2 ADMINISTRATION AND CONTROLLERS THE AUDIOARTS NETWORK SYSTEM is configured and administrated through Wheatstone s X-Point graphic user interface. The X-Point software permits easy access and set-up of source/destination crosspoints throughout your facility from one central point. All control is password protected with three levels of user access to safeguard the security of the system. ADMINISTRATIVE level allows complete access and control of all sources and destinations throughout your complex, including hardware configuration, signal naming, I/O (source/destination) crosspoint switching, and destination locking. The two lower level access modes are GUEST (allows the user to view crosspoint status but does not permit any switching changes) and XYC GUI, which allows the logged in user to select crosspoints only. Signal visibility for lower level access is set by the Administrator. X-Y CONTROLLER This onscreen software module emulates a rackmounted X-Y router controller (see right, first panel), selecting pulldown sources and destinations based on signals available at the AUDIOARTS NET central digital audio router. Signal visibility is programmed via password protected administrator level access. page 2

3 THE AUDIOARTS DIGITAL AUDIO NETWORK SYSTEM SYSTEM SETUP IS EASY: D-75N CONSOLES have all inputs and outputs for your studio built right in. Each console then simply plugs into the AUDIOARTS NET ROUTER located in your engineering room. IOC-16 AUDIO CENTERS provide input, output and logic cards for use with shared sources and destinations in your engineering room. Note the IOC could alternately be located right in the studio to provide even more I/O at the studio location. Simply plug the D-75N console into the IOC and the IOC into the NET router. 4 AUDIOARTS NET ROUTER THE NEW AUDIOARTS NET ROUTER is a high speed central switch that links multiple studios with your technical operations center. Each of its eight links can handle 64 secure bi-directional data paths with embedded control signals, allowing you to centralize shared audio resources and wiring in your TOC and seamlessly integrate eight separate D-75N digital audio consoles as a working network, with each console s studio location handling both networked signals as well as hardwired local sources. The NET ROUTER operates autonomously with no external PC required other than for initial setup and source naming. Once configured the PC can be disconnected and the system runs standalone. Installation is simple and quick (just eight CAT-5 cables interconnect eight studios), making expansion easy. The router is capable of 44.1 khz, 48 khz or external sync operation. INSTALLATION AND HOOKUP IS SIMPLE via the NET s rear panel. Up to eight CAT-5 interconnects are supported; each one connects a D-75N console (or its associated IOC-16 I/O center). An Ethernet link handles administrative tasks, and a CLOCK port allows synchronization to an external master clock. IOC-16 INPUT/OUTPUT CENTER THE AUDIOARTS IOC-16 AUDIO INPUT/OUTPUT CENTER acts as a networked intermediate link between a D-75N digital audio console and the central NET router. It may be located in your TOC center or in the local studio. The IOC-16 accepts local hardwired digital and /or analog input signals and outputs them in both analog and digital formats, where they can be shared with a connected D-75N console and/or NET router. Each unit can handle up to 16 two-channel inputs (32 signals) and 16 two-channel outputs (32 signals), has two logic cards with twelve bi-directional ports each, and an audio transport card with two CAT-5 jacks. The power supply is built-in. THE IOC-16 CHASSIS REAR accepts plug-in card modules for a clean and easy wiring installation. Each unit accepts four input and four output cards (analog or AES digital) and each card can handle four stereo signals. Two I/O modules are supplied for logic ports, and dual CAT-5 jacks handle network connections (i.e., between a D-75N console and a NET central router). A short-loaded version is available for smaller installations. page 4

5 The Audioarts D-75N: The standalone audio console that NETWORKS with others! The D-75N is an enhanced version of Audioarts established D-75 digital audio console that permits integration with the AUDIOARTS NET Digital Router, as well as the AUDIOARTS IOC-16 Digital Audio I/O Center. It allows the D-75 (normally a standalone audio console) to access a digital audio network system on six of its input faders (other inputs continue to operate independently) thus providing considerable networked flexibility to an individual studio (the best of both worlds ). Where standalone input channels have an A/B dual source select switch, networked inputs have eight character SOURCE displays, a SOURCE SELECT encoder knob and a TAKE button, which allow selection of any source made available to the D-75N console via its CAT-5 network connector cable. THE D-75N SMALL MAINFRAME (12 INPUTS) In addition, the six router channels (collectively called the NET-75 panel) allow two local stereo analog sources to be made available to the network system. Two additional connectors make two networked router sources available to the console s standalone input channels. At the same time the D-75N s four output busses (Program, Audition, Auxiliary and Utility) are made available to the main router system through the console s network CAT-5 link. If an optional phone module is present, caller input and feed mixes are also sent to the router system. THE HINGED METERBRIDGE swings up and open for unrestricted access to wiring connectors and programming dipswitches. A REAL POWER SUPPLY: Besides giving you obvious service benefits, the fanfree D-75N external supply keeps heat where it belongs in the equipment rack. LIKE THE D-75, THE D-75N IS ALSO AVAILABLE IN TWO MAINFRAME SIZES: SMALL (six hardwired plus six networked input channels) and LARGE (fourteen hardwired plus six networked input channels). Both versions can be outfitted with an optional two-caller phone module. Both mainframes come standard with two dual-mode LED VU meter pairs (PROGRAM and SWITCHED), both clock and timer and a built-in cue speaker. Optional line select modules and tape remote panels are also available. A FULLY LOADED D-75N LARGE FRAME can have up to twenty inputs: 14 standalone modules plus 6 networked channels with router selectable sources. When ordered with a STANDARD CONFIGURATION the frame includes 12 hardwired inputs plus 6 network faders, both CR and studio modules, output module, two LED meter pairs, digital clock and timer, headphone jack, and a built-in cue speaker (dual phone module is optional). page 5
