5 HSE/OTN Packet Transport Options Ethernet PCS maps directly to ODU-3 and ODU-4 100GE directly mapped to ODU-4 (bit mapping of Ethernet) 40GE transcoded to ODU-3 (also bit mapping, but change to more efficient line coding to fit ODU-3 rate) 100GE Direct Mapped to GMP ODU4 OTU4 + GFEC 40GE Transcoded ODU3 OTU3 + GFEC ODU Flex is an intelligent way to provide bandwidth between nodes Flexible allocation of bandwidth, increments of 1.25Gbps. Provision links at required bandwidth, e.g.: 55Gbps Use GFP-F to map packets at layer 2 or layer 3 Allows oversubscription of transport layer bandwidth and greater efficiency. 5

Working/Protecting on the same port or different ports 3. Run BFD or Y.1731 on all working and protecting LSP/PWs at various intervals, including 3.33ms 4. Enable advance OAM features such as performance monitoring (LM, DM) and on-demand CV (LSP Ping and Traceroute) 5. End-to-end traffic with different rate and frame sizes 6. Validate maximum PW/LSP capacity
