2 Overview of ICT Specialist Program
3 Course Aims Innovation, Imagination and Creativity The program is offered in a learning environment that is technology smart and rich. Parents are required to supply a Laptop and Adobe Creative Cloud Software for students in this program.
4 Hardware and software requirements Bring Your Own Device Program Device Specification 2017 Hardware Specification The device must meet all of the following requirements: Form Factor Laptop, tablet device or convertible device A tablet device must have a physical keyboard attachment with separate keys for A Z and 0 9 and which physically move when depressed. - Laptop as per our BYOD specifications - Adobe Creative Cloud software Physical Dimensions Minimum Screen Size: 9.7 Recommended Operating System* Apple MacOS X 10.8 or newer Apple ios 7 or newer *Other: Microsoft Windows 8, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 Wireless Compatibility* Battery Life Device must have 5GHz n support Advertised battery life of at least six hours * Please take special note of the Wireless Compatibility requirements. We cannot guarantee the device will always be able to access our Department of Education wireless internet. If you are unsure, consider purchasing a recommended device. Additional Considerations: Recommendations Considerations Maximum weight: 2kg Minimum RAM (laptops): 4GB Disk configuration (laptops): Solid State disk (SSD) Accidental loss and breakage insurance Software Specification Additionally, the device must meet all of the following functional requirements pertaining to software: Operating System Web Browser Word Processing Package Spreadsheet Package Presentation Package As per Hardware Specification above. Any modern web browser. Windows computers must run Internet Explorer 11 or newer. Any word processor tool, eg. Pages, Word Any spreadsheet tool, eg. Numbers, Excel Any presentation tool, eg. Keynote, Powerpoint, imovie NOTE: If your child is in the Specialist Technology Program or planning on selecting an IT Pathway, we highly recommend purchasing the Adobe Creative Cloud suite of software:

7 What is a informal interview? Location Learning Hub Facilitated by ICT Department Session is 30 minutes long with 4-5 students per session In preparation for the day, bring along a project, portfolio, or photo journal of past work to the sharing session. This can be something they have worked on as an individual or as part of a group at Primary school. All informal interviews take place in the Learning Hub and are facilitated by a member of the ICT Department. During the session the students will be asked to share their work, discuss the implementation of the concept and answer a few general questions. We want to see students engaged in their work, and excited to tell us about what they have learned.
