2 VERSATILITY AND SIMPLICITY IN VEHICLES ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS Pran Systems Advantages When Pran s Multiplexed system is linked to the engine ECM, it allows engine interaction like fast Idle control without adding any other device to perform this task. Our system can also integrate other features as a Smart Anti-Idling (ECO Mode) which can be fully adjusted according to your needs. This smart feature is also able to detect the difference when the vehicle is in standby or in duty. So the running cycle can be set when it s needed which can t be done with standard Anti-Idling systems. ECM J1939 CAN BUS Every single Power Plex controller is made with smart solid-state output devices which are self protected against short circuit and overload. It has the ability to monitor the current of each output. This means that the current is monitored for the whole system but it also enables in the meantime, for example load detection, a defective light or simply a misconnection. Because all the smart outputs are self protected, there is no need to add extra protection on each circuit. Only a circuit breaker is needed to protect the power line of each power controller unit as illustrated. We know that each vehicle can have several different options, our solutions are really flexible and versatile. Many parameters are customizable in a quick and easy way, allowing to change some feature s behavior such as the emergency lights flashing pattern. Here are a few features demonstrating it: Reverse polarity protected; Over voltage and surge protected; Operating from 9 to 32Vdc; Operating from 40 C to +85 C for I/O controllers; Operating from 30 C to +70 C for the Data Terminal Display. The SwitchPlex units are the key element in electrical optimisation and wiring simplification. They reduce the amount of wiring, usually required by up to 80% while avoiding usage of fuse protection on each circuit. By using Multiplexed momentary type switches, some new features can be easily implemented, such as multi-state activation, 3 ways and even 4 ways controls become simple. Furthermore, light indicators on each switch can give much more information than usual. It can give a instant diagnostic on the enabled loads using special blinking codes related to open circuit or short circuit. Charging all battery banks can be done from a standard battery charger of 50A capacity with the sequencing feature. The battery combining mode can be programmed to engage automatically when required. This unit is also featured with Inputs and High Power Outputs as other PRAN power controllers. PERIODIC MAINTENANCE MANAGEMENT TOOL The periodic maintenance management tool, created by Pran warns maintenance technicians when predefined servicing is due, like oil change, tire replacement, greasing, etc. The complete maintenance checklists are customizable for any usage because of simple triggers. This tool can manage up to 16 predefined checklists accordingly while taking into account the traveled mileage. LIVE ONBOARD DIAGNOSTIC OVER THE WHOLE SYSTEM By using the Network s Visualisation tool, which is included in the Data Terminal, you can have immediate access to any input or output state over the whole electrical system, which allows you instantly to obtain a basic diagnostic without leaving the cab. ENGINE DATA VIEWER & DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE ( DTC ) Pran s Multiplexed systems are perfectly integrated with the engine s CAN bus J1939. This link to the ECM allows to have access to any available data such as temperature, pressure or any other useful data registered by the J1939 normalisation. Furthermore, this link also gives access to the Engine Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) which can be described by full text indications. USER ACCESS MANAGEMENT The Data Terminal Display has several user access levels. It s been designed with a specific access level for maintenance technicians as well as a full access level for manufacturers. Ordinary users cannot modify any configuration that could cause problems.

This is the Simple Solution to visualize the state of all I/O and internal program states of a whole multiplexed system. It even allows, with a simple click, to force any I/O to the desired state. It is a major asset when testing and troubleshooting. Logical information about each I/O and internal data is now available in a special pop up window.
