1 DATA SHEETS Unpublished Datasheet: OneTouch AT 10G Network Assistant Performance Testing Ensure that newly installed or upgraded networks meet SLA objectives and are ready for new high-bandwidth applications by measuring end-to-end path performance. Measure throughput, frame loss, latency and jitter across wide and local area networks and within sites and datacenters. Test at rates up to 10 Gbps over copper or fiber optic links when the OneTouch AT 10G tester is paired with an OptiView XG Network Analysis Tablet. Test at rates up to 1 Gbps when the tester is paired with another OneTouch AT tester or a Enterprise network managers use the Wired Performance tests for: Assessing network performance prior to deployment of new services or network infrastructure Validating the performance of newly installed network infrastructure and critical network links within the LAN or data center Troubleshooting network and service performance problems Verifying independently that service providers are meeting agreed upon service levels (SLAs) and maintaining QoS end-to-end Service providers and system integrators use the Wired Performance tests for: Documenting network performance from layer 1 to 7 where the documentation serves as proof that the services they provided were delivered successfully Providing value-added service to their enterprise customers in the form of network assessments and troubleshooting Pre-deployment network assessment LinkRunner AT 2000 tester. Use the Wired Performance tests to measure network responsiveness given different rates, durations, frame sizes and service levels (DSCP). Measure frame loss, latency and jitter to understand the ability of a network to support new or additional traffic or services, like VoIP or video. Contrast the upstream and downstream performance of asymmetric links. Add Wired Performance tests to an AutoTest profile to establish a standardized assessment best practice to be used by everyone within the organization. 1 of 10

2 WAN, LAN and data center performance validation Use the Wired Performance tests to validate that newly installed network infrastructure is performing as designed. For example, in a data center verify that a new switch with 10G copper ports is properly configured and can communicate at rates up to 10Gbps with frame loss, latency and jitter within specified tolerances. In a LAN verify that critical 10G fiber optic links are meeting service acceptance criteria upstream and downstream. Validation minimizes the risk of future problems by identifying problems that can be fixed before the network goes live and end users are affected. A standardized, AutoTest-based validation process that is simple enough for anyone to run yields faster project completion. 2 of 10

3 SLA verification Given the borderless nature of most networks, with many applications residing in collocated data centers or supplied by SaaS vendors over the internet, the performance of WAN links is increasingly business critical. Enterprise managers can independently verify that service providers are meeting agreed upon service levels (SLAs) and maintaining QoS end-to-end. 3 of 10

4 Network and services troubleshooting Isolating the root cause of a connectivity problem or a slow application can be difficult without the right tools and processes. The result is lost end user productivity, long MTTR and open trouble tickets. Testing wired performance at operational rates (less than line rate) in conjunction with the other troubleshooting tools built into the OneTouch AT 10G tester streamlines problem identification and resolution. Standardized AutoTest profiles, featuring clear pass/fail indicators and an easy to understand user interface, make troubleshooting simple for everyone, even inexperienced technicians. Intermittent problems can be particularly challenging to troubleshoot since occurrence is generally unpredictable and transient. Run the AutoTest repeatedly over a long period of time to isolate and troubleshoot intermittent problems. The AutoTest can be set to run autonomously without any user interaction. Results are automatically uploaded to the cloud service and presented in color-coded graphs to make identifying intermitted problems simple. 4 of 10

5 Documentation Service providers and system integrators are often required to provide documentation to prove that the services they provided were delivered successfully. Enterprise technicians may be required to provide documentation to close a trouble ticket. The OneTouch AT 10G tester includes a report feature to thoroughly document network performance. The comprehensive PDF reports can be exported to a local drive or accessed remotely using the cloud service. 5 of 10

6 Instrumenting your network The Wired Performance tests measure network path performance end-to-end. A test instrument is required at each end of the link under test. The OneTouch AT 10G tester will be located at one end. There are options for the test instrument to be located at the other end of the link. 6 of 10

7 Good: LinkRunner AT 2000 Network Auto-Tester The LinkRunner AT 2000 Network tester is the most economical choice for wired performance testing up to 1 Gbps. This tester supports roundtrip performance measurement in accordance with the IETF RFC 2544 testing method. 7 of 10

8 Better: OneTouch AT Network Assistant and OneTouch AT 10G Network Assistant A second OneTouch AT 10G tester or a OneTouch AT 1G tester supports wired performance testing up to 1 Gbps. These testers support bidirectional upstream and downstream performance measurement of asymmetrical links. The testing method is IETF RFC of 10
