2 ShoreTel Shoregear 90 R14.2 Build (with Ingate SIParator) IP PBX Configuration Guide 1 Introduction This document describes how to configure the ShoreTel IP PBX to interoperate with the Charter network. It does not provide any information how to provision, configure or use the features of ShoreTel. Please refer to the documentation provided with the IP PBX or contact the vendor. 2 Configuration 2.1 SIP Trunk Setup To setup the SIP trunk, follow the step-by-step procedure. 1 Under Administration Navigate to Trunks -> Trunks Groups 2 At Add new trunk group at site: Select Headquarters 3 At of type: Select SIP 4 Click Go button 5 Go to the next table. 1

3 1 Under Edit SIP Trunk Group Charter is an example Name: Enter apprpriate name 2 Profile: ITSP is a default SIP Profile Select ITSP 3 Under Inbound: Number of Digits From CO: Enter 10 4 DNIS Verify checkbox is unchecked 5 DID Verify checkbox is checked 6 Under Tandem Trunking At User Group: Select Executives 7 Go to the next table. 2

4 1 Under Outbound: 9 is an expample At Network Call Routing: Access Code: Enter the appropriate access code 2 Local Area Code: 303 is an example. This depends on DID range Enter the appropriate local area code 3 Billing Telephone Number: Enter the appropriate billing telephone number +1(303) is an example. Usually this will be the first number in DID range provisioned by service provider. 4 Under Trunk Services: Verify the following check-boxes are checked: a b c d e f Local Long Distance International Enable Original Caller Information Easy Recognizable Codes Caller ID not blocked by default 5 Go to the next table. 3

5 1 Under Trunk Digit Manipulation: At Remove leading 1 for Local Area Codes Check the checkbox 2 All other values are set by default 3 Click the Save button 4 Procedure completed 4

6 2.2 Individual Trunk Configuration To setup an individual trunk configuration, follow the step-by-step procedure. 1 Under Administration Navigate to Trunks -> Individual Trunks 2 At Add new trunk group at site: Select Headquarters 3 At of type: Select Charter 4 Click Go button 5 Go to the next table. 1 Under Edit Record Charter is used as an example Name: Enter the appropriate name 2 Switch: Select Shoregear 90 3 IP Address: IP address is used an a example Enter the LAN side of the Adtran 4 Number of Trunks: IP address is used an a example Enter the appropriate number of trunks 5

7 5 Click the Save button 6 Procedure completed 2.3 User Group Configuration Setup To setup a user group configuration, follow the step-by-step procedure. 1 Under Administration Navigate to Users -> User Groups 2 In the User Groups window Select Executives 3 Go to the next table 6

8 1 Under Outgoing Trunk Groups (Access Code): Click Charter (9) 2 Leave all the remaining parameters as default. 3 Click the Save button 4 Procedure completed 2.4 Individual User Configuration Setup To setup an individual user group configuration, follow the step-by-step procedure. 1 Under Administration Navigate to Users -> Individual Users 2 In the Individual Users At Add a new user at site: Select Headquarters 7

9 3 Click Go button 4 Go to the next table 1 In the User screen Charter is used as an example In the General tab First Name: Enter the appropriate name 2 Number: 200 is used as an example Enter an appropriate number 3 License Type: Select Extension and Mailbox 4 Access License: Select Professional 5 DID Range (o of 1 available)charter is an example Check checkbox Select the appropriate range 6 DID Number: Enter the appropriate DID number The DID number is provisioned for the specific user. This number should be in the DID Range selected is used as an example. 7 PSTN Failover: Select None 8 User Group: Select Executive 9 Primary Phone Port: Click IP Phones Select the MAC address of the phone 8

10 10 All other settings are left as default 11 Click the Save button 12 Procedure completed 3 Ingate Configuration 3.1 Selecting Model To select the model, follow the step-by-step procedure. 1 Start : Start Up Tool TG 2 Select Model: Ingate Firewall/SIParator 3 Click Next button 4 Procedure completed 9

11 3.2 Contact Ingate To contact Ingate, follow the step-by-step procedure. 1 At the Ingate Startup Tool TG This option is selected if configuring for the first time. Click radio button Configure the unit for the first time or Change or update configuration of the unit 2 Click check-box Configure SIP trunking 3 Under Inside(Interface Eth0): This is the IP address of LAN side of the Ingate SIParator IP Address: Enter appropriate IP address 4 Under Select a password The password for Ingate Enter the appropriate password 5 Click Contact button 6 Procedure completed 10

12 3.3 Network Topology To setup network topology, follow the step-by-step procedure. 1 In the Network Topology tab For Product Type: Select Standalone SIParator 2 Under Inside(Interface Eth0): This is the IP address of LAN side of the Ingate SIParator IP Address: Enter appropriate IP address 3 Netmask: This is IP address of Outside (Interface Eth1) Enter appropriate IP address 11

13 4 Confirm Allow https access to web interface from Internet: Is unchecked 5 Gateway: The Gateway is the default gateway of the subnet used for Ingate Enter appropriate IP address 6 Under DNS Server This is the primary DNS Server of the network. Primary: Enter appropriate IP address 7 Procedure completed 3.4 IP-PBX To setup the IP-PBX, follow the step-by-step procedure. 12

14 1 In the IP-PBX tab For IP-PBX (should be located on the LAN) Type: Select ShoreTel ShoreGear 2 IP Address: This is the IP address of Shoretel PBX Enter appropriate IP address 3 Confirm Use domain name: Is unchecked 4 Procedure completed 13

15 3.5 Service Provider To setup the service provider, follow the step-by-step procedure. 1 In the ITSP_1 tab In Name: Select Generic(no register) 2 Under Provider Address This is the IP address of Service Provider IP Address: Enter appropriate IP address 3 All other values are default 4 Procedure completed 14

16 3.6 Uploading Configuration To setup the service provider, follow the step-by-step procedure. 1 Confirm Verbose Logging(SIP debug) Enable: Is checked 2 Under Final Step Click radio button Logon to web GUI and apply settings 3 Click the Upload button Note: After the configuration is uploaded to Ingate through the startup tool Login to the ingate using GUI. 4 Procedure completed 15

17 3.7 Ingate Trunk Configuration To setup the Ingate trunk configuration, follow the step-by-step procedure. 1 In Ingate SIParator navigate to SIP Trunks -> Trunk1 2 Click the SIP Trunk tab Under SIP Trunking Service In Service Name: Select Generic (no register) 3 Restrict to calls from : Select Generic(no register) 4 Outbound Proxy: Enter the IP address of the LAN side of the Adtran 5 All the other values are default 6 Go to the next table 1 Under PBX Line This allows the caller name from ShoreTel to PSTN Display Name Enter $(from.uqdname) 2 All the other values are default. 16
