2 Introduction There are two typical applications of the Ethernet network. First is Wireless Ethernet Bridges to interconnect E1 circuits. Interconnection of E1 based data communication systems over wireless as a primary or back up connection is a major application. E1 over Wireless Ethernet The second application is a transparent interconnection of Base Stations, Base Station Controllers and Mobile Switching Centers over IP Ethernet packet-switched networks. Cellular service providers save substantially by converting to a packet switch network. The Lossless Data compression option, which is especially well suited to Cellular communication links, minimizes the bandwidth required to interconnect. The following is the diagram. Ethernet Microwave Element and Technical Specification The Ethernet microwave element and technical specification is as follows: Mode of operation: Wireless Base Station for Point to Point (P2P) and could be extended to Point to Multiple Points (P2MP) for applications of last mile. The wireless connectivity is planned to be based on standards based technology. It is intended to extend same wireless infrastructure for connecting (Common Service centers) in the country as and when required. Unlicensed spectrum frequency: 5.8GHz, with 2.4GHz supported by software adjustable. Interfaces: 3 x 10/100 Mbps FE, 1 N-types connector Distance support: Should support an aerial coverage for minimum of 5 km, up to 20 km. Throughput: Can support capacity up to 8 E1: Up to 40Mbps (Up 5.5 Mbps, Down 17.5 Mbps at least). Optional bonding radios over 80Mbps in real throughput. Round Trip latency: under 30 ms including MW+MUX BER: up to 10E-9, standard is 0 with or without ARQ Automatic Transmit Power Control (ATPC)

5 Dynamic Frequency Selection (DFS) Maximum Rated Output Power: with additional reflector. +24 dbm at antenna port, up to 28dBm Non Line-of-Site (NLoS) WiMAX-like QoS data classification with MIR and CIR inbuilt, support priority/schedulers/shapers, e, WMM for QoS with audio/video priority. The equipment vender should provide VLAN feature. IPv6 ready 2.
