1 Introduction Dax G.SHDSL Router provides an SHDSL (Symmetric High-speed Digital Subscriber Line) network interface ranging from 64Kbps to 2.304Mbps payload rates. It is designed both to optimize the service bit rate from the Central Office to Customer Premises Equipments, and to integrate high-end bridging and routing capabilities. The Dax G.SHDSL Router allows customers to leverage the latest broadband technologies to meet their growing data communication needs beyond the limitations of ADSL and cable modem technologies. The Dax G.SHDSL Router s bandwidth is greater than T1 s 1.5Mbps. By using standard twisted phone wire as a connection medium, its installation and equipment cost is typically less than T1 or Frame Relay. The Dax G.SHDSL Router also integrates bridging and routing support for LANto-LAN connection. Two Dax G.SHDSL Router s can be connected together at a distance of up to 2032 Kbps rate using phone wire, eliminating the need for leased line modems and expensive V.35 routers. The exclusive application would be that two offices can be connected for inter-lan communication using just one telephone pair and two Dax G.SHDSL Router units. The Dax G.SHDSL supports advanced firewall, SPI, NAT, DoS protection in specific firewall models and serves as a powerful firewall to protect form outside intruders of secure connection. The router also supports IP Precedence with which network packet transverse IP Precedence devices priority and the priority traffic is always server before traditional traffic. Ethernet Distance Extension The Dax G.SHDSL Router is excellent for Ethernet distance extension over existing telephone wires. With just one pair of AWG-24 twisted pair copper wire, you can easily connect two Ethernet networks far away (maximum 6.7 kilometers) with a maximum 2.3Mbps full duplex transfer rate. For greater distance up to 12.8km speeds such as 64Kbps are supported with AWG-26 wire standard.
