Relying n Qgnify s vast experience and rbust vide management cre, VisinHub prvides a vide-centric security management slutin that enhances verall effectiveness and efficiency. VisinHub includes new, rbust VMS capabilities as well as situatinal awareness and effective security incident management, making it the mst pwerful VMS in the market. VisinHub addresses the needs f security cnscius rganizatins, leveraging vide as the main sensr in the cntrl rm while adding valuable data frm ther security systems, such as access cntrl, fire detectin, intrusin detectin and alarm panels. The slutin cmprises: Smart recrders Applicatin Management Server Web-based cntrl applicatin Administratin and cnfiguratin applicatins The VisinHub Vide Management Slutin prvides cmprehensive and rbust recrding and strage slutins fr a multitude f vertical markets and their assciated netwrk tplgies. The VisinHub VMS allcates the prper recrding, strage and mnitring resurces per deplyment requirement. Cntrl is the main VisinHub daily-peratin applicatin that manages vide and ther sensrs, investigatin, incident management, and s n. The Web client uses infrmatin cming frm the middle tier and plays vide and audi frm the VMS. The VisinHub vide surveillance management slutin allcates the prper recrding, strage and mnitring resurces per deplyment requirement. Figure 2-1: VisinHub Slutin Cmpnents 2.1 Centralized Architecture In a centralized deplyment, all cmpnents are managed frm a central lcatin, and all vide streams are cncentrated n the central hub, where they are recrded and stred. The netwrk infrastructure must supprt cntinuus cnnectivity t avid recrding vide lss at the center. If the edge device supprts lcal recrding via SD card r internal HDD, the SVR cluster at the center wuld be able t cmpensate the netwrk discnnectin by recvering the lst recrding time segment frm the edge device lcal strage. 2.2 Distributed Architecture with Lcal Recrding In a distributed deplyment, all cmpnents are managed frm a central lcatin, and the vide streams are recrded n the distributed sites (e.g., rail statins r retail banks). If the netwrk fails between the remte site and the center, the vide recrding cntinues at the remte site. User lgin must have netwrk cnnectivity t the central site. Lcal vide viewing at the remte site is pssible frm the lcal recrder at the site. Page 4 f 11

7 Architecture and Technlgy Figure 2-2: Distributed Architecture with Lcal Recrding 2.3 Distributed Architecture with Remte Independent Sites In a multi-site distributed deplyment, the remte sites act as independent VisinHub sites. Each site is administrated separately. The VisinHub, deplyed at the center, enables remte mnitring and cntrl ver the remte sites. The central VisinHub site cntains a dedicated vide gateway fr each remte site. Each gateway is cnnected t the remte Vide Applicatin Server using a certificate fr mutual authenticatin. As the servers are mutually authenticated, the central site gets administratr authrizatin fr the remte site and can see the remte site s sensrs. 8 System Resilience 3 System Resilience 3.1 High Availability The VisinHub ecsystem allws fr high availability acrss all majr system cmpnents, including the middle tier and the SVRs. VisinHub prvides the means t save critical recrded infrmatin n mre than ne physical recrder and strage unit. Dual-recrding enables ne edge device t be recrded n tw recrders. With the Central Strage Server (CSS), vide can be peridically r ffladed t a separate vide archive. The catch-up feature enables cntinuus recrding, retrieving any missing recrding segments frm the edge device lcal strage (SD card r lcal HDD) fllwing netwrk discnnectins. VisinHub high availability can be achieved by utilizing VMware virtualizatin infrastructure. An active-passive redundancy slutin is implemented by VMware HA. 3.2 Redundancy Fr missin-critical applicatins, reliability is essential. VisinHub s Zer-Pint-f-Failure mechanism autmatically switches ver t back-up units in the event f any system cmpnent failure. The VisinHub slutin is a true Zer-Pint-f-Failure slutin, with redundancy ptins fr all its cmpnents: vide recrders and its middle tier. VisinHub s Redundancy ptins include: Middle Tier High Availability The middle tier is prvided with a high-availability architecture ptin. Even if the primary middle tier server fails, the backup server cntinues t cntrl and maintain the verall VisinHub system peratins and handling. VisinHub lcal redundancy is implemented via the VMware High Availability slutin. Smart Vide Recrder (SVR) Redundancy The VisinHub Smart Vide Recrder (SVR) is respnsible fr recrding vide streams riginating frm edge devices (IP cameras and/r vide encders) t a strage device. The recrding functinality is essential fr investigatin and any pst-event management. VisinHub turnkey SVR prvides a resilient physical architecture including dual pwer supplies, multiple redundant fans, and multiple redundant netwrking interfaces. Redundant SVR (R-SVR) The SVR platfrm supprts N+1 cluster cnfiguratin where up t 15 units can be defined in a redundant cluster. Fr this cluster, a ht-standby unit is ready t replace a malfunctining SVR. Allw fr up t 7 minutes f dwntime n the failed SVR until the redundant SVR kicks in. Dual Recrding Resilience The VisinHub slutin can recrd the same channel n tw different SVRs. Dual recrding prvides tw majr benefits: Flexible, cst-effective cnfiguratin Each SVR can stre vide fr different perids f time. Mrever, the vide recrding quality can vary between the tw SVRs (fr example, different reslutin, different frame rates and even different recrding cnfiguratins, such as events nly r cntinuus). Zer-dwntime service Missin-critical installatins are supprted with a zer-dwntime recrding slutin (withut failver time). Page 6 f 11

9 System Resilience SVR Strage Redundancy When netwrk strage (SAN) is used, VisinHub ffers the SVR strage redundancy ptin. This feature enables: Seamless n user interventin, strage recnnectin t the SVR upn strage netwrk failure Uninterrupted vide write t the surviving vlumes This feature enables cntinuus writing f vide even with unstable strage netwrk r the ability t take dwn a strage system fr maintenance, withut any effects n the vide being recrded. Figure 4-1: VisinHub Cntrl Main Windw VisinHub s Cntrl main windw can easily be custmized t display elements based n the needs f the rganizatin. Althugh the main area f the applicatin s windw is usually the hmepage layut, it can be changed t a different, predefined page. A page can be pened by clicking the crrespnding tab that is available at the tp f the windw. Cllapsible panes and tables are available fr presenting and managing system entities, such as the list f cameras, sensrs, maps, turs and incidents. A page is actually a rich cntent cntainer that can hst cntent such as vide channels, maps, and sensr data, including Access Cntrl sensrs. System entities can be displayed by simply clicking them r dragging them n t the displayed page. Page 8 f 11

12 Client Applicatin and User Experience The Event search ptin (available at the tp f the windw) enables users t search fr and filter events, as well as view event details and assciated vide recrdings. A new incident can be created manually r as an autmatic respnse t any custm cnditin, including an alarm frm any sensr.
