3 1.1 General Description EcontronsCAN provides a dual channel CAN bus interface with a standard USB interface - one device for desktop and laptop. The EcontronsCAN can works with USB 2.0 in full-speed mode, it contains the powerful Cortex-M3 32bit micro-controller from STMicroelectronics with two built-in CAN controllers. EcontronsCAN handles CAN messages with 11 bit as well as 29 bit identifiers; it provides two completely independent CAN channels. The CAN bus transceivers are integrated into the device. EcontronsCAN comes by default in a sealed and solid case. It can work in very harsh environment. Channel 1 internal default connection 120 ohm terminal resistor, and channel 2 Internal Suspended The LEDs LED indicates the working state of EcontronsCAN. STATUS (Red): Power ON, when the EcontronsCAN is connected to the computer, the STATUS will start flashing. CAN1 (Green): CAN traffic on channel 1. CAN2 (Green): CAN traffic on channel 2. When the EcontronsCAN module is connected to the computer, if the computer does not install the correct driver, CAN1 and CAN2 LEDs will flash, after properly installing the driver, CAN1 and CAN2 LEDs shut down. During use, if there are data transmission channels, CAN1 or CAN2 also flashes. 2 Copy rights ECOTRONS LLC

5 1.4 Driver installation ECOTRONS provide installation packages for major operating systems. You have two options to locate the appropriate installation package: from our website, or the ECOTRONS CD that is shipped with your product. 1) Connect the EcontronsCAN to the computer 2) Right-Click Computer, select Manage -> Device Manage, can see the Unknown device. 3) Right-Click Unknown device, select Update Driver Software. 3 Copy rights ECOTRONS LLC

6 4) In the pop-up window, select browse my computer for driver software. 5) Select the correct driver file, and then click next, Install the EcontronsCAN driver. 4 Copy rights ECOTRONS LLC

7 6) When computer install the correct driver, CAN1 and CAN2 LEDs shut down.in the computer management, you can see the device has been installed correctly. 1.5 CAN Channel Transceivers The standard EcontronsCAN has two high-speed channels. The two CAN channels have 9-pin male D-SUB connectors. The CAN bus is connected to the D-SUB connector. 5 Copy rights ECOTRONS LLC
