1 Quick and easy setup of the Industrial 4G Router type R700 Preparation - Disable the pin code of the sim card (in a mobile phone) - Keep the APN data with you. The APN data is required for setting up the router and is available via your sim card provider. - Put the sim card in the sim Card Slot - Check the supplied antennas for WiFi and NET1 are installed. When installed in a small cabinet 2 small Stubby antennas are supplied (or already installed). - Connect power to the Router: use the supplied 6 Volt power adaptor (via connector: red +, black -) Now the red LED will go ON. - Wait until the WiFi LED is ON and search for the WiFi network in your laptop with (default) network name (SSID): SIMCOM. After this network is found by the laptop or PC go to the next step. - Make contact with this (unsecured) wireless network with your laptop or PC - Enter in the browser (eg Chrome or Edge) the default ip nr (default factory setting) and enter username: admin and password: admin - Now the menu will appear (in english language): Operation mode: choose Gateway and press APPLY

2 WAN settings Choose Connection type 3G/4G NDIS and enter the APN data of the sim card and press APPLY Check the INT led is flashing and check internet conection with eg a laptop (DHCP enabled) (Sometimes a new power up of the Router is required). LAN settings Change ip nr into with range to 192, press APPLY and wait until this new LAN ip address of the router is enabled (also called gateway addess). (ip nr of ibox must fit inside this range eg ) Make contact (or keep) the wireless network (name SIMCOM) and type in your browser this new ip nr and enter again the username and password (both admin)

3 Wireless Settings: Basic Default Network Name (SSID) is SIMCOM, Recommended to keep this but you may edit this name and press APPLY. Then make new contact with this network name! Sometimes a new power up of the Router is required. Wireless Settings: Security Default no security: Recommended to keep this: easy to use temporary in the field, but you may edit this yourself. Press Apply

4 Now the router is ready for use. Disconnect the power supply and connect the power supply according to the label of the ibox system. The LAN port of the router must be connected to the ibox. Additional information for the R700 Router: - In the Administration menu one can use: Settings Management: - load default factory settings (eg for a complete new start or when something went wrong) - export settings for backup - import settings for quick entering of (exported) settings, eg for copy of settings to other R700 routers. Status: review the status of the Router - Port forwarding in the Firewall menu is only possible when the sim card has a static ip address. In that case the webserver of the ibox (in fullpower mode!) is remote via internet to access by typing the external ip nr in the remote computer. Forward to the ip nr of the connected ibox for http protocol. - LEDs The red LED is on when the power is connected. When LAN port is transmitting data the LAN LED is flashing When WiFI is active the WiFI LED is ON and flashing during data transfer When 3G or 4G connection is active and sending data the NET LED is flashing. Application Notes for the R700 4G Router with ibox (or ibox-2s) systems - Wait time The 4G Router can also be switched on only during data transfer by using the power switch in the ibox, especially for low power applications. When the Router is used with ibox in low power mode the Router will switch on during data transfer. The so called wait time for connection must be entered in the Ethernet settings, this is the time it will take to make contact with the 3G/4G network. Afterwards the ibox will send the data to the specified FTP server. Check the time for 4G Connection starting from power up until the NET LED is ON and check the internet connection is available with a laptop. The time for 4G connection is typical appr 60 sec for this Router, but add sec extra for security so enter for wait time appr 75 sec wait time in this case.. But this can depend on the network type (GPRS/3G/4G) at the site and the sim card provider! So check this also at the site before you leave the site with the Router and ibox! - Webserver of ibox Via the WiFI network the webserver of the ibox is available by typing the ip nr of the ibox in the browser eg (when the ibox is in full power mode, so NOT in low power mode!) An ibox in low power mode can temporary be set in full power mode by inserting a SD Card with full power enabled, see the manual: and the label of the supplied ibox In that way you can read and check settings and values. Use this feature with battery power systems only during short periods (minutes) or connect the system to a mains power supply. - Power supply For the R700 router the required power supply voltage is minimum 5 volt DC, typ 350 ma, peak 2A This means that this router can be powered by: - 6 volt mains power adaptor - 6 volt rechargeable battery - 6 volt solar power unit with 6V mah rechargeable battery (like our 6612 system) - 7 volt Lithium power pack (available up to mah) We observed that an upload of a small data file with R700 router and ibox in low power mode takes less then 12 mah. The battery life is also depending on the upload frequency, the size of data file and other current consuming processes of the ibox (like sampling and record interval).
