1 SINGLEstream Link Aggregation Tap (SS-00) Optional 3-Unit Rack Mount Datacom Systems SINGLEstream 0/00 Link Aggregation Tap provides a superior solution for 4x7 monitoring of full-duplex Ethernet links. While traditional 0/00 taps might enable full-duplex monitoring of all traffic on a network link, they transmit the data to the monitoring device (e.g. analyzer, IDS, probe) in two separate half-duplex streams. Not only does this require the monitoring device to have two network interface cards (NIC), it also requires that the device be capable of combining and processing both streams of data in order to monitor both sides of the conversation. Not all monitoring devices have that capability. The SINGLEstream Link Aggregation Tap faultlessly combines the two data streams, allowing any connected monitoring device to receive a full-duplex stream of data with one NIC. Connect any compatible device (protocol analyzers, probes, intrusion detection system, more) for permanent In-Line monitoring of full-duplex links - eliminates the need for network connectors to be disconnected and connected each time a segment needs to be monitored Two monitor ports allow two devices to simultaneously monitor the same link, providing extended security and analysis options, while eliminating contention for network access Redundant power supply insures seamless monitoring even if the main power source is unavailable Never lose packets from power failure - industry-leading no break the link design guarantees network traffic will continue to flow uninterrupted* Simple plug-and-play solution - requires no additional configuration of external monitoring devices Supports Power over Ethernet (PoE) Optional TCP Resets Available * SS-00 and SS-0 Models Ports T e c h n i c a l S p e c i f i c at i o n s One () 0/00 (RJ45) Network Connection Two () 0/00 (RJ45) Tap/Monitoring Connections Power Requirements Two () (External AC Adapters Included) Input: VAC, Hz, 0.4A - 0.A Output: 5 VDC, A Physical Dimensions (H x W x D).07 x 5 x 5 in.7 x.7 x.7 cm Weight oz..34 kgs. 2 You Can t Monitor What You Can t See SINGLEstream Dual Link Aggregation Tap (SX) with 6 - SFP Monitoring Ports SS-0SX-SFP Full-Duplex Visibility for Two () In-Line Network Links even with Single Interface Monitoring Solutions Aggregation Monitoring full duplex network traffic from multiple sources is often a critical requirement for network monitoring applications. For example, in order to properly monitor redundant networks or a pair of load balanced links, network professionals might need to receive traffic simultaneously from two different network segments. In some cases, two network links may be bound together and operate as one logical network in order to improve bandwidth. In such an implementation, packets are distributed across two different physical links. Often, traffic transmits on one segment and receives on another. This makes network analysis and monitoring especially challenging. If an analyzer or monitoring device is put on only one physical link, it will not see the entire conversation Also, while traditional taps might enable fullduplex monitoring of all traffic on a network link, they transmit the data to the connected monitoring device in two separate half-duplex streams (one for Tx and one for Rx). Not only does this require the monitoring device to have two network interface cards, it also requires that the device be capable of combining and processing both streams of data in order to monitor both sides of the conversation. Not all monitoring systems have the required hardware to aggregate traffic. The SINGLEstream Dual Link Aggregation Tap has two () network taps. Each tap combines both directions of a full duplex data stream and allows connected monitoring devices, even those with only one NIC, to receive a copy of all the data collected from both taps in a single trace file. Totally Passive and Power Fault Tolerant Fiber taps are completely passive devices and are not a point of failure on the network. Even if power is lost to the tap, the network traffic will not be affected. If one side of the link fails for any reason, the device on the other side of the link will recognize this outage immediately, so routers and switches can engage redundant protocols and failover systems. Because both sides of the link are always open, the network will automatically re-establish the primary link as soon as both sides of the network and the endpoint devices become operational. Regeneration One-to-Many configurations replicate copies of identical network traffic to provide multiple tools monitoring access to the same links. In addition to eliminating contention for access to critical links, multiple tools can be connected to the same link for redundancy, testing, or advanced monitoring applications. Any of the SS-0SX-SFP s six (6) any-to-any ports can be configured as input (network) or output (monitoring) ports on the fly through easy to use command line interface (CLI). Any monitoring port can receive traffic from any of the other ports, eliminating the need for network managers to change complex network configurations or move tools around their network. Additionally, the any-to-any ports can be configured to receive data from a switch s SPAN port providing the flexibility of a combined in-line and out-of-band monitoring solution. Benefits View entire full-duplex conversations even across redundant or load balanced links using single-interface monitoring tools Save money by reducing number of required tools or tool interfaces necessary to monitor all your