704i Software i Software These release notes explain the Enhancements and Software Corrections in 704i System Software version New Features in There are no New Features in this release. 2. Enhancements to Existing Features in Defaults: Default Values Changed for Program 0144 The default values for Program Traveler CCH Setting have changed. These changes will help prevent the system from blocking communication between the CS units and handsets due to a lack of data channels. Previous Defaults: Current Defaults: Item 1: Priority 1 = 2 Item 1: Priority 1 = 2 Item 2: Priority 2 = 4 Item 2: Priority 2 = 4 Item 3: Priority 3 = 6 Item 3: Priority 3 = 6 Item 4: Priority 4 = 0 Item 4: Priority 4 = 8 Item 5: Priority 5 = 0 Item 5: Priority 5 = 10 Item 6: Select = 1 Item 6: Select = ISDN, BRI: Option Added for DID with Non-Matching SPID Two new options have been added to the system for DID callers when the BRI feature is used. Previously, if the called party number did not match the SPID number, the system would not allow the call to go through. Program ISDN PCB Setup, Item 8: TEI Selection determines whether or not the system will check the called party number with the SETUP message and Program ISDN BRI SPID Setup. The options for Program ISDN PCB Setup, Item 8: TEI Selection are: 0 = Select by SPID number [Default] 1 = Select by Channel ID number If this option is set to '0', the system will check the called party number with the SETUP message and Program If this option is set to '1', the system will ignore the called party number. The options for Program ISDN PCB Setup, Item 9: DID mode 0 = Route by Called Party Number 1 = Route by Redirecting Number 704i Release Notes 1

704i Software The system will check the DID table (Program 1806) when a DID call is received. If this option is set to '0', the system uses CALLED PARTY NUMBER IE' on the SETUP message. If this option is set to '1', the system uses 'REDIRECTING NUMBER IE' on the SETUP message. Reference EIR: MG System: Additional Changes Made to Increase System Speed Some internal changes have been made to help increase the system operating speed. Although none of the changes made affect feature operation, the lamping for internal and combined paging has been changed. Previously, when All Call was used with an internal or combined page, all Page keys on a Page Groups s DSS console would light, regardless of whether or not any extension in the group was defined for the page zone. Now, when All Call is used with an internal or combined page, only those page zones which have at least one phone assigned to it (Program Internal Paging Groups) will light on a Page Group s DSS console. 2.4 Traveler: New Service Code Provides CS Information A new service code has been added to Program Service Code Setup (Part B). Service Code 73 - Traveler Location Check (default entry: 898) allows a user to check which CS unit is seen by a specific Traveler telephone. Operation: 1. Dial 898 (default entry) from a keyset. 2. Dial the Traveler extension number for which you wish to know the status. 3. You will see one of the following messages: NOW USING CS xx: Using CS xx NOW SEEING CS xx: Seeing CS xx (the phone is idle) NO INFORMATION: Out of zone or not a valid number 4. Dial another Traveler extension number if wish to continue. Note: This service code addition is not yet available in the Windows PC Program software. If an Upload or Download is done using the Windows PC Program, it will erase the default entry for Service Code Software Corrections in indepth: Agent Shows Free When on a Call Previously with indepth, if there was a call in queue and an indepth agent disconnected from a call at the same time overflow occurred, the system would send a P7 command for the agent that just disconnected. This would result in the indepth program displaying the agent as free when they are actually on a call. This will no longer occur with this software version i Release Notes

704i Software Reference EIR: EIR-MG Networking: Call Forward Both Ring Results in One-Way Talkpath In a networked system, the following could previously occur: 1. In Site B, extension 702 is set to Call Forward to extension 703 with the 'Both Ring' option. 2. The voice mail in Site A transfers a call to extension 702 in Site B. Both extension 702 and 703 ring. 3. Extension 703 answers the call. 4. Another call is transferred by the voice mail in Site A to extension 702 in Site B. Both extension 702 and 703 ring. 5. Extension 702 answers the call. Extension 703 continues to ring. 6. Extension 703 disconnects from the original call, then answers the second ringing call. 7. The outside caller who was talking to extension 702 is now connected to extension 703. Extension 702 is still connected to the call, but can only hear the conversation - the extension has no talkpath to the call and can not be heard. This will no longer occur with this version. Reference EIR: EIR-MG T1/PRI and BRI: Units Reset While Active With Call After Program Changes With previous system software, when the following programs were changed, the system would reset the BRI/PRI/T1 unit(s), even if there was an active call. Programs ISDN Layer 1 Operation Mode Setup ISDN Layer 1 Timer Setup ISDN Layer 2 Operation Mode Setup ISDN Layer 2 Timer Setup ISDN Layer 3 Operation Mode Setup ISDN Layer 3 Timer Setup ITSU Operation Mode Setup T1 Trunk Timers ISDN Primary Interface Layer 2 Operating Mode Setup ISDN Primary Interface Layer 3 Operating Mode Setup BRI ISDN Line TEI Assignment Setting the ISDN Line Operating Mode Basic Trunk Port Setup (Part A) 704i Release Notes 3

