Gossary Inclusion Exclusion Association Disassociation/ Remove Z-Wave Network Primary Controller Secondary Controller Routing Slave Static Controller SIS Add a Z-Wave device to the network. Delete a Z-Wave device from the network. Assign the connection between the controlling device and the device being controlled. Example: a button on the controller vs a group of light. To take a device out of a group, scene or association group while that device still exists in the same Z-Wave network. A collection of Z-Wave devices controlled by primary and secondary controllers operating on the same system. A Z-Wave network has its own unique ID code so that controllers not in the network cannot control the system. The first controller used to set up your devices and network. Only the Primary Controller can be used to include or delete devices for Z-Wave network. It is recommended that you mark the primary controller for each network to facilitate future maintenance. A controller containing network information about other devices within the network and is used for controlling devices. Secondary controllers are created from the Primary Controller and cannot include or delete modules to the network. A Z-Wave device that can automatically transmit information/ commands to other Z-Wave enabled devices within the same network without being requested to do so. A Z-Wave controller at fixed location. It can always reach to all devices in Z-Wave network and can act as Primary or Secondary Controller. A Static Controller can be configured as Static Update Controller (SUC) or Static Update Controller ID Server (SIS). In a Z-Wave network, the SIS is the primary controller. If a SIS is present, all other controllers (such as HSK-100Zs) will become Inclusion Controller, which

can add or remove devices on the primary controller s behalf. If not, then only the primary controller can do so. Inclusion Controller Scene A controller containing network information about other devices within the network and is used for controlling devices. Inclusion controllers are created from the Primary Controller in a SIS enabled Z-Wave network. Inclusion Controller has the ability to add and remove devices from the network. A collection of Z-Wave devices configured to turn to a specific level, setting, mode, or perform an operation. Scenes are usually activated by a controller, timed event, or specific conditions.

Introduction The HSK-200Z/210Z is a Z-Wave IR (infrared) control station (Figure 1) with two major functions and usages: IR repeater for Z-Wave central controllers (e.g. HSC-200) or portable controllers (e.g. HSK-100Z) to control IR-based equipment (often AV equipment, such as TV, DVD player, etc.). It receives RF (radio frequency) commands and in turn sends IR signals through the built-in IR transmitters or the connected IR emitter cables; Scene controller for activating Z-Wave scenes that involve collective behavior of lighting, AV systems, power meters, projector screens, window shades, thermostats, etc. Figure1TheoutlookoftheHSK 200Z/210Z,includingStatusandPowerLEDs. Note: HomeScenario provides smart AV solutions applicable to meeting room or home theater usage. This includes integrated control for lighting, window shades, thermostats, as well as AV systems. This user manual describes how to install the HSK-200Z/210Z as well as implement its supported Z-Wave command classes. Its capability to be integrated with Z-Wave controller is explained in further detail below.

Feature List IR Repeater/Extender for a Universal Remote Control The HSK-200Z/210Z is specially designed for the HSK-100Z for the best user experience. However, it can also work with other controllers that support HSK-200Z/210Z protocol. Six Zones The HSK-200Z/210Z provides four lighting zones, one projector screen zone, and one window shades zone. Four Scenes The HSK-200Z/210Z provides four scenes that can be activated by the scene keys on the HSK-100Z or other Z-Wave compatible scene controllers. IR Blaster in Scenes The HSK-200Z/210Z acts as an IR blaster in all four scenes explicated above. Each scene can define two IR macros. Smart Power On/Off The HSK-200Z/210Z supports power meters, which can determine and ensure the on/off status of AV devices. Smart Projector Off The HSK-200Z/210Z can send the power key multiple times in order to turn off a projector that requires multiple clicks of IR remote s power button. Configurable Scenes All four scenes that the HSK-200Z/210Z provides can be configured from their default settings via the HSK-100Z or other Z-Wave controller.

Installation The HSK-200Z/210Z is a Z-Wave IR control station that can work with any Z-Wave controller or routing slave as long as it supports the association and configuration command classes. In the following section, we will use the HSK-100Z as an example. However, Z-wave controllers from other vendors are compatible as well. Please refer to their user manuals for more information. To begin the installation procedure, please power on the HSK-200Z/210Z by connecting the power jack to the power adapter included in the package. The power LED of the HSK-200Z/210Z will then turn on. Plug the HSK-10 IR emitter cable into either phone jack of the HSK-200Z/210Z. Refer to the figure below to correctly integrate the HSK-10 into the HSK-200Z/210Z. The Status LED will blink when the HSK-200Z/210Z sends IR keys successfully. 7 Using the HSK-200Z/210Z as an IR-RF Repeater The following instructions assume the HSK-100Z as Z-Wave primary controller. If you are using other controller, please refer to its user manual to learn how to connect it to the HSK-200Z/210Z. AV Equipment Selection by Entering Device Code You may setup the HSK-100Z by following the code entering instructions: 1. Referring to the DEVICE CODE LIST, look up the 4-digit Device Code which corresponds to the brand of your A/V equipment. If there is more than one Device Code listed under your brand, start from the first code. 2. Press the desired Device Mode Key (e.g. TV). 3. Hold down "CH +" and "VOL -" on the HSK-100Z simultaneously for 3 seconds until the green indicator lights up. 4. Use the number keys "0" - "9" to enter your 4-digit Device Code. The indicator flashes twice then goes out. Turn on your device (e.g. TV), then try the function keys on the HSK-100Z. If your device (e.g. TV) responds to your activated function correctly, you have entered the right Device Code. Otherwise, repeat the above steps with the next available Device Codes until your device (e.g. TV) responds to your activated function, and most keys work correctly. Notes: If the red LED flashes 6 times in step 4, this means a wrong Device Code has been entered. You are required to repeat step 2 to 4 again. Simply repeat the above procedures to enter the Device Codes for your SAT/CBL, DVD or AUX. (remember to press the correct Device Mode Key in step 2 above). If you cannot find a correct Device Code for your equipment, refer to AV Equipment Selection by Searching through the Library.
