The pathway is provided by 2-wire analog single-line circuits that connect to analog cards in the MAS. Each analog port simulates 2-wire analog lines. Calls to an MAS port are preceded by the called party information from the PBX in DTMF format. The MAS then answers and plays the appropriate greeting. Message Waiting Indicators are set and canceled by dialing a feature access code followed by the extension number. MAS Requirements 2.0 AVAYA MESSAGE APPLICATION SERVER REQUIREMENTS Dialogic D/41JCT-LS or D/120JCT-LS cards (4 and 12 port/cards) Supported Releases: 1.1, 2.0, 3.0, 3.1, 4.0 PBX hardware requirements 3.0 PBX HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS ONS circuits, one per MAS port DTMF senders and receivers Cables: - RJ11 four-wire telephone cord, one per MAS port Disclaimer: Configuration Notes are designed to be a general guide reflecting AVAYA Inc. experience configuring its systems. These notes cannot anticipate every configuration possibility given the inherent variations in all hardware and software products. Please understand that you may experience a problem not detailed in a Configuration Note. If so, please notify the Technical Assistance Center at (800) , and if appropriate we will include it in our next revision. AVAYA Inc. accepts no responsibility for errors or omissions contained herein.

Mitel SX200D/SX200 Light 2 PBX software requirements 3.1 PBX SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS Minimum Supported Software: Generic 1004 E23.0 Supported integration features 4.0 SUPPORTED INTEGRATION FEATURES Items are supported System Forward to Personal Greeting All Calls [ ] Ring/no answer Busy Busy/No Answer [ ] Station Forward to Personal Greeting All Calls Ring/no answer Busy Busy/No Answer [ ] Auto Attendant Call Me Direct Call (See Section 8.1) External Call ID (ANI) [ ] Find Me [ ] Internal Call ID [ ] Message Waiting Multiple Return to Operator Multiple Call Forward N+1 [ ] Outcalling Configuring the Mitel PBX 5.0 CONFIGURING THE MITEL SX-200D/SX200 LIGHT TO INTEGRATE Create the ONS channels in the PBX to be connected to the MAS ports using Customer Data Entry Form 09. These ports must have the following COS options enabled: Option Number Option 206 Call Forwarding - Busy 207 Call Forwarding - Don t Answer 208 Call Forwarding - External 209 Call Forwarding - Follow me 212 Can Flash if Talking To An Incoming Trunk 213 Can Flash if Talking To An Outgoing Trunk 216 Data Security 239 Priority Dial 0

Mitel SX200D/SX200 Light Line Privacy 245 Abbreviated Dialing Access 251 Transfer Dial Tone 261 ONS Voice Mail Port 302 Flash-in Conference Place all the ONS channels created in a circular hunt group using Customer Data Entry Form 17. The pilot number of this hunt group is the MAS System Access Number. It is used by subscribers to call the voice-processing module to retrieve their messages. It is also used by subscribers to forward their phones to the voice-processing module. Create a Speed Dial number using Customer Data Entry Form 31. This Speed Dial number must contain the MAS Hunt Group Access code, followed by 2 seconds pause time (*9*9, as *9 = 1 second pause), followed by *6 (Tone out caller extension number), followed by *9 (1second pause). Forward all subscribers telephones, under Busy/No Answer, to this newly created Speed Dial number. Create a Speed Dial number using Customer Data Entry Form 31. This Speed Dial number must contain the MAS Hunt Group Access Code, followed by 2 seconds pause time (*9*9), followed by #, followed by *6 (Tone out caller extension number), followed by 1 second pause time (*9). At the subscriber telephone set, a VM key can be programmed to invoke this Speed Dial number, used to achieve Direct Call. Subscribers can also simply dial this Speed Dial number to retrieve their messages. 5.1 MWI CONFIGURATION FOR THE MITEL SX-200 LIGHT ONS Message waiting indicators are set and canceled by dialing a feature access code followed by the extension number. Configuring dedicated ports for message waiting lights The Mitel will automatically extinguish a Message Waiting Light (MWL) if the station connects with a member of the hunt group that set the MWL. For example: John receives a message, MAS MWI lights the MWL. John returns to his desk and calls Mary, Mary's telephone is forwarded to MAS MWI. Since John is now connected to the hunt group that turned his light on, the Mitel automatically extinguishes the MWL although John has not logged into his mailbox and listened to his message. This is a result of Mitel's "Messaging- Call Me Back" feature.

