1 XFINITY Welcome Packet Welcome! Your building comes with a fast, reliable property-wide WiFi network as well as access to our popular XFINITY TV video streaming service for university students. In the following packet, you ll find helpful materials to get you started: Creating a username to access WiFi and TV Logging into the WiFi network to access XFINITY Internet Logging into XFINITY TV to stream television

2 First Time Creating a Credential 1. Connect to the 2526Durant WiFi network and enter your address. 2. Once you enter your address, please press the Signup for an Account button.

4 XFINITY Video Streaming All residents at 2526 Durant will also have trial access to our XFINITY TV streaming video service (through the XFINITY On Campus program for university students). This service is offered at no additional charge as part of your rent. Included with XFINITY TV is 20 hours of personal digital video recording (DVR) storage. Individual tenants can also choose to purchase premium subscriptions such as HBO, Starz, and more! You can access XFINITY TV on your laptop and mobile devices (i.e., ios, Android). Please note for viewing on a television set, you will need to use a traditional cable box from Comcast. Let s get started! After a few moments, you will be redirected to the XFINITY On Campus home page. Click Watch Now at the top right or Start Watching in the splash. 7 Accessing Video on a Mobile Device Download the XFINITY TV app on the Apple or Android stores to get started! 1. Click the Sign in as a Student link at the bottom of the login page and select Southgate Apartments from the list. 2. Then name your device and click the continue button. You ll see a screen display spinner during device provisioning and entitlement checks. 3. The first time you register a new device, you ll be asked to accept the terms of activation. Tapping blue text reveals terms of activation. Press Yes to proceed.

The best way to contact us when you are having trouble streaming video is to submit a ticket in the Support tab on If you would prefer to speak with someone over the phone, please call You ll need to have your username on hand. Q: How can I watch video on a traditional television set? To watch video content on a traditional television, you will need to use a set top box from Comcast (included in your rent with no additional charge). Please call for more information. Q: Can I stream XFINITY TV when I m not at home? To get the most out of XFINITY TV, you will want to be at home on the Durant2526 WiFi network. That said, you can access a limited set of content even when you re out of the building and even download DVR recordings to watch on the go. Q: How long do I have access to XFINITY TV? Your building is part of a trial, and your access to XFINITY TV (through the XFINITY On Campus program) continues as long as you are a tenant in good standing at your apartment building. Please note, you will need to sign into the Durant2526 WiFi network every 30 days in order to keep your account active with XFINITY TV. How to Connect Enable WiFi on your wireless device with a web browser Select 2526Durant in your list of available networks, then launch your browser Enter your address (please use the same provided to your leasing office) Follow the on-screen instructions to set up your account for accessing XFINITY services. After you have signed in once with your device, you will automatically connect to the network in following sessions. How to set up devices like gaming systems and tablets: If your device has a web browser: Follow the steps above, log in to your existing account and the new device will automatically be added. If your device doesn t have a web browser: Log in to xfinityng.com and add the MAC address of the device to your account. If you aren t sure where the MAC address is located, please contact the Comcast Support Team at or support@xfinity.elauwit.com.

10 Troubleshooting Having issues connecting? 11 Surf on a more secure network! Connecting to the 802.1x WiFi Network When viewing the WiFi networks in your area, you may see: 2526Durant (802.1x) Though all of the resident networks provided by us are secure, 802.1x offers another layer of security and enables Personal Area Networking for Chromecast, Apple TV and other services that require a private network. However, in order to connect to it, you need to have an account. If you ve already registered for an account with the device you re using to connect to 802.1x, then you re good to go. If you haven t, connect to the regular wireless network first and follow the normal registration process before attempting to connect to the 802.1x network. Also, please be sure that you have already added your other devices to your account. If your device was just added to your account, be patient as you attempt to connect to the 802.1x network. The network may need some time to validate your login information in order to grant access to this device. No need for concern. Please be aware that not all devices have the compatibility to connect to 802.1x due to the level of encryption on the network. If you already have an account or have just created one, make sure to note your username and password as you ll need them to authenticate yourself on the 802.1x network. View instructions below to connect to the network on various Operating Systems. Android The following directions are for Android 4.1.X and higher Go to Settings on your device. Then select WiFi. You ll see a list of available networks. The regular wireless network is: 2526Durant The 802.1x wireless network will appear as: 2526Durant (802.1x). Choose this one. After selecting the 802.1x network, you ll be prompted to change/add the following fields: Identity: Enter your username you used to register on our network Password: Enter the associated password Select Connect to authenticate ios - ipad, iphone, ipod Touch Go to Settings on your ios device. Then select WiFi. You ll see a list of available networks. The regular wireless network is: 2526Durant The 802.1x wireless network will appear as: 2526Durant (802.1x). Choose this one. After selecting the 802.1x network, you ll be prompted to enter your username/password to authenticate. Enter the username and password you ve used to register on our network. Then select Join. If this is the first time you ve connected to the 802.1x network, you ll need to accept the certificate for this secure connection. Select Accept. Congratulations! You re now connected to the 802.1x network!

12 Mac OS X The following directions are for Android 4.1.X and higher Locate and click on your WiFi icon in the top menu bar. Search for your property s wireless network; you ll see two networks. The regular wireless network is: 2526Durant The 802.1x wireless network will appear as: 2526Durant (802.1x). Choose this one. After selecting the 802.1x network, you ll be prompted to enter your username/password to authenticate. Enter the username and password you ve used to register on the network. Then select Join. If you wish to make this your regular network, select Remember this network. Then you won t need to enter your username/ password every time you connect to the 802.1x wireless network. Windows Vista, Locate your WiFi icon in the lower right corner of your desktop. Select the icon to see the list of available wireless networks. Search for your property s wireless network; you ll see two networks. The regular wireless network is: 2526Durant The 802.1x wireless network will appear as: 2526Durant (802.1x). Choose this one. After selecting the 802.1x network, you ll be prompted to enter your username/password to authenticate. Enter the username and password you ve used to register on the network. Then select OK. Congratulations! You re now connected to the 802.1x network! Note: If you get prompted with a warning asking you to Terminate or Connect, choose Connect If this is the first time you ve connected to the 802.1x network, you ll need to accept the certificate for this secure connection. Select Accept. Depending upon your computer settings, you may be prompted to enter your Mac s username and password. This adds the secure network to your Mac settings. Select Update Settings. Congratulations! You re now connected to the 802.1x network! Windows Locate your WiFi icon in the lower right corner of your desktop. Select the icon to see the list of available wireless networks.