704i Software DID/E&M Start Signaling T1 Setup T1 Clock Source With this version, the system will now wait until all affected trunks are idle before resetting the BRI/PRI/T1 units i Release Notes

704i Software i Software These release notes explain the Enhancements and Software Corrections in 704i System Software version New Features in There are no New Features in this release. 2. Enhancements to Existing Features in There are no Enhancements to Existing Features in this release. 3. Software Corrections in ISDN, PRI: PRI Channel Locks Up with Call Forward Off Premise When an incoming ISDN (PRI/BRI) call rang a telephone which had Call Forwarding Off Premise set to dial an outside line using an ISDN trunk, the outgoing channel would previously lock up. With this software, this will no longer occur. 3.2 ISDN, PRI: No DTMF Tone Allowed After Call Collision 704i Only When a call collision occurs on a PRI trunk, the DTMF tone previously could not be sent correctly on those trunks involved. However, the talk path on the trunks was fine. With this software, this will no longer occur. 3.3 Traveler: System Responds With Incorrect Message for Location Registration The Traveler telephone sends a Location Registration message to the telephone system which then acknowledges the message. This process confirms for both the Traveler phone and telephone system that each is active. With previous system software, when the Traveler telephone sent a Location Registration message, the system responded with an incorrect message. On a system which had a lot of Traveler units installed, this would tie up the system, possibly causing it to slow down. With this software release, the correct message will now be sent from the telephone system to the Traveler phone. 704i Release Notes 5

704i Software i Release Notes

704i Software i Software These release notes explain the Enhancements and Software Corrections in 704i System Software version New Features in There are no New Features in this release. 2. Enhancements to Existing Features in Traveler: Default Value Changed for Program 0414; Timer 29 The default for Program System Timers (Part B); Timer 29 - PS Out-of- Area Timer has been changed from 8 to 10 seconds. This change allows for better operation for the Traveler user. This change is not yet supported in the current version of the Windows PC Program (704i version ). 3. Software Corrections in Account Code: Inter-digit Timer Determines Time Before Account Code Requested When using Account Codes with ARS enabled, the inter-digit timer (Timer 11) in Program System Timers (Part B) determined the time between account code digits, but it also incorrectly determined the time before the system asked for the account code. This should be requested as soon as the dialed number scrolls across the display. With this software release, this will now operate correctly. Reference EIR: EIR-MG DID: DTMF Digits Missing Intermittently With previous software, the system would not always wait for the DTMF receiver ready signal from the CDTU/DTDU PCB. It would simply send a request to seize a DTMF receiver and then send back a wink signal to the telco. This will no longer occur this software version. Reference EIR: EIR-MG DIMU: System Reset by Irregular DIM Output or Enormous System Load In very rare cases with the previous system software, a system reset could occur if the DIMU had irregular output in the source code or if there was an enormous load on the system. With this software, this will no longer occur. 704i Release Notes 7

704i Software indepth: Agent Shows Free When in Use With previous software, there was a P Command problem which showed agents as free when they were actually on a call. The system would then send a P7 for a "trunk end of call". For example: 1. If all ACD agents are busy and the system receives an incoming ACD call, the caller would listen to the second delay announcement from the voice mail. 2. When the announcement was finished, the caller would hear MOH. 3. An agent calls into the voice mail. 4. When an ACD agent then became free and answered an incoming call, the system would show this agent as free when they were actually on a call. This will no longer occur this software version. Reference EIR: EIR-MG ISDN, BRI: Column Position Incorrect for BRI PCBs When using Program System Report Port Setup in previous system software, the column positioning for the "Condition" column was shifted to the left one space too far for all the BRI PCBs. With this software release, this column will now align correctly with the other PCBs listed i Release Notes

