2 Route to membership Membership of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow is open to surgeons who have completed all stages of the international MRCS examination. This exam incorporates two parts: MRCS Part A and MRCS OSCE. Following your success in MRCS OSCE you will be invited to join our College. MRCS Part A 4 four hour exam - multiple choice question format 4 assesses factual knowledge in applied basic science and principles of surgery 4 run in international centres three times per year 4 sit the exam in any of our international centres across India and the Middle East

3 MRCS OSCE Bangalore - exam Exam format 4 objective stuctured clinical examination 4 open to anyone who has completed MRCS Part A with a UK Royal College 4 half day exam 4 18 examination stations, each of nine minutes duration 4 examined by trained international examiners 4 uses actors and real patients to depict realistic scenarios for assessment 4 assesses your knowledge in anatomy, surgical pathology, applied surgical science and critical care 4 assesses your skills in communication, history taking, clinical assessments and procedures Register your interest at mrcsosce@rcpsg.ac.uk
