It allows service providers, integrators, and premise owners to utilize one device to deliver data, video, and voice-overcoaxial in locations such as multiple dwelling units (MDUs), hospitality, and college campuses. The BT-CMTS-3000 is a edge Cable Modem Termination System that enables service providers to offer a costeffective, quality solution for new services such as IPTV, video-over-ip, gaming, as well as traditional broadband services. 3

19 BT-CMTS-3000 ACL Management Access Control List (ACL) is used mainly to identify the streams. To filter the data packets, the network device is required to configure a series of matching rules to identify the packets to be filtered After identifying specific packets, corresponding data packets will be allowed to pass, or not, according to the preset strategy ACL classifies the data packets through a series of matching conditions, which can be source address, destination address, and port number of data packets ACL includes displaying ACL, adding ACL, modifying ACL, deleting ACL, deleting rules, and binding/ unbinding 19

22 BT-CMTS-3000 Spectrum Groups and Automatic Frequency Hopping Frequency Hopping avoids ingress noise in the RF plant Frequency Hopping is configured and activated using spectrum groups Spectrum Management supports the creation of a number of cable spectrum groups, allowing multiple upstream ports in a single spectrum group Each Spectrum Group defines the table of frequencies to be used in a specific frequency plan The Spectrum Group takes precedence, so both a spectrum group and a fixed frequency on an upstream can be configured. Spectrum Group overrides the fixed upstream frequency setting 22

23 BT-CMTS-3000 Spectrum Groups and Automatic Frequency Hopping If the noise impairment is of substantial duration, it may cause the cable modem to temporarily lose communication with the CMTS. For security, the user can reserve multiple channels or upstream frequencies for their subscribers.
