4 I P A. Connection 1. Connect the Ethernet cable (1) to the port RJ45 (4) on the base (4). It s the 2nd connector from the left. (1) Port for connecting a headset. (2) Port for connecting the handset. (1) (2) (3) Port RJ 45 Extension: to connect an additional function keys module (optional). (4) Port RJ 45 network: to connect the phone to your ADSL Box or router. 2. Connect the AC adapter (5) to the power port (6) on the base (4). It s the 4th connector from the left. 5 P B. Familiarize yourself with the device P The telephone: (1) The navigation keys: 4 arrow keys to move through menus, and an OK button to confirm the choice made. (1) (2) (3) (2) The display gives you the following information: date; time; post number. (4) (5) (6) (7) (8) (9) (13) (12) (11) (10) The mute button: to mute the microphone of your telephone. (11) The function keys: pre-programmed for specific functions (e.g. to record a number on a key). They can also be used for supervision of other positions. (4) The selection buttons: to select on the navigation tab (functions at the bottom of the display). (12) The handsfree button: to communicate without using the telephone set. (5) The buttons vol+ and vol- : to adjust the ringer volume or the other person s volume during a communication. (13) The numeric keypad: for numbering. (14) The phone book: to access the directory of phones or the last 10 numbers dialed. (7) The menu button: to access the phone personalisations (ringtones, language,...) (10) (9) The double-arrow button: to pogram a function. (3) The status indicator: - flashing green: incoming call - solid green: online - fashing red: no network connection. (6) The cancel button: to clear an entry or go back to the previous level of a menu. (14) (8) The headset button: to activate the handsfree headset. 8 9
6 N B A. From conventional telephony to VoIP To use the Plug & Phone solution, you need: -An Internet connection. - A DHCP enabled on your network (by default on any ADSL Box). To connect to the network: 1. Connect the LAN cable to a free Ethernet port on your ADSL Box using the cable supplied (1). Tip: Using the RJ45 PC port, you can connect another network device (other device, PC,...) to this jack. If you no longer have free Ethernet port on your ADSL box, plug the Ethernet cable from your phone to the ADSL Box instead of your PC and then connect your PC to the PC port of the phone. The phone s internal switch will connect your PC to the rest of the network. Example of use: put the phones in cascade to avoid laying new cables for each phone to the ADSL Box. A. Make a call To reach someone internally or externally, there are several possibilities: -by typing the number: 1. Pick up the handset (2). 1. Dial the number (13). or 2. Dial the number (13). 2. Pick up the handset (2). -with the phone book: 1. Select the contact in the phone book. 2. Pick up the handset (2). - in Hands Free mode: 1. Press the Handsfree (12). 2. Dial the number (13). (To return to normal mode, press again Hands Free button (12)). B. Answer a call To pick up a call (indicated with sound, light, or both): 1. Pick up the handset (2). -in handsfree, mode, press the Hands Free button (12). C. Hang up To finish a call: 1. Place the handset (2) down. -in handsfree mode: press End Tip: You can also put a call in secret mode (handset s microphone is muted) by pressing the Mute button (10) which prevents the caller from hearing you. To switch back to normal mode, press the Mute button again
7 B D. Manage the ongoing calls P A. Change the phone language When on a call, you can: To change the display language of the phone, follow these steps: Put a call on hold: 1. Press button Hold to put the person on hold. You can make a second call with NewCall [left selection button (4)] or take the line with Retriv [right selection button (4)]. 1. Press the Menu button (7). 2. Select Config [middle selection button (4)]. Hang up: 1. Press End. 3. On the screen, select the Language menu by pressing Select [left selection button (4)]. 4. On the screen, select the desired language from E. Access your voic the submenu and confirm your choice with the OK button (1). To access your voic , to listen your new or old messages and to customize your greeting message, you simply call 123 and you ll be guided by the voice server. Calls to the voic are free. B. Change the date and time Tip: from an outside line, you can also access or set your voic by dialing In order to identify you, the voice server will ask you to enter the number of your Plug & Phone and the password of your voic (this password can be configured in your Manager: SIP => choose the line => Voic => Password for answering machine). You don t have to set the date and time of your phone: your Plug & Phone phone will be automatically set to the right date and time
