MISCELLANEOUS Q: How much does it cost to participate in this competition? A: Registration and participation in the NetRiders competition is free of charge. Q: Why should I register using my academy s computer rather than my personal computer? A: Some school s block Internet access to websites. To ensure that your academy s computer is able to access the competition site, we encourage all students to register from their academy s computers to allow IT departments to modify proxy or firewall settings before the competition dates. Q: Why should instructors register during the Registration Period of October 3-21, 2011? A. Instructors play an integral part in proctoring students for Rounds Two and Three. It simplifies the process if they register during the Registration Period because the competition administrators can easily move all instructors registered into the drop-down list students who advance to Round Two or Round Three need to select from. It also allows Instructors access to all results of the competition as they are posted on the competition page. If an instructor does not register by October 21, 2011, they will still have to register a profile on the site and then send an with their contact details so they can manually be added to the instructor proctor list. This is a time-consuming process for both the instructors and competition administrators and can cause the students to not be able to complete the Instructor Proctor Information task by the deadline required to advance to the next round. Once an exam is opened, it cannot be paused. (See the RULES for specific details.) Q. What happens if the online system freezes? A. The competition site will remember how much time remains. If there is a technical issue, please immediately send an to netriders_uscan@cisco.com stating the issue along with the state/province, Contestant s name, and academy name just in case any other issues arise. If logging back in is possible, please do so. NOTE: NetRiders administrators can tell when exams were accessed, by whom and for how long. Students can restart with the amount of time remaining but cannot be granted be granted more time or a fresh start. Q. What is cause for disqualification of this competition? A. The Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any Contestant for any breach of the Terms and Conditions. It is the responsibility of each Contestant to read these in detail. In particular, Contestants should note the following reasons disqualification may occur: Failure to meet all eligibility requirements Failure to be currently/recently (within the last 9 months from the date registration opens) and validly enrolled in a CCNA Discovery or CCNA Exploration course Failure to complete the Confirmation tasks within 72 hours of notification if selected to advance to Round 2 or Round 3 Failure to complete the Instructor Proctor Information task within 72 hours if selected to advance to Round 2 or Round 3 Failure to be proctored by a Cisco Networking Instructor or Administrator during Round 2 and Round 3 of the Competition Use of external aids (except Engineer Journal used during exam Packet Tracer activity) Q.
