1 Microsoft Office Specialist by Ever Morales (6 th period) I am going to tell you about Microsoft Office Specialist position. To have a right to use Microsoft Office Specialist title you need to pass a series of MOS certification exams. The MOS certification validates the proficiency on Microsoft Software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook (Education- Portal, 2011). Microsoft Office Specialist certifications offer many opportunities to work in any job that has any computer skills involved. With the skills of a Microsoft Office Specialist you can also get a better paying job. A Microsoft Office Specialist has the professional skills to get a good job in the United States or anywhere else in the world. You can also have a chance to work for the government if you have all the skills. This includes local agencies and U.S embassies and consulates abroad (U.S. Department of State, 2011). If you are officially certified as a Microsoft Office Specialist you may apply in many interesting positions like:

2 Administrative assistant; office administrator. An Office Administrator gets paid up to $35-45,000 a year. And an Administrative Assistant gets paid up to $11.00 an hour, and $36-41,000 a year (Monster, 2011). It s not a hard thing to do but it takes patience and a lot of practice that builds up professional skills. All of the exams and the time and hard work will definitely be worth it! A person with the skills of a Microsoft Office Specialist will have a very bright and smart future.

4 Office Administrator Career Research by Gerardo Reyes (6 th period) In this essay I will be teaching and explaining to you how Microsoft office specialists work and get their job. I will tell you about what Microsoft exams count towards M.O.S (Microsoft Office Specialist) certifications, and who has the right to the Microsoft Office Specialist title. I will also tell you about which professions benefit from M.O.S. certifications and the responsibilities they have as a Microsoft Office Specialist. The people that truly deserve to be Microsoft Office Specialist are the ones who pass the exams that count towards M.O.S. The exams that count are the Microsoft Office product proficiency exams, such as Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Outlook, and Word and Excel Expert exams (Education-Portal, 2011). Two of the many professions that benefit from Microsoft Office Specialist are an administrative assistant and an office worker. A Microsoft Office Specialist s duty is to enhance and improve office productivity. Also, being certified as Microsoft Office Specialists in Word is required while applying for the office manager position in U.S. embassies abroad (U.S. Department of State, 2011).
