CMA EXAM STRUCTURE The CMA Program Consists of Two Parts that can be taken in any order. Each part is four hours in length and includes 100 multiple-choice questions and two 30-minute essays (essays will be available after you have completed the multiple choice section): Three Testing windows are offered in January/February, May/June, and September/October (for any part). Exams are computer-based (schedule appointment(s) with Prometric system). Up to 3 years are allowed to complete both parts. Candidates must register to take at least one exam part within the first 12 months of entering the program. Candidates cannot take the exam more than once during a testing window. Scores are mailed approximately six weeks after the end of month in which applicant took the test.