data Decreased reliance on switch resources for network management visibility - eliminate SPAN port contention, oversubscription, and configuration errors After installation, deploy tools right away without impacting your production network Single point of deployment and remote management minimizes management expenses and reduces MTTR Automatic coverage of redundant network - One tool can monitor two networks Features Aggregation - Receive copies of multiple network links or channels into one stream for visibility into complete network conversations 00% Network Uptime - Multi-mode fiber tap is completely passive and won t disrupt the network even if power is lost to the tap Regeneration - Send copies of traffic from the tap to multiple connected tools to share data sources Monitoring Port Speeds from 0 to 000MB; full duplex, half duplex, or auto-negotiate SFP Flexibility - monitor fiber links with copper tools Flexible traffic flow to monitoring tools - single-direction or bidirectional for traffic injection Dual Redundant Power ensures monitoring uptime

8 You Can t Monitor What You Can t See SINGLEstream Quad Link Aggregation Tap (BT) with - SFP Monitoring Ports SS-40BT-SFP Achieve Full-Duplex Visibility across Four (4) In-Line Network Links even with Single Interface Monitoring Solutions Aggregation Monitoring full duplex network traffic and traffic from multiple sources is often a critical requirement for network monitoring applications. For example, in order to properly monitor channelized links (e.g. Gigabit EtherChannel), network professionals need to receive traffic simultaneously from multi-trunked full duplex channels. Because traffic in a Gigabit EtherChannel implementation is load balanced, packets are distributed across several different physical links. Not all monitoring systems, including the most popular software solutions, have the required hardware to aggregate traffic. The SINGLEstream Quad Link Aggregation Tap contains four (4) network taps. Each tap combines both directions of a full duplex data stream and allows any connected monitoring device, including those with only one NIC, to receive a copy of all the data collected from all four taps - even in a single trace file. protect Many traditional taps prevent the operation of redundant routing and failover systems because they keep both sides of the network invisible to the other. The built-in protect feature eliminates this point of network failure by continuously monitoring both sides of the tapped network for link status. If one side of the tap loses link status, protect will close the other side of the link, so routers and switches can engage protocols to bypass the failed link. protect will also keep monitoring both sides of the link until repaired, where it can then automatically re-establish the primary link. Timers (polling and recovery) and link reestablishment settings (manual or auto) are all user-configurable on both sides of the link and provide a level of convenience and flexibility not previously available in copper Gigabit taps. Regeneration One-to-Many configurations replicate copies of identical network traffic to provide multiple tools monitoring access to the same links. In addition to eliminating contention for access to critical links, multiple tools can be connected to the same link for redundancy, testing, or advanced monitoring applications. Reliable and Easy to Use Unlike setting up operating systems and binding NICs, the SINGLEstream Quad Link Aggregation Tap is simple to deploy, and every unit comes with dual redundant power supplies to ensure monitoring uptime. 8 Benefits View entire full-duplex conversations even across meshed, channelized, or load balanced links using single-interface monitoring tools Save money by reducing number of required tools or tool interfaces necessary to monitor all your data Decreased reliance on switch resources for network management visibility - eliminate SPAN port contention, oversubscription, and configuration errors After installation, deploy tools right away without impacting your production network Single point of deployment and remote management minimizes management expenses and reduces MTTR Features Aggregation - Receive copies of multiple network links or channels into one stream for visibility into complete network conversations protect - Ensure automatic failover and recovery of redundant paths and routing protocols Regeneration - Send copies of traffic from the tap to multiple connected tools to share data sources Port Speeds from 0 to 000MB; supports full duplex, half duplex, or auto-negotiate Stays invisible to the network for enhanced security SFP Flexibility - monitor copper links with fiber tools Flexible traffic flow to monitoring tools - single-direction or bidirectional for traffic injection Dual Redundant Power ensures monitoring uptime

