7 Retail Certificate in Retail Knowledge Level 1 BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Business and Retail The Level 1 Business and Retail Certificate course is designed to develop the personal skills and qualities required to succeed at work and to help you achieve your full potential. We provide some practical hands-on Units which will give you the experience of real jobs and careers in a chosen vocational sector. You will complete Functional Skills in English and Mathematics over the course of the year to develop your skills and be able to apply these to a real work environment. This course is designed to provide a highly specialist, work-related qualification in the Business and Retail sector. It will give you the knowledge, understanding and skills to prepare you for employment. The course covers areas such as: Retail, Business, Marketing, Logistics, Business Ethics, Supply Chain & Stock Management and Starting up a Small Business. Full-time Starts September 7
8 Apprenticeships Apprenticeships offer you the opportunity to earn while you learn and gain valuable work experience, whilst achieving nationally recognised qualifications that will ultimately lead you to becoming a fully qualified Apprentice. 9 Business Business and Administration Knowledge Level 2* Business Diploma QCF Level 2 Extended/Subsidiary Diploma in Business Level 3 The NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Business and Administration Knowledge will provide you with a thorough understanding of all aspects of a business administration role. You will gain a wide range of knowledge such as the principles of providing administrative services, managing and producing information and supporting change effectively. This course is available online or paper-based. As this course is distance learning you do not need to come to College to study. Start Anytime The Level 2 Diploma in Business will give you access to rewarding employment or provide you with entry to further study. If you are planning a career in business, we will help you develop both job-specific and business-related skills, as well as a knowledge and understanding of the business world. The course will prepare you for the needs of business or for progression to the Level 3 course. English and/or Mathematics will be included in your timetable if you have not achieved a GCSE at Grade A*-C in these subjects when you commence your course. Full-time Starts September The Extended Diploma in Business enables you to complete nine additional Option Units. If this qualification is added to a 90 Credit Diploma in Business, you will have completed 18 Units - equivalent to three A levels. If you achieve high grades, you will potentially be able to maximise your UCAS points to 420 to assist you in gaining a place at a university of your choice. English and/or Mathematics will be included in your timetable if you have not achieved a GCSE at Grade A*-C in these subjects when you commence your course. Full-time Starts September 9
10 IT Computer Science/Software Development Level 2 Extended Diploma in Business IT Level 3 10 This highly popular Level 2 course will give you a broad understanding of different areas of computing. You will learn programming, multimedia and application development. You will also create your own app for mobile devices. English and/or Mathematics will be included in your timetable if you have not achieved a GCSE at Grade A*-C in these subjects when you commence your course. Full-time Starts September You will gain a deep understanding of business and organisational structures and how this relates to IT infrastructure. You will learn e-commerce, information systems and the impact of the use of IT on business systems. You will gain an in-depth understanding of computer systems, network management, databases and web technologies. These subjects will develop your skills and knowledge needed to gain employment and progress on to university. English and/or Mathematics will be included in your timetable if you have not achieved a GCSE at Grade A*-C in these subjects when you commence your course. Full-time Starts September

14 Accounting Book-keeping AAT Award Level 1 14 This course offers an Introductory level qualification for those wishing to develop a career in Accounting. It will introduce you to the role of a bookkeeper, in particular providing the essential skills in single entry book-keeping. It also introduces the role of spreadsheet software. This course is subject to approval.
15 Apprenticeships Apprenticeships offer you the opportunity to earn while you learn and gain valuable work experience, whilst achieving nationally recognised qualifications that will ultimately lead you to becoming a fully qualified Apprentice. The ITQ Award covers the basics of using the internet, , how to keep safe online and using a Smartphone. Our provision is extremely flexible and you can choose your own sessions which will need to be a minimum of four hours per week. This course is for those who have some experience of using a computer. The ITQ Certificate covers the basics of using a PC including navigating around Windows and using applications such as Word, Excel, Access and Powerpoint. This course is for those who already have experience of using Microsoft Office and would like to advance their skills to a higher level. The ITQ Certificate Level 2 covers the use of MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Publisher at a more Intermediate/ Advanced level including the use of mail merge, advanced formulas and functions, creating reports and queries and professional presentations.
17 IT Extended Certificate in IT User Skills Level 2 (ITQ) This course is for those who already have a good degree of experience of using Microsoft Office and would like to advance their skills to a higher level. The ITQ Level 2 Extended Certificate covers using Microsoft Office at a professional level. Modules include Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Databases, Presentation Graphics, Desktop Publishing, Internet, , Keeping Safe Online and using Smartphones. ITQ Level 1 Award in Social Media This course will help you develop skills in using social media such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Google+, online blogs, LinkedIn and many more for personal use, It will teach you how businesses use social media to promote their business, advertise and interact with their intended audiences. 18 Supporting You in the Workplace 18 Award in Work Skills This course covers Personal Career Preparation, Preparation for a Recruitment Interview and Introduction to Teamwork Skills. The course is of 30 hours duration and is currently offered over three days per week for two weeks (a total of six days) although arrangements can be made to accommodate clients where these hours are not possible. Customer Service Level 1 The Level 1 Award in Customer Service (QCF) is designed for those working in, or aspiring to work in, customer service related roles. It has been developed to give you the opportunity to engage in learning that is relevant to you and which will provide you with opportunities to develop a range of skills, techniques and attributes essential for successful performance in working life. 23 Retail Frontline Management Solutions - Retail (One Day) Increase the effectiveness of your front line Managers and Leaders. This programme is designed specifically for retailers. Course content includes: Building a high performing team Recruitment and induction techniques Steps to becoming empowered as a manager The importance of training. Retail Works Developed by the National Skills Academy for Retail, these tried-and-tested programmes are designed to give people the knowledge and skills needed to gain a job in the retail industry. There are three Retail Works programmes which are: Retail Knowledge (Level 1) Retail Employability and Personal Development Skills (Level 1) Retail Knowledge (Level 2). 23
24 Accounting 24 Accounting AAT Certificate Level 2 This is the first of three Levels (levels two to four) which you are required to achieve to become a fully qualified AAT Accounting Technician. It is also a valuable qualification in its own right for those working in a junior accounting role. AAT Accounting Skills to Run Your Business Award Level 2 This course provides a basic introduction to finance and the specific skills and knowledge required to help you manage your own successful business. It is also an option for those who are planning the start-up of a business whether this is at the end of a college course or as part of a planned career change. This course is subject to approval.
