Simply.

3 Complete platform for wireless IQRF technology IQRF is a technology for low power, low speed, low data volume, reliable and easy to use wireless connectivity in sub-ghz ISM bands, ranging tens and hundreds of meters (up to several kilometers in special cases or in networks) e.g. for telemetry, industrial control and automation of buildings and cities (street lights, parking etc.). It can be used with any electronic equipment, whenever there is a need of wireless transfer, e.g. remote control, monitoring of remotely acquired data or connection of more devices to a wireless network. IQRF is extremely easy to implement. TR transceivers IQRF is based on wireless RF transceivers (TR). Operating system (OS) supporting Mesh networking makes them powerful but unusually easy to apply. Specific functionality can be achieved by application SW placed by the user into the internal MCU. DCTR transceivers DCTR is a standard TR transceiver additionally supporting so called Hardware profiles (HWP), which are ready-to-use SW plug-ins enabling specific implementation without programming. The application is controlled just by sending and receiving commands and data via simple protocol (called Direct Peripheral Access, DPA). The implementation is even much easier than when programming. Full networking is completely ready. Mesh network In addition to normal operation, every (DC)TR can route packets for other Nodes to prolong the range and increase the reliability (Mesh network). Thus, for IQRF, dedicated routers are optional but not necessary. IQRF networking is very sophisticated, utilizes a lot of unique patented features but still remains outstandingly easy to implement. Just the addressees must be specified and then the packets are delivered transparently. Gateways Gateways (GW) are interface devices between IQRF wireless and other complex communication standards, either local (USB) or remote, wired (Ethernet) or wireless (WiFi, GSM), optionally enabling also Internet connectivity and easy implementation of Internet of Things. The most demanded GW feature is a datalogger. IQRF network GW A standard protocol e.g. Ethernet IQRF Cloud The easiest but powerful IQRF to Internet connection is IQRF Cloud. This is a server providing a transparent bidirectional encrypted channel between end devices in IQRF network and worldwide users. The datalogger connected to a database on the server allows complex control, data filtration and visualisation via API functions by using high-level standard tools like PHP, database and JavaScript. Additionally, simple remote management via a web browser is available as well. It is possible to use IQRF Cloud from basic version to implementation of the licensed server. Efficient development tools Hardware Kits and sets for rapid development and solderless prototyping Software IQRF IDE development environment (programmer, debugger, RF scanner, network management, visualization and testing) IQRF SDK development package for programming in C, Python and Java. Wireless can easily be implemented whenever Java runs. IQRF transceiver allows implementation of network Coordinator as well as common networking device (Node), dynamically switched. It enables chained IQMESH subnetworks. Every network Node also works as a router in background. All IQRF transceivers (including network Coordinator and routers) can operate in standard (STD) or power saving modes (LP, XLP). RF parameters and features are configurable and programmable. IQRF transceivers allow upgrades to current OS version (released by the manufacturer). This can be done at the user (from OS v3.06d). TR modules are normally delivered with current IQRF OS version. However, any lower OS version can be ordered upon request

