4 Preparing for installation IMPORTANT: For regulatory identification purposes, the HP 527 Dual Radio ac Unified Wired-WLAN Walljack is assigned a regulatory model number (RMN) BJNGA-FB0005. This regulatory number should not be confused with the marketing name HP 527, or the product codes JH048A (AM), JH049A (WW), JH050A (JP), and JH051A(IL). JH052A (AM) and JH053A (WW) are product codes for packages with 20 HP 527 APs. The HP 527 Dual Radio ac Unified Wired-WLAN Walljack is referred to as AP in this document. General safety recommendations To avoid possible bodily injury or equipment damage, read the following safety recommendations before you install the AP. The recommendations do not cover every possible hazardous condition. Keep the AP clean and dust-free. Make sure the ground is dry and flat and anti-slip measures are in place. Do not place the AP in a moist area and avoid liquid surrounding the AP. Keep the AP and installation tools away from walkways. European Union Commission Regulation 1275/2008 The power data for affected products including the power consumption of the product in networked standby if all wired network ports are connected and all wireless network ports are activated is provided in section P14, Additional information, of the product IT ECO Declaration available at Examining the installation site The AP must be used indoors. To ensure correct operation and long service life of your AP, install it in an environment that meets the requirements described in Table 1. Examine the LED status to make sure the AP can operate correctly. For more information about AP LEDs, see "Appendix B LEDs." Verify that cabling has been completed. 2

6 Installing the AP 1. Orient the mounting bracket with the UP arrow pointing up and then use two of the supplied mounting screws to secure the bracket to the electrical outlet box. The two long mounting screws are for an EU electrical outlet box. The two short mounting screws are for a US electrical outlet box. Figure 3 Connecting cables to the ports on the back of the AP 3. Align the installation hole in the rear of the AP with the standout on the mounting bracket. 4

8 Figure 4 Aligning the installation hole 4. Push the AP onto the mounting bracket, and then slide it down until it is fully engaged. Then secure the AP to the bracket by using the Phillips-head screw or the security-head security Torx-10 screw. Do not let go of the AP until you confirm that it is secure in place. 5

16 Item Power output Description When an 803.3at (PoE+) power source or a local power source is used, the HP 527 can power other devices as follows: 802.3af class 1/2/3 PoE Out from LAN port 3. USB power supply from the USB port. When an 803.3af power source is used, the HP 527 cannot provide power to other devices. 13
