1 1. Is 10GB a requirement? Questions and Answers for Request for Proposal #03588 Vendors are welcome to quote on both 10GB and 1GB options. 2. The RFP indicates that you would like to replace the 5 2 nd floor switches with 3 48 Port PoE switches. Can you please confirm that you would like to reduce the port count on the 2 nd floor to 144 ports? 3. Do you require any specific or unique functionality on any of the routers listed? 4. Are the two ASA 5510's currently configured for a failover internet connection via the T1 line? No but the ASA s are configured for failover with one another in case of hardware failure. 5. If we are eliminating the T1 line and Cisco 2620 will you be utilizing the only the single 100Mbps Interconnection moving forward? 6. The primary Internet circuit is 100Mbps do you have the specifications on that fiber drop? Actual media type being used 100BASE-LX, 100BASE-FX, or 1000SX just stepped down to 100Mbps? Make & model of the media converter? The Physical connector to ISP Fiber drop, for example "SC", "ST" or LC connectors? The ISP fiber drop is a multimode SC that connects to the media converter box. This box converts the line to a fast Ethernet signal. It has come to EGPAF s attention that the media converter box is part of the SLA with Cogent and cannot be changed or removed unless the line is upgraded from 100Mbps to a 1000Mbps. Moving to a 1000Mbps line is not part of this project scope, however, any equipment should be able to handle 1000Mbps in anticipation of a future line upgrade. 7. What is the exact Cisco part number for the two edge Catalyst 2960 switches and do you know what version of software is on these switches, Lan Base or Lan Lite? WS-C TT-L; Lan Base.

2 8. What type of fiber is run between the access switches and 3rd floor core HP 3400CL's, multimode 1000SX? The connector is an LC/SC 62.5/ Will you be upgrading to 10GE or sticking with 1GE fiber uplinks from the new stack on the 2nd floor to the new Core? Vendors are welcome to quote on both 10GB and 1GB options. 10. What is currently acting as the DHCP Server on the network? Do the services requested include adds/changes to the existing DHCP Server Scopes? A Windows server performs DHCP for the internal network, while the ASA handles DHCP for the VPN. Services should include reconfiguring the IP scopes to increase the number of available client addresses for DHCP. 11. Are any needed adjustments to Cisco ASA Firewall configuration included in the requested services? None are anticipated but if a proposed new network configuration would require it, then yes. 12. Is the racking and cabling of new equipment included the requested services? Professional services should include the racking, cabling, setup, and configuration of the new equipment on our network. Racking and cabling will have to be done on weekend hours to avoid interruption of network services for any of our offices during the week. 13. Is there a vendor preference for new switches including HP, Cisco, others..? Cisco. 14. Will the new equipment (Core & 2nd Floor Stack) require redundant power supplies and/or battery backup (UPS)? Redundant power supplies. 15. Can we get the running configuration or better yet the "Show Tech" from the current switches and internet routers? This will be provided to the winning vendor.

3 16. What is the current IP subnet ranges being used at both DC and LA locations, and do you have an IP Addressing inventory or spreadsheet? There are 6 subnet ranges used at the DC office, and 2 are used in LA. All ranges are x.x/24 subnets. An IP addressing inventory will be provided to the winning vendor. 17. Are there plans on adding more vlans or ip subnets in addition to what is in place now? We want to consolidate vlans where it makes sense. The IP subnets should be reconfigured to increase the number of available addresses for DHCP. 18. At the LA site are you using any vlans on the current Cisco 3560 switches or plan on implementing any? Yes, the data and voice networks are on two separate vlans. 19. On the core switches are you utilizing any dynamic routing protocols at either location, For example OSFP, RIP, BGP? 20. What are the Poe devices that will be connecting to the new switching, Access Pointsmake/model, IP Phone - make/model? POE devices on our network include: a. Cisco IP Phone 7940 b. Polycom models SoundStation IP 7000, SoundStation IP 6000, SoundPoint IP 650 c. HP V-M n access points 21. I need an idea of how much POE or how many POE devices will be used on this. 4 22. Would you consider a cloud-based option that was less expensive to acquire, implement and manage? 23. Would you consider a cloud-based option that offered easier management, as long as no EGPAF data was ever sent to the cloud? 24. Would you consider a solution with a usage license, should it be similar to SmartNet? 25. Is there a hard requirement for any specific pieces of the network to have 4-hour replacement, or is next business day sufficient? If 4-hour replacement is a requirement, what specific parts of the network (routers, switches, etc) does it pertain to? Currently most equipment is under a 4-hour replacement contract in order to minimize any potential downtime. Vendors should quote on all support options available. 26. Proposal note: Reconfigure the Cisco 2960 switches to operate in HA mode between the Cisco 2821 router and the Cisco ASAs, or replace with equipment that supports this configuration. The 2960 switch doesn t do high availability mode, are you looking just to have two redundant switches to swap out the 2960s? 27. Do you want to replace the HP core switches with Cisco or HP? Cisco. 28. Also I am assuming anything not noted doesn t need to be upgraded/changed? No but an optional component to be considered is replacing the current wireless LAN in the DC office. This should be treated as an add-on piece for the proposal. 29. Can we bid non-cisco equipment if the functionality is equivalent to the Cisco gear specified?

5 30. What is required besides installation in the first year? Are you looking for the vendor to provide on-going management? Hardware maintenance. On-going management is an optional add-on component. 31. What is required for the three option years? Are you looking for the vendor to provide ongoing management? Hardware maintenance, if possible. On-going management is an optional add-on component. 32. Are you looking for additional capacity, such as 10G in the backbone? If so, please provide the fiber specification currently deployed. Vendors are welcome to quote on both 10GB and 1GB options. The current fiber connector is an LC/SC 62.5/ Are you looking for new capabilities in the firewall, for example application-aware capabilities? No, we do not plan to replace the ASA s at this time.
