Eligibility Criteria Any candidate who has passed PUC or 10+2 or equivalent in Science, Arts or Commerce with a minimum of 40% of marks. 3. Learning objectives The programme is designed to produce genus of computer professionals possessing excellent programming knowledge with good managerial skills The Programme strives to achieve a healthy balance between theoretical foundation and practical experience. To train students to suit the user industry requirement and to bridge the gap between academics and industry. 4. Learning Outcomes Students will be capable to develop skills in the critical and practical understanding of information technology and enables them to take up skill oriented jobs. Students are adept to serve the IT industry in capacities ranging from System Analyst, System Designers, Programmers, Database Administrators, Web Developers, Software Test Engineers and Network Engineers. Passing Criteria Student should have obtained 40% in CIA and 40% in ESE (40 marks out of 100 / 24 marks out of 60) in each course in each semester Student should achieve the total number of credits assigned for each programme. 6. Specialization / Electives Electives are not offered for this programme. 7. Value Added Courses Value addition courses are introduced in the curriculum, which may be interdisciplinary subjects for the all- round development of the students. The following Value added courses are as follows: 1. Computer Fundamentals : To know the basics of the computer system, networking and also to be aware of MS_office. 2. Environmental Science : To enable the students to understand the relevance of Biology to contemporary issues in human society 3. Indian Constitution : To impart the knowledge about the constitutional law of India. 4. Web based mini project : To develop small web sites with the knowledge of web programming and DBMS. Also to have an idea of project development. 8. Certificate Courses (Scholastic) To meet the demand of the industry apart from the subjects within the curriculum certificate courses are offered which gives the students multi dimensional insights and an edge over others. Life skills training are compulsory courses given in Personality Development, Effective Communication and Presentation Skills as per the requirements of the industry, and potential employees. Technical courses are offered to keep abreast with the latest technologies and its application to meet the requirements of the industry. 9. Bridge course Bridge courses are usually short, intensive courses that help the student get the assumed knowledge to prepare the student for further study. Bridge course is aimed to provides support for students who are not from the respective stream and they have the required introduction to bridge them to the required level. 5 Bridge courses are given in 1. Basic Mathematics : to bridge the gap in Mathematics from class 10 through 10+2 level. (for students from Non Science streams). 2. Spoken English : To help students to freely communicate and interact in the medium of instruction. 9. Internship / Project Work / Dissertation The student has to undergo one project work during the programme ie, in the VI Semester, which is part of the core subjects which carries 6 credits. 10. Orientation Program Two Day Orientation Program is conducted for the first year students by the department in the first week of starting the classes.introducing students to college life requires presenting as full a view as possible of all that the college has to offer. It basically includes sessions as mentioned below to make them Familiar with the New Environment.: Campus Culture Introduction to the Programme and Syllabus Introduction to Examination system Department Clubs Extracurricular Activities Student organizations 11. Co-curricular activities 1) The department clubs Organizes various technical or domain based events. It gives a tremendous exposure to various areas in IT industry. Also introduces to pioneers in the Technology Field. The clubs are namely : a) Wiztech Club b) IT Czars c) Tech Forum 2) Extension and Community Activities : Helps the students to give back to the society.
