2 Overview The MUX form part of the group of KVM switches and switch the following signals: digital + analog video, keyboard/mouse, audio and USB. The MUX are standalone units. A single-link and dual-link signal can be switched with the MUX for 1 and up to 4 video channels. The units permit access to up to 8 computers via one workstation. A functioning system includes one MUX and the relevant computer connection cable sets. Both single-link and dual-link signals can be switched. Computers are connected directly to the switch via the KVM computer connection cable sets. The available lengths and connections vary depending on the type of switches (see KVM Connectivity). The workstation is connected directly via the relevant interfaces on the switch. The workdesk is clear and is not packed with redundant peripherals for operating the 4 computers. 8 Multi-Video (Single-Link) Expansion of MUX for connecting multiple video and additional displays MUX MC variants can switch up to 4 analog/digital video signals per computer. Consequently the workdesk can be equipped with up to 4 displays. All monitor contents of the computers are switched together simultaneously when the active computer is changed over by switching command.
