Apply appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe electrical work practices. See NFPA 70E in the USA, CSA Z462 or applicable local standards. See the MultiTech rcell 100 Series technical data sheet to verify this router meets your requirements and local standards. DIN Rail Mounting The DIN rail mounting accessory MTDINMTRMTC can be used to mount the router to a DIN rail. We recommend mounting the router with the three-signal LED visible outside the panel. This allows you to quickly assess the wireless signal quality. Power Supply The router accepts any 7-32 V DC power supply. MultiTech cable MTFPC-532- DC enables connectivity directly from the router to an existing 24 V DC local power supply. If the router is installed in a secondary switchboard, the power supply must comply with overvoltage category II protection. Schneider Electric power supply reference ABL8MEM24006 complies with this requirement. If the router is installed in a primary LV switchboard, the power supply must comply with overvoltage category III protection. Schneider Electric power supply reference AD complies with this requirement. External Antenna There are two reasons to use an external antenna instead of the included MultiTech antenna: Page 4

5 MultiTech Router Commissioning for Com X 200/210/510 Schneider Electric Router Configuration Configuring the Router with a PC Com X Configuration Improve gain of reception due to the antenna itself. Improve the reception conditions because the external antenna can be fixed far from other metallic parts and in a higher location. The router is compatible with the ErcoGener external GPRS/3G antenna available in the Schneider Electric catalog (EBXA-ANT-5M). The installer must connect a PC and launch a navigator to commission the router. The router provides a simple wizard that allows the user to enter the APN settings. After the router is commissioned, it keeps its settings in non-volatile memory, and you will not have to reuse this interface. The router is a DHCP server. Connect an Ethernet cable from the router to your PC, and the PC receives an IP address in the range xxx. This may take two to three minutes. Follow the steps below to configure the router. Connecting the Router to Com X 1. Open a browser and enter the IP address of the router: Enter the router username and password (admin and admin by default). 3. Select the router mode: Network Router. 4. Change the password: Enter the current password (admin by default), and a new password (twice). 5. Set the Date and Time (optional). 6. Accept the default IP settings. 7. Set the APN. If the SIM card is provided by DSP (reference EBXA-GPRS- SIM), the APN is apn.rsp.go2se.com 8. Restart the router. The Com X must have its WAN interface (Eth1) configured as DHCP client. If connecting to a new Com X, this is the default setting. If the router uses a Digital Services Platform SIM card (from Schneider GPRS modem EBXA-GPRS-SIM), the Com X must have its proxy configured as described below. To finalize setup, you must disconnect your PC from the router and connect the Com X to the router. 1. Connect an Ethernet cable between the router and the Com X Eth1 port. 2. Connect an Ethernet cable between your PC and the Com X Eth2 port. Page 5

6 Schneider Electric MultiTech Router Commissioning for Com X 200/210/510 NOTE: The Com X Eth2 interface is a DHCP server, so the PC receives an IP address in the range xxx. 3. Power on the Com X and wait until the Power LED turns green (this may take several minutes). 4. Launch a browser and enter the Com X IP address ( ) in the address bar of the browser. 5. Log in as the default administrator (admin/admin). Continue commissioning the Com X. Network configuration The Com X must use the default network configuration (2 separate ports), and the Wan Configuration (Eth1) must be configured as DHCP client. If you are configuring a previously commissioning Com X, click Settings > General settings > Network settings to verify these settings are correct. Configuring Proxy Settings with EBXA-GPRS-SIM SIM Card The router is compatible with the EBXA-GPRS-SIM GPRS modem SIM card (Vodaphone provider). If you use this SIM card in the router, you must set up a proxy at the Com X level. 1. Go to Settings > General settings > Proxy settings. 2. Enter the following settings: Proxy address: proxy-voda.na.struxurewarecloud.com Proxy port: 8888 Page 6