8 IQRF interfaces Simple interfaces are available directly at TR modules p Standard communication Full duplex SPI slave is the basic IQRF wired interface. It is directly supported by IQRF OS via a set of powerful functions and runs in OS background. UART, SPI master/slave and I2C master/slave are supported by MCU HW and can also work in background. Ready to use examples are available. Other standards (e.g. Dallas 1-wire) can be implemented by SW. Ready examples are available. Proprietary communication Any simple wired protocol can be implemented by application code. Other peripherals Supported by MCU HW: PWM, A/D and D/A converters, analog comparator, HW timer, For DCTR (data controlled) approach under DPA, without programming: DCTR transceivers are managed by Control interface, either locally (wired, from/to an optional control system) via SPI or UART or remotely (wireless, from/to IQRF mesh network). Other resources are accessible as standard peripherals with DPA framework support. User-specific peripherals and non-standard behavior of standard peripherals can be handled by Custom DPA handler. 9 IQRF gateways IQRF gateway (GW) is a plug and play device implementing an interface between IQRF and a complex communication standard. Furthermore, gateways offer additional functionality, e.g. extended performance, memories, date and time. Thus, they can be used for more complex tasks (e.g. data monitoring, collection and processing). Internal datalogger is optionally supported by IQRF Cloud server for even more user-friendly access via API and web interfaces, enabling remote monitoring, data logging and control utilizing high-level tools such as PHP, database and JavaScript which the users are familiar with. The GW firmware is fixed but configurable. Specific functionality can be achieved by an application program for (DC)TR inside the GW. The data controlled approach (wireless control without programming) is supported. For communication and configuration the following SW options are available: IQRF IDE environment, internal web server and an open communication protocol. Gateway operation modes Gateway a transparent channel between IQRF and a standard protocol. Datalogger data incoming from IQRF is automatically stored in GW buffer and optionally forwarded to the IQRF Cloud server hosted either by MICRORISC (free) or by the user oneself (licensed) for easy but secure access to data from GW and sending commands to GW, both via API or web interfaces. 12 Routers, end devices and accessories IQRF components such as routers, gateways and end devices can be adapted by the user for specific functionality by programming of the main internal MCU (if applicable) and/or the (DC)TR inside, by configuration via USB, internal web server etc. Ready-to-use devices are upgradable at the user with the firmware released by the manufacturer. Generic devices are fully user-specific programmable. Routers TR transceiver as a background router In addition to normal operation, any (DC)TR can concurrently route packets for other devices. This routing is transparent from the user s point of view. E.g. TRs controlling heating radiators can route packets for all other radiators in the whole building, no dedicated routers are needed. Dedicated router No programming needed Configurable Supplied directly from mains RT IQRF unique: Battery operated routers enabled End devices Remote controllers Multifunctional sensor RC-04D-7 GW-USB-13A SHD-SE-01 Visual control panels IQRF conncectivity Touchscreen displays Rich in peripherals Fully programmable and configurable VCP-01 With OLED display Temperature, G-sensor, illumination, VCP-02 To be built-in Antennas Omnidirectional (small dimensions, range in hundreds of meters or about 1 km) Directional (range in kilometers) AN-09 AN-08 AN-01 AN-06 AN-07 AN-D01 Radiation patterns Planar 24 cm Yagi 60 cm Radiation patterns Using antennas for long range Counterpoise effect: RF range strongly depends on construction of the equipment, especially on PCB layout. One of the key factors is the distance of bulk elements like ground planes and batteries from the antenna. When located on proper position to create antenna counterpoise, such an artificial ground can serve to extend the range. RF signal stays omnidirectional, see Radiation patterns above. Example: Just a simple prolonging the space between TR and DK-EVAL-04A kit ( see page 15 ) by the RNG-EXT-01 extender to the right distance increases the range from 500 m to 1100 m. Custom antenna designs: The turn-key custom antennas can be designed by IQRF manufacturer. Connectors, cables, power supplies and service tools to scan and analyse RF spectrum are also available. 11 To make any device wireless, w orking in Mesh networks and connectable to Internet. Simply.

13 Networks IQRF routing IQRF transceivers implement light but efficient built-in IQMESH protocol supporting either simple wireless connectivity or even complex networks. Performance and reliability of any network especially depends on routing mechanism. IQMESH supports various routing techniques, numerous unique and often patented features and selectable parameters to fit the functionality according to project-specific needs. Routing algorithms can vary from having the complete paths under control with respect to given arrangement of individual nodes to discovering the routing structure fully automatically, quite transparently from the topology point of view. IQMESH based networks primarily use directional flooding scheme and TDMA frames which ensures an efficient and collision free traffic. A packet is typically propagated from the Coordinator to the Node for control purposes or back for a response or data collection. The forward routing mechanism is illustrated below: C R1 N5 N1 R2 R4 N2 N4 R3 Frame N3 R5 C R1 N1 R2 N5 R4 N2 N4 R3 Frame N3 R5 C R1 N5 N1 R2 R4 N2 N4 R3 Frame N3 R5 C R1 N1 R2 N5 R4 N2 N4 R3 Frame N3 R5 C R1 N1 R2 N5 N2 N4 R3 R4 Frame N3 R5 1 Coordinator Node Reached node Active node (TX) Available link Activated link Active time slot Fast response command Besides of other sophisticated networking features, IQRF transceivers have implemented a powerfull tool to address all or selected network Nodes and receive the response with optional data from all of them in the fastest possible time (from about 230 Nodes in about 30 s). This FRC (Fast Response Command) utility is patented. Networking with DCTR transceivers The DPA framework utilized in DCTR transceivers solves the routing transparently. Just the addressees must be specified and then the packets are delivered automatically. This, together with the data controlled approach with no programming needed makes DCTR very easy to implement. The entire network traffic is driven by simple commands only specifying where and what to perform. IQMESH features Dynamic timing: selectable number of hops and time slots to increase throughput and reduce power consumption and noise Bonding, Networking and User encryption Advanced network management tools: remote bonding of Nodes to network, backup, seamless replacement of network devices, Real-time Discovery (routing paths found automatically) for transparent addressing of Nodes placed in random way Bonding, Discovery and FRC also in low power mode Automated building of a network Simultaneous work in two networks enables networks chaining Wireless upgrades of all SW (OS, HWP, Custom handler and application code) simultaneously for all devices in a network
