APPLICATION CHECKLIST The completed application must accompany the following documents: i) Self-attested copy of marks sheet / Grade card of the qualifying examination. If the marks-sheet of the final qualifying examination is not available, the marks-sheets of the previous semesters should be submitted. ii) Self-attested copy of proof of date of birth. iii) Self-attested copy of community certificate in the case of SC/ST candidates from a competent authority, not below the rank of a Tahsildar iii) Self-attested copy of PWD certificate from competent authority

6 iv) Self-attested sponsorship certificate & experience certificate in the case of sponsored candidates; the original to be presented at the time of viva voce, if called. v) Self-attested no-objection certificate from the employer in the case of part-time candidates; the original to be presented at the time of viva voce, if called. vi) Demand draft towards the application fee. An application without the copies of the required documents is liable to be rejected. 3. ADMISSION PROCEDURE FOR M.TECH PROGRAMMES (WITHOUT SCHOLARSHIP) Mere eligibility will not ensure a call for admission test and/or viva voce. Depending on the number of applications received and the eligibility, a shortlist shall be prepared for a call for admission test. A further screening shall be made after the written test and the list of candidates to appear for viva voce will be published by the respective departments after the admission test. (i) 30% weightage on Percentage of Marks / CGPA obtained in the last qualifying examination, 30% weightage on written Admission Test, and 40% weightage on viva-voce in respective departments at NIT Durgapur. (ii) Sponsored candidates must have a minimum of two years full-time work experience in a registered Firm/ Company /Industry /Educational or Research Institutions/ any Government Autonomous Organizations in the relevant field in which admission is being sought. A letter from the Employer must be furnished along with the application stating that the candidate is being sponsored to get admission. The Employer should also indicate that the candidate will not be withdrawn midway till the completion of the programme and will not claim for a job through Campus interview at NIT Durgapur. (iii) A No-Objection Certificate from the employer is essential for admission to M Tech programme for a part-time candidate and their working place must be within 30 km from NIT Durgapur. 4. HOSTEL Hostel accommodation may be allotted for the full-time students subject to availability. However, there is an acute shortage of hostel accommodation presently. 5. CANCELLATION OF ADMISSION Refund of fee due to the cancellation of admission will be made as per the rules of MHRD, Government of India and the Institute subject to submission of application with all relevant documents. 6. The decision of the respective department shall be final in matters related to the selection process in M. Tech. programmes.