8 P C. Change the ringtone P D. Configure shortcuts Your phone has several ringtones in memory that you can choose at your convenience: Basic phone has 11 hot keys: F1 to F10 (11) and the key 99 (9). Optionally, one (or more) extension modules can be connected to increase this capacity. A function can be assigned to each key (e.g. call the last number dialed, dial the last caller back, put on hold a call,...). 1. Press the Menu (7). Example: to program calling the number by simply pressing the F1 key: 1. Press Menu [middle selection button (4)]. 2. Select Config [middle selection button (4)]. 2. On the screen select Function Keys in the menu by pressing select [left selection button (4)]. 3. On the screen, select Ringtones in the menu by pressing Select [left selection button (4)]. 3. The display tells you to enter the key number corresponding to the shortcut key: for this example, press On the screen, select Type of ringing in the drop- 4. On the screen, select Free number by pressing down submenu by pressing Select [left selection button (4)]. Select [left selection button (4)]. 5. Confirm your selection with the OK button (1). 5. Enter the number you want: here Tip: Use the Play to listen to the ringtone before validation. The principle of programming keys is the same for other features and OK [left select button (4)]. 9 A. Manage the call transfers B. Manage the call forwarding To transfer a call: To redirect your calls to another post: 1. Take the call, put the caller on hold pressing the 1. 10 C. Call history The different methods available for call forwarding are: The phone s display can give you information on the different incoming and outgoing calls from your phone: 1. Press Menu [center selection button (4)] and choose your method of forward in Forward calls : 1. Press History [left selection button (4)] to access - Immediate : forward calls to a number. - No answer : forwards calls to a number after a set period of time. - Busy : forward calls to a number if you are on a call. - Protection : block the internal forwarding and the redirections to other positions. - Absent : allow you to specify that you are not available. - Do not disturb : indicate that you don t want to be disturbed. - Delete all references : allows the phone to be available again. 2. Press Modes [right selection button (4)] and choose the modes of incoming/outgoing calls by pressing: - Do not disturb ; - Anonymous ; - Forward calls : choose Active, press the number to forward to and validate; - Lock ; - Absent. the calls menu. 2. On the screen, select Missed calls on the menu for a list of missed calls on your phone, and press the OK button (1). 3. Select Outgoing calls on the menu for a list of outgoing calls from your phone, and press the OK button (1). 4. Select Received Calls in the menu for a list of incoming calls to your phone, and press the OK button (1). 5. Select Clear log in the menu to reset all call lists (missed, ougoing and received), and press the button OK (1). Note: when a call is added to the list of missed calls, a message will appear on the home page of your phone. To clear this warning, you have two options: -Go to Clear log in the History menu to reset your list. -Go to Missed calls in the History menu. NB: it is not possible to activate two methods of reference simultaneously. To enable or disable call forwarding, press Mode [right selection button (4)], choose Forward calls and Activate/Deactivate from the menu
11 D. Post supervision E. The phone book You can view the status of other positions and/or intercept their calls with the help of the lights and sounds of the telephone and the shortcut keys F1 to F10 (11). Thanks to this supervision function, you can know whether the other posts are on a call. To save a contact in your phone book: Example: set up the supervision of phone on key F9 1. Dial your number using the numeric keypad (13). 1. Press Menu [middle selection button (4)]. 2. On the screen, select Supervision in the menu, and press the OK button (1). 2. Press Save [left selection button (4)] and enter the name for the number. 3. Validate the supervision mode with OK (1) and enter the number of the key to link to the telephone number. 3. Enter the name of a group and press Next. 5. Enter a phone number in your billing account, then press OK [central selection button (4)]. 6. A voice notification will confirm that supervision has been setup. Press End. Tip: The function key >abc toggles entering lowercase to uppercase or to enter numbers. The function key Choose at the time of a group creation displays the list of existing groups and lets you select the correct directory. You can also share your contact with all phones of your group. Similarly, recording a contact in the OVH Manager is copied directly on the phone). If the programming is correct, a call to will trigger the light or sound indicator on the function key. 12 F. Conference To delete a contact from your list: To activate a conference call between several parties on a call: 1. Move in and out of a conference call To hide the phone number when you make a call or when someone calls you: To switch to private communication with one of the party during a conference call: 1. Press Menu [middle selection key (4)]. 1. Press Swap [left selection button (4)] as many times as needed to select the desired number (the number appears in the list) and press [left selection button (4)]. During the private conversation, the other interlocutors will be put on hold. 2. On the screen, select Preferences from the menu, and press the OK button (1). 2. To return to a general conference, press Conf [right selection button (4)]. 3. On the screen, select Display my number in the menu, and press the button OK (1). H. The call signal 4.