Connected 0 Gigabit monitoring devices can receive aggregated data from multiple network segments with just one network interface card (NIC) each. Any of the configurable 0 Gigabit Ports can also be set to receive data from SPAN ports. REGENERATION With a total of four (4) configurable ports the SS-4LX-0Gb can be configured to have multiple monitoring ports to allow connected devices to receive multiple copies of the same data stream. Allowing multiple monitoring and analysis devices to collect data from the same network segments at the same time eliminates contention for SPAN ports. 16 You Can t Monitor What You Can t See SINGLEstream 0 Gigabit Link Aggregation Tap with 4 - XFP Monitoring Ports SS-06-0G Models Multiple Tool Access and Full-Duplex Visibility at 0G for Single Interface Monitoring Solutions 0 Gigabit Full Duplex Aggregation While traditional taps might enable full-duplex monitoring of all traffic on a network link, they transmit the data to the connected monitoring device in two separate half-duplex streams (one for Tx and one for Rx). Not only does this require the monitoring device to have two network interface cards, it also requires that the device be capable of combining and processing both streams of data in order to monitor both sides of the conversation. Not all monitoring systems, including the most popular software solutions, have the required hardware to aggregate traffic. The SINGLEstream 0 Gigabit Link Aggregation Tap combines both directions of a 0 Gigabit full duplex data stream and allows any connected monitoring device, including those with only one NIC, to receive a copy of all the data - even in a single trace file. Data Filtering Instead of tools attempting to keep up with high-speed aggregated traffic streams, the SS-06-0G-F (with data filtering) model provides the option of applying filters to the data to increase tool efficiency and eliminate port oversubscription. Line-rate hardware filtering on each port allows you to customize and streamline the amount and type of data each connected monitoring tool receives. Because they are receiving only traffic of interest, tools run faster, data is easier to work with, and issues are resolved quicker. Filters include IP and MAC ranges, VLAN, frame, port number, protocol type, even customizable offsets in the packet header. Dual Stream Mode For dual-receive capable tools or times when there is no substitute for full line rate data capture (e.g. network attacks), the SINGLEstream can be configured to work exactly like a traditional full duplex tap, providing a copy of full-rate Gigabit data to connected tools in two separate streams (Tx and Rx). Any of the SS-06-0G s four (4) any-to-any ports can be configured as input (network) or output (monitoring) ports on the fly through easy to use command line interface (CLI). Benefits 00% Network Uptime - fiber tap is completely passive and won t disrupt the network even if power is lost to the tap View entire 0G full-duplex conversations using single-interface monitoring tools Decreased reliance on switch resources for network management visibility - eliminate SPAN port contention, oversubscription, and configuration errors After installation, deploy tools right away without impacting your production network Easily share test access points without maintenance windows or approval Single point of deployment and remote management minimizes management expenses and reduces MTTR Features Aggregation - Combine multiple network links or channels into one stream for visibility into complete network conversations Regeneration - Send copies of traffic from the tap to multiple connected tools to share data sources - port steer traffic to different tools or turn monitoring ports into additional network ports to receive input from SPAN Filtering - Line-rate hardware-based filtering can eliminate port oversubscription and customize data flow to each tool (-F Model) Monitoring Ports can be set for full duplex, half duplex, or auto-negotiate Stays invisible to the network for enhanced security Dual Redundant Power Supplies are hot swappable and load balanced to ensure monitoring uptime 6

Not all monitoring systems, including the most popular software solutions, have the required hardware to aggregate traffic. The SINGLEstream Link Aggregation Tap combines both directions of a full duplex data stream and allows any connected monitoring device, including those with only one NIC, to receive a copy of all the data - even in a single trace file. Any of the SS-0SX-BT s eight (8) any-to-any ports can be configured as input (network) or output (monitoring) ports on the fly through easy to use command line interface (CLI). 6 Benefits View entire full-duplex conversations using single-interface monitoring tools Decreased reliance on switch resources for network management visibility - eliminate SPAN port contention, oversubscription, and configuration errors After installation, deploy tools right away without impacting your production network Easily share test access points without maintenance windows or approval Single point of deployment and remote management minimizes management expenses and reduces MTTR Keep your monitoring tool plugged in while troubleshooting the same link Features Aggregation - Combine multiple network links or channels into one stream for visibility into complete network conversations Regeneration - Send copies of traffic from the tap to multiple connected tools to share data sources - port steer traffic to different tools or turn monitoring ports into additional network ports to receive input from SPAN 00% Network Uptime - Multi-mode fiber tap is completely passive and won t disrupt the network even if power is lost to the tap Monitoring Port Speeds from 0 to 000MB, full duplex, half duplex, or auto-negotiate Stays invisible to the network for enhanced security Flexible traffic flow to monitoring tools - single-direction or bidirectional for traffic injection Dual Redundant Power ensures monitoring uptime