704i Software i Software These release notes explain the Enhancements and Software Corrections in 704i System Software version New Features in There are no New Features in this release. 2. Enhancements to Existing Features in There are no Enhancements to Existing Features in this release. 3. Software Corrections in DID: Department Group Calls Do Not Ring or Camp On Previously, with the system programmed for DID Department Groups, incoming calls could have experienced problems. For example, with extensions in Group 1 (Extension A) and Group 2 (Extension B) and the system programmed to route incoming DID calls to Department Group 2 and DID Camp-On is enabled, the following can occur: With an Analog Trunk 1. Extension A and Extension B are both busy. 2. An analog DID trunk call rings in to Group After the DID Ring-No Answer Timer (Program 0405, Timer 31) expires, Extension B becomes free. The incoming call never rings to Extension B. With an ISDN Trunk 1. Extension A and Extension B are both busy. 2. An ISDN DID trunk call rings in to Group 2. The incoming call never camps on to Extension B. Either of these problems could occur, regardless of whether the extension was a keyset, single line telephone, or virtual extension. Reference EIR: CS i Release Notes 9

704i Software ISDN: DID Call Causes Loop Key to Lock Up and Virtual Extensions Unable to Answer Call With previous software, if the system were programmed so each keyset had two loop keys and Extension B and Extension C both had virtual extension keys for Extension A, the following could occur with an incoming ISDN DID call. 1. Extension D is connected to the voice mail. 2. An incoming ISDN DID call rings to voice mail. 3. The user would hear a busy signal instead of being queued. 4. The ISDN caller hangs up. 5. An incoming ISDN DID calls rings Extension A, but before the call is answered, the voice mail becomes idle. 6. The incoming call to Extension A now rings voice mail instead, but Extension A continues to ring as well. 7. The voice mail answers the call, but Extension A continues to ring. 8. Neither Extension B nor Extension C, using their virtual key for Extension A, can pick up the call ringing Extension A. 9. If Extension B or Extension C tries again to pick up the call using the virutal extension key, the loop key locks up i Release Notes

704i Software i Software These release notes explain the Enhancements and Software Corrections in 704i System Software version New Features in There are no New Features in this release. 2. Enhancements to Existing Features in There are no Enhancements to Existing Features in this release. 3. Software Corrections in Call Forwarding, Off-Premise: When Using on Port 1 Forwards Other Extensions Too Previously, if the extension user on port 1 had Off-Premise Call Forwarding enabled, after the system experienced a warm reset, Call Forwarding for other extensions would not function correctly. Any call received by a single line telephone or voice mail port which had Call Forwarding enabled would hear an announcement from the VAU that their call is being forwarded, but it never actually rang to the forwarded extension. For example: 1. Extension A (port 1) has Off-Premise Call Forwarding programmed to call Extension D is a single line telephone 3. Extension C has Call Forwarding programmed to ring Extension D. 4. A warm reset is performed on the telephone system. 5. An incoming call to Extension C hears the VAU announcing that the caller should please hold on - their call will be forwarded. The call, however, is never forwarded. With this software release, each extension s Call Forwarding programming will now be followed. Reference EIR: MG i Release Notes 11

704i Software DID: Incoming Call to Voice Mail Can Lock Up Trunk and Voice Mail Port Remains Busy With previous system software, if the following occurred, the system would lock up a trunk and the voice mail port would remain busy. 1. An incoming DID call rings to the voice mail from Trunk The voice mail answers the call. 3. The voice mail places the call on hold and calls Extension B. 4. Extension B does not answer. 5. The voice mail retrieves the held call. 6. The voice mail places the call on hold again. 7. At the same time, the voice mail is placing the call on hold again, the outsider caller hangs up. 8. The voice mail makes an outgoing call using Trunk Extension A makes an outgoing call using Trunk The voice mail hangs up. 11. Extension A hangs up. Trunk 2 locks up and the voice mail port remains busy. This will no longer occur with this software release. 3.3 Traveler: Setup Message Receives Incorrect Reference Number from Cell Site With previous system software, the Traveler s cell site unit could send a Call Proceeding message with an incorrect call reference number. This could occur when a Setup message was received when calling the Traveler telephone. This is caused by the cell site unit, and for compatibility reasons, it can not be changed. Because of this, the system software has been modified to retry the message when it receives this type of incorrect reference number i Release Notes
