3 HOW IT WORKS KEB s C6 Router establishes a secure VPN connection through the global Connect servers. Firewalls can be applied to VPN traffic and data is transmitted via TSL/SSL security protocol. 1 COMBIVIS Connect needs to be installed on a user s computer. Next, the customer must register their domain on the Connect server. USER PLC/ROUTER Finally, the C6 Router in the field must have a valid Runtime license. CONNECT SERVERS 2 Once validated by the Connect servers a secure end-to-end VPN connection is established between the user and the C6 Router. 3 Once connected, a user can view all devices on the machine LAN. 4 C6 ROUTER Remote Access KEB s C6 Router saves time and money. It allows engineers to troubleshoot, commission, and diagnose control systems remotely. As standard, all units feature both Ethernet and Serial interfaces. Even legacy PLC devices using Data Highway+ and Siemens MPI are supported. Even applications off the grid like wind turbines or offshore rigs can be accessed using the optional cellular version. The cellular version works on GSM networks which guarantees accessibility regardless of where your machine is installed. Various antenna options are available up to IP69 versions for outdoor use. In addition to the VPN Router hardware, KEB s Connect software offers a full range of admin and security solutions which help configure the access (see page 5 for more details). Data Logging KEB s powerful router gives customers the opportunity to log PLC tags and send data logs using COMBIVIS Studio HMI software. Data can be stored as a text file,.csv file, or ODBC database file on 4GB of internal memory for future analysis. Datalog files can be automatically pulled using KEB s API interface or pushed using an alarm notification. Data Visualization Assets can be monitored and analyzed in real-time with custom dashboards for visualization. High quality graphics allow for trending graphs and many visualization objects such as buttons, switches, gauges, and meters. Dashboards can be seen locally at job sites with the integrated webserver on the router or remotely using COMBIVIS Connect. 4

Connect features extensive admin options that allows users, access rights, and access times to be managed. Extensive admin options Routing rules (NAT rules) allow for data routing between devices connected to the WAN interface and devices connected to the LAN interface. Custom firewall policies control network traffic for data safety and bandwidth optimization. Connect s powerful API interface can be used with the Data Logging functionality to pull the data to desired databases. Automate remote connections with API interface Networking with security The importance of security cannot be overstated. The C6 Router was designed for industrial applications and has thoughtful hardware and software features that help ensure security. The C6 Router features a set of digital I/O that can be easily configured. For example, in order to enable the router to transmit, a local user might need to turn keyswitch. Or, an output from the router can be fed back to the PLC to confirm it is in transmitting mode. KEB s Connect software features a number of different security and firewall settings. The Connect platform was recently audited to the IEC standard and carries a 3rd-party certificate from cybersecurity firm ProtectEM. 5