40 You Can t Monitor What You Can t See SINGLEstream Link Aggregation Tap (BT) with 8 Monitoring Ports (6-BT and -SFP) SS-0BT-BT/SFP Full-Duplex Visibility for Single Interface Monitoring Solutions Full Duplex Aggregation While traditional taps might enable full-duplex monitoring of all traffic on a network link, they transmit the data to the connected monitoring device in two separate half-duplex streams (one for Tx and one for Rx). Not only does this require the monitoring device to have two network interface cards, it also requires that the device be capable of combining and processing both streams of data in order to monitor both sides of the conversation. Not all monitoring systems, including the most popular software solutions, have the required hardware to aggregate traffic. The SINGLEstream Link Aggregation Tap combines both directions of a full duplex data stream and allows any connected monitoring device, including those with only one NIC, to receive a copy of all the data - even in a single trace file. Dual Stream Mode For dual-receive capable tools and times when there is no substitute for full line rate data capture (e.g. network attacks), the SINGLEstream can be configured to work exactly like a traditional full duplex tap, providing a copy of full-rate Gigabit data to connected tools in two separate streams (Tx and Rx). protect Many traditional taps prevent the operation of redundant routing and failover systems because they keep both sides of the network invisible to the other. The built-in protect feature eliminates this point of network failure by continuously monitoring both sides of the tapped network for link status. If one side of the link fails for any reason, protect will close the other side of the link immediately, so routers and switches can engage redundant protocols and failover systems. protect will also keep monitoring both sides of the link until they become available again, where it can then automatically re-establish the primary link. Timers (polling and recovery) and link re-establishment settings (manual or auto) are all user-configurable on both sides of the link and provide a level of convenience and flexibility not previously available in copper Gigabit taps. Regeneration One-to-Many configurations replicate copies of identical network traffic to provide multiple tools monitoring access to the same links. In addition to eliminating contention for access to critical links, multiple tools can be connected to the same link for redundancy, testing, or advanced monitoring applications. Any of the SS-0BT-BT/SFP s eight (8) any-to-any ports can be configured as input (network) or output (monitoring) ports on the fly through easy to use command line interface (CLI). 40 Benefits View entire full-duplex conversations using single-interface monitoring tools Decreased reliance on switch resources for network management visibility - eliminate SPAN port contention, oversubscription, and configuration errors After installation, deploy tools right away without impacting your production network Easily share test access points without maintenance windows or approval Single point of deployment and remote management minimizes management expenses and reduces MTTR Keep your monitoring tool plugged in while troubleshooting the same link Features Aggregation - Combine multiple network links or channels into one stream for visibility into complete network conversations - port steer traffic to different tools or turn monitoring ports into additional network ports to receive input from SPAN Regeneration - Send copies of traffic from the tap to multiple connected tools to share data sources protect - ensure automatic failover and recovery of redundant paths and routing protocols Port Speeds from 0 to 000MB, full duplex, half duplex, or auto-negotiate SFP Flexibility - monitor copper links with fiber tools Flexible traffic flow to monitoring tools - single-direction or bidirectional for traffic injection Dual Redundant Power ensures monitoring uptime

51 You Can t Monitor What You Can t See SINGLEstream Dual Link Aggregation Tap (LX) with 6 - SFP Monitoring Ports SS-0LX-SFP Full-Duplex Visibility for Two () In-Line Network Links even with Single Interface Monitoring Solutions Aggregation Monitoring full duplex network traffic from multiple sources is often a critical requirement for network monitoring applications. Any of the SS-0LX-SFP s six (6) any-to-any ports can be configured as input (network) or output (monitoring) ports on the fly through easy to use command line interface (CLI). 5 Benefits View entire full-duplex conversations even across redundant or load balanced links using single-interface monitoring tools Save money by reducing number of required tools or tool interfaces necessary to monitor all your data Decreased reliance on switch resources for network management visibility - eliminate SPAN port contention, oversubscription, and configuration errors After installation, deploy tools right away without impacting your production network Single point of deployment and remote management minimizes management expenses and reduces MTTR Automatic coverage of redundant network - One tool can monitor two networks Features Aggregation - Receive copies of multiple network links or channels into one stream for visibility into complete network conversations 00% Network Uptime - Single mode fiber tap is completely passive and won t disrupt the network even if power is lost to the tap Regeneration - Send copies of traffic from the tap to multiple connected tools to share data sources Monitoring Port Speeds from 0 to 000MB; full duplex, half duplex, or auto-negotiate SFP Flexibility - monitor fiber links with copper tools Flexible traffic flow to monitoring tools - single-direction or bidirectional for traffic injection Dual Redundant Power ensures monitoring uptime