Mitel SX200D/SX200 Light 4 The MWL conflict can be avoided by dedicating the ports used for MWI in a separate hunt group. Program these ports to forward always to the pilot number of the Voice Mail hunt group (this will prevent subscribers from calling in on these ports and causing delays for scheduled MWL events). When a MAS MWI message waiting light port sets a MWL, that port is not a member of the hunt group to which subscribers forward their phones and thus will not extinguish the MWL on a forwarded call. Direct Call for Message Retrieval Instruct subscribers to dial the pilot number of the MAS MWI hunt group to retrieve their messages (or program a button on the telephone to do the same). This will retain the Direct Call feature for message retrieval. Otherwise, if a subscriber presses the Message Call Back soft key, the call will forward from the OUTBOUND port into the Voice Mail Hunt group and will lose the integration information; the system will answer with the main greeting. Form 17 - Hunt Groups Header lines indicate which Hunt Group is being programmed, the access code, type of hunting used and type of hunt group. Our example is 221. Ext Num List members of hunt group according to extension number Stn/Set Press this softkey to define type as Stn/Set Circular/Terminal Press softkey - Terminal Hunt Group 02 Enter valid hunt group number, example is 02 Access Code 221 Enter a valid number unique to database, can be a maximum of 5 digits, example is 221 Program a hunt group for the Message Waiting port using the same above procedure. Note: The Message Waiting Hunt Group is NOT the same as the ONS Hunt Group. Form 03 - Class of Service Define Enable the following features: 231 Message Waiting Setup - Bell or 232 Message Waiting Setup Lamp Configuring the Message waiting lights Assign an access code to feature 41 (Send Message). We recommend 41. This code will be used in MAS MWI Setup to set and cancel the Message Waiting Lights.

Mitel SX200D/SX200 Light 5 The following is an example of how the feature 41 (Send Message) access code is used to set and cancel Message Waiting Lights: To send a Message Waiting Light to an extension: Dial the Send Message access code (41) Dial 1 to light the Message Waiting Light Dial the extension number 41 is the Send Message access code and 1 is the code to light the Message Waiting Light. The MWL Prefix On in MAS MWI Setup would be 411. To cancel a Message Waiting Light on an extension: Dial the Send Message access code (41) Dial 2 to cancel the Message Waiting Light Dial the extension number 41 is the Send Message access code and 2 is the code to cancel the Message Waiting Light. The MWL Prefix Off code in MAS MWI Setup would be 412. Message Waiting Parameters Permit Message Waiting Lights Message Waiting Light Prefix ON (see section 5.5) 411 Message Waiting Light Prefix OFF (see section 5.5) MWI CONFIGURATION FOR THE MITEL SX-200D ONS Message waiting indicators are set and canceled by dialing a feature access code followed by the extension number. Configuring dedicated ports for message waiting lights The Mitel will automatically extinguish a Message Waiting Light (MWL) if the station connects with a member of the hunt group that set the MWL. For example: John receives a message; MAS MWI lights the MWL. The MWL conflict can be avoided by dedicating the ports used for MWI in a separate hunt group. Program these ports to forward always to the pilot number of the Voice Mail hunt group (this will prevent subscribers from calling in on these ports and causing delays for scheduled MWL events). When a MAS MWI Message Waiting Light port sets an MWL, that port is not

Mitel SX200D/SX200 Light 6 a member of the hunt group to which subscriber s forward their phones and thus will not extinguish the MWL on a forwarded call. Form 17 - Hunt Groups Create a Hunt Group containing MAS MWI ports: Header lines indicate which Hunt Group is being programmed, the access code, type of hunting used and type of hunt group. Our example is 221.
