, integration and interactions via social networking; improvements in mobile commerce and many more. The next wave in the mobile technology is expected to be the virtual smartphone. pplconnect wanted to be ahead and develop an app which is first of its kind. RapidValue along with pplconnect implemented an application which allows users to perform all the activities they currently do from their mobile device - managing contacts, making calls, chatting with friends, sending text messages, exchanging s, and socializing via networking sites from any internet-enabled device mobile phone, tablet, laptop, desktop etc. All of the information of the user, available in the mobile device is synchronized between the server and all devices, so that users have the same experience and data whichever device they choose to communicate. 03

4 Benefits This application provides users the flexibility to access and use their personal information stored on their smartphone from anywhere, from any internet-enabled device and at any time. The application is highly secure too users will have their own account created with a unique username and password. Also, in case the user loses their smartphone, they will not lose all the data available on their mobile device. All that the users need to do is to sync-up their device with the server and download all their personal information into the new mobile device. 04

5 Solution Overview RapidValue and pplconnect have developed a virtual smartphone. As mentioned in the previous sections, the pplconnect app allows users to access and use real-time mobile content from any place, from any internet-enabled device. Our main services include - User Experience Design, mobile application development, integration through APIs and mobile testing manual. The app is available for Android Phone and Web (Chrome Browser) users. The app for Windows Phone, iphone and BlackBerry is to be launched in few months. Deployment Architecture The app enables user authentication. It allows access only to app users who have created their account with a unique username and password. Therefore users information is safe. 05
